Exactly. My thought after Crowder ran away was that it went even better for Sam than if he'd actually routed him in debate. I don't actually think Sam would've beaten him that badly in a debate; Crowder's a proficient bullshitter and most viewers are either supporters of Sam or supporters of Steven, so the reaction if they'd debated would've probably shaded in favour of Sam but I don't think it would've been a walkover. But the reaction to this - from both sides - was so so so much worse than if he'd lost narrowly(or even if he'd got spanked) in a debate. I have to think that - by the metrics his moron fans measure whether someone has won or not - a portion of his audience will have been embarrassed by his reaction here. Unlike if they'd actually debated, there's no way for his fans to really spin this. He just ran like he had a rocket up his arse.
