The whole "change my mind" gimmick is a big thing he does, but the catch is that he typically aims down. He likes to ambush people on the street, or in this case, a random podcast host who isn't involved with politics. If Steven's ideas are viable and able to be defended, it shouldn't matter who he is debating against, and I think that was the point here. He has no idea what he's talking about so his opinions are trash, therefore he has no idea how to actually argue them and trying to do so *legitimately* would reveal the game. I think Crowder was more referring to the amount of views, not subscribers. Subscriber count is a really poor metric of weighing a channels popularity. If you look at Seders channel, he has several times the amount of uploads, with relatively few views. In fact, the average view count on seders videos is like 3-10k. Now if you look at crowders channel, his videos have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views. And with far fewer uploads. Based on that, yes I would say Crowders channel is definitely far more popular.

To be fair, I feel like a lot of people in the debating sphere do that. They can be super abrasive or edgy or foul-mouthed, whatever, but when they dive in for a debate, they put on a sliver and a slather of decorum. That said...Crowder unquestionably sounded nervous in that first segment, you're right 100%. That's the funny about his whole attitude. Crowder called Ethan a "layup," implying he'd rout Ethan point for point and it wouldn't even be close. But Crowder knows that an average college student doesn't have media experience and are easily beaten. Honestly, I am a bit disappointed that an actual DEBATE didn't happen, as that's what I really wanted to see, Sam and Crowder actually discuss the issues and watch Crowder flounder and falter. "Wow Ethan is such a coward for not debating Crowder himself" No, Ethan literally said at the beginning of his video that he didn't understand why Crowder challenged him to a debate since Ethan isn't a political person. The real coward is Crowder because if you're so confident in your ideas and that your arguments are right, you should be able to debate anyone on its merits instead of dunking on people who are either uninformed/aren't political. Basically, fight the best people who can steelman their position instead of just getting an easy win. Crowder himself admitted that Ethan was an "easy layup" so by the sound of that statement, he should be confident enough to debate someone which might be something like being guarded while shooting a 3 pointer. And Crowder's video that he put out today just proves my point. He said that it would be funny if Seder was brought on, and when Seder's face was shown, he immediately went to "you don't think I know that you cut your show early last Monday to show up" which pretty clearly shows that Crowder knew it was coming. In fact, his whole point of showing the earlier clip was to be like "oh yeah I'm so smart, they thought they could trick me but I saw it from a mile away." That just makes him look worse because he was unwilling to have a conversation with Sam even though he knew that he was showing up, which means that he didn't really want to have a talk about the ideas. 2. "Omg Ethan is such a liar for doing this" First of all, you're a Steven Crowder fan so you obviously don't care about the truth. Whether that is in regards to election fraud claims(which have all been debunked), details about George Floyd's murder(legal term now cucks), or any of the covid misinformation which was meant to downplay the virus and defend Trump no matter what. Second, even if Ethan didn't mention that he wanted Seder to debate, Crowder pulled out of the earlier debate because his wife was having "complications." However, once Sam entered the call, Crowder was immediately like "you don't think we noticed that you ended your show early so you could come on here" which kind of gives the game away that you were focused on the Majority Report and not your wife's so-called complications. Even so, if you think Sam is so irrelevant, why are you tracking his show up to the time that you're supposed to be debating Ethan and not focusing on your pregnant wife? 3. "Seder doesn't deserve Crowder's attention" Damn, maximum cope here. Crowder literally said on Joe Rogan's podcast that he isn't able to find leftists who want to debate him, yet he ignores Seder's challenge on numerous occasions. Actually, let's try something fun for everyone in Steven Crowder's audience. If you think that he's an intellectual powerhouse and would make any left leaning person shake in their boots, just ask him to debate any of the following left leaning people: Destiny, Vaush, David Pakman, Kyle Kulinski, Dylan Burns, etc. If he doesn't respond, then he's a coward who only wants dunks on college freshman who aren't media trained and are more worried about passing their next exam rather than how they look in a debate against a Yter who has prepped for a few weeks on his talking points that he'll use. Also, there's literally a video of him ambushing a TYT event where he impersonates Cenk, but he's mad when Seder shows up to battle in the free marketplace of ideas. In short, just follow the golden rule and if you don't like it when people ambush you at what you thought was a private event, then respect someone else's right to be left alone at a private event. 4. Another one that sticks out to me is Crowder badly misrepresenting and distorting a glacier growth study that hbomberguy covered in his "Climate Denial: A Measured Response" video. That thing from Crowder went viral and was getting spammed everywhere for months. All told I don't really get mad at Crowder or his contemporaries for lying or distorting stuff. What they do is a giant grift and I don't expect much more out of them.
