What pisses me off is that its about people in general putting in years of consistant training to push themselves for a chance to win in their sport and earn something. Wich is why you have booth weight and sex seperations in sports. So each category has a fair shot at the competition and an equal possebility to train and grow. So it does absolutely not matter whether you are intersex or trans but what weight and muscle mass you have. If you are equal to a biological man in muscle mass. You compete with equall oponents. By letting someone bluntenly advantaged compete you see this people take away the victory the others put their blood and sweat in. He definitely did not play competitive sports when he was younger. It is so hard to win a game. I was not on a good travel soccer team. We won very few games because the other teams were better. They took practice more serious and cared about everyone's good vs having a few good players like my team had. But when my team won it was the best feeling in the world. Everyone is happy, everyone is smiling, laughing. You don't get that when everyone wins a trophy at the end of the day. There is no reason to put in any effort if everyone gets a shiny medal. If your team sucks and gives up 5 goals and loses by 20 points then get better at practice or start working on your skills at home.

To be fair, we do take them too seriously. This is coming from an all-state high school football player. We value athletics too much. Entertainment in general, for that matter. Healthy competition, sportsmanship, hard work, discipline, etc are great. High school sports and even some upper-level sports have some value, and can be good for character building. I don't regret playing. But smashing your TV because your favorite team lost is just pathetic. Living through someone else's experiences is no way to live. This is probably the one thing that I disagree with conservatives on, but sports aren't as important as we tend to care WAY too much about games.

Shit, I was on the men's water polo team in high school, and one player on our team was shooting for the Olympic team. Dude was twice as fast as anyone else on the team, and my slow ass was faster than anyone on the women's team. That said, I never wanted to play against the women's team. The refs were a lot more tolerant of longer nails on women than they were for men. Walked away bloody more often than not any time I played against em.

This is what happens when we teach kids that life should be fair and just. Instead of teaching them that life is not fair and just, and that it isn't something that we can control. I feel for our transgender friends. They deserve basic human courtesy just as much as the next person does. However, just because it isn't fair that societies values and the facts of life don't align with their perception of the way the world should turn. It doesn't mean that society is harming them. Or that people are obligated to make life seem more fair for them. The same can be said for most of these issues. There's a clear line that can be drawn between racism, homophobia, and the like. If you don't feel an overwhelming sense of duty to speak up against those who would strip someone's human rights from them. You're a problem. However, not agreeing with someone's world view isn't grounds for prejudice, and they in turn, are the oppressers themselves.

I get FURIOUS when people like him insinuates that sports is just some silly game, some hobby or something, and that winning isn't important. My granddad was a professional athlete. My dad was. My mom was. My brother is. I as well, but I wasn't good enough to pay the bills solely through my sport. But at least I had the chance to live my dream for a short while. If we would let trans-women, that is, biological males, compete against biological females we would crush the dreams of these girls and women. These people seriously don't get it. This is a slippery slope into the destruction of women's sports. I want my daughters to have a fair chance if they'd choose to become athletes. I want them to at least be able to dream about reaching the top. I can't believe how we are seriously sacrificing ALL of women's sports just to pretend to be "inclusive".
