CRT Millennium UK CE MultiNorm CB radio (mobile) - Service adjustments

I have a CRT Xenon and the receive is OK but it's the size that makes it good to use mobile. Very discreet and can be mounted away from prying eyes.

Is this the same as the Jopix PT31? And what are the two components either side of the diode nearest the power input, which look like ferrite tubes? Mine burned a wire out in one of these components, which I replaced successfully, but I still don't know what they do...

I've not had the Jopix PT31 so don;t know. Normally when wiring burns, the radio must be drawing excessive current. 1) power lead polarity reversed with no or too high a fuse. 2) very high SWR 3) previous owner has messed about with it. I've three similar type tiny sets in the scrap bin that people have messed with & caused the radio's demise. Richard

@@richardmorris66 I've no idea how it will work on a roof rack, but looking the aaerial up it seems similar to a mini springer. I had a mini springer body mounted in the centre roof of a Nissan Primera estate car I once owned. Maximum range was reduced to around 6 miles, but I had to go in an underground car park with it several times a day. Richard, G0OJF, UK

Yes, but this comes with the spare fuse in the holder & actually does 4W on tx. The PNI only managed 3.2W Richard
