When it originally opened in 1854, Crystal Palace Park had an attraction of statues of extinct species. It later evolved to known as the dinosaur trail. A lovely walk, mainly through woods and some parkland, surrounding a lake with statues of dinosaurs and other extinct animals (such as the Great Elk). The dinosaurs are not true depictions and more based on artistic license at the time. Some of the sculptures are a little tired (they have been outside in all the elements for nearly 170 years). My visit was on a dreary January day. I think I will return in the summer months to see how different it looks.
