Welcome to Hell is one of the few animations that I found randomly through KZbin's recommended algorithm. I don't know how these random animations keep popping up on my KZbin recommendations cause I don't even watch that many, but I can't complain. Butter Lover recently came up, too. I don't know why but those two animations remind me of the other.

There's a hate for it? Haha! I still use it, but if I'm being serious, I try to use it just for small inbetweens. There was an immediate improvement in my proportions as soon as I started drawing the keys without using onion skins.

I think a good way to animate digitally without onion skins is Flipnote Hetena. Because it literally is a digital flipnote. Too bad I couldnt get a 3DS, my parents never had the money to afford it. Now that we live in a age where phones overall are better for gaming and apps, I have no interest in it. But, OpenToonz does emulate traditional animation well and I can turn the onion skin off. So perhaps I can experament in that

Welcome To Hell is probably my favorite animated independent short film! I basically read every single answered ask on the Tumblr page. And listened to all the outtakes and stuff. The guy who does Mephistopheles's (Mephistopeles'? Mephistopeles'eseses?) voice is hilarious. XD

It's so true about pencil animation. It's very rewarding. As a newbie to animating I just animated my first flip books and it was so amazing I can't even describe! I actually stated when I found a little flip book lying on the table at the office at school (I'm a TA) it was made by one of the other TA's presumably. I made one or two then stuck them into a stack. Next day there were more mad now we have a whole thing going and I love it. I like to think we got some people interested in animation or at least helped them understand how much harder it is than it looks.

I can imagine it's somewhat unfinished (story wise) because (like you said) she had to draw each frame, insert it, then color it. Going with the story, if Sock did get Johnathan to finally "kick the bucket" it'd take awhile, and that's assuming Sock could really do it. The animation would've taken forever to make.

I think a studio or someone you can animate for their Young channel. Not networks...they're not good but a studio that makes cartoons like Cartoon Network for instance then you can probably get a job there after your done with school or just use KZbin as a job or work for someone's channel. idk if thisll help or not. ^^;

I loved this #animation the first time I saw it. I like how the ending is a bit #ambiguous. That's just how life is sometimes. On the other hand, the ending that enters my mind or #headcanon is that Sock doesn't haunt but actually becomes a friend to the lonely teenager. I guess many of us including myself wished they had that one friend growing up and maybe to this day. A friend that has your back no matter what and friends can come out of nowhere. It's indeed a beautifully crafted piece and very relatable and glad the artist went in that direction as opposed to the other. Thanks #CrownePrince and #KeyframeProductions for a good and slightly open-ended review like #WelcomeToHell itself. Also want to commend the other upcoming artists who created those awesome mini #animations in #KibbleCorner. Cheers guys and look forward to the next one :)

Yo, Crowne Prince! If they're not already on your radar, I highly HIGHLY recommend that you keep an eye on Overgrowth by Crowfolly and True Tail by Skynamic Studios. They're both animated series in the works by two different KZbin channels and they both look very promising! Crowfolly is hard at work on the first episode of their series and Skynamic Studios has their animatic pilot episode on their channel. To anyone reading this that hasn't already checked out these two, I urge you to do so! Also, apologies in advance for potentially getting you hooked on something that you'll now have to wait for.
