Best songs of the album 5. Are You Coming with Me? - Great guitar and overall hard rock sound 4. Lucky Us - Heavy heavy heavy love it and i actually love how aggressive and down tempo it sounded 3. Zero - Fast paced, love the screams and the breakdown, love at first listen 2. Hologram - Most emotional song imo, love how its not just "verse,chorus,verse,chorus,chorus again" it actually had a bridge and actual song structure to it which i loved 1. Aftermath - Overall favorite song on this album, love the mix of soft and heavy, this song definitely has the best chorus Worst song: the fear is real - too long considering it is an interlude song BTW for days is a beautiful soft song

CTE back when they released 'The Fallout', was the literal butt of metalcore. They literally inherited the Risecore genre (Andy even says that himself). Sure, it put them on the map, and the title track 'The Fallout' was decent, but if you listen to the rest of the album (besides Johnny's Revenge) it is literally the most recycled, generic album that has ever been released on this label. This album is so refreshing. Although I couldn't get into the softer songs like Are You Coming With Me and the The Weight of The World - songs like this are just gold. Displaying Andy's mad pipes and STILL even including Dave's screams. Granted, it isn't the best album, but it's a step I, and many other people, didn't mind them taking.

It's funny I loved the EP. Hated The Fallout loved The Resistance. But I think this album is their best effort so far. There's just some songs on here that I think is their best work(Like this song and Hologram). I'll be really interested to see what the do next.

I've been a Crown fan since a couple months before The Fallout released and I've been a fan ever since. Both The Fallout and The Resistance were superb albums in my opinion. So when Retrograde was announced my expectations were high. But sadly, I was dissapointed with this release. Don't get me wrong, its not a bad record but something definitely lacking compared to the other two. Their last record was filled with strings, elegant singing, brutal screaming, outstanding choirs and unforgettable choruses. Just a very epic record overall. Every song had something that made it special and so different from each other. That's why this is my least favorite record. The last 3 songs on the standard edition really just sound the same to me. Most of these songs sound like pretty generic rock to me. I get that artist grow as people and inevitably their sound is going to change. But that doesn't mean they have to take a step backwards creativity wise. I get it, writing songs about some made up world could get old quick. That's why i like that with this record they are writing from a more personal perspective. But something in the actual music is lacking. I mean two instrumentals on an 11 track record? Really? Again, just my opinion. Anyways, I will always love and support these dudes. Seen them 3 times and they've always kicked ass!

I do like this album to a certain extent, this song is catchy, but if i had to sum up this album, I'd say it just screams generic rock. Catchy, memorable, but not quite as epic as their other albums.
