I figuret it out.. dont know How it works with different stereos but with mine i just simply connect my car play and and cardin stereo bluetooth at the same time and then just use the audio from my cardin stereo device via my phone.

I'm driving along listening to the radio (AM, FM or satellite). A call comes in that interrupts the radio (as it should). When the call is completed I don't go back to the radio station I was listening to, but instead the car goes to the Music app on Apple CarPlay and starts playing from my iPhone using Apple CarPlay. It takes 6 or 7 button presses to get me back to the radio station I was listening to. I prefer not to do all this while driving. This is happening on a Ford, GM, and a Toyota. Can't really blame the cars I don't think. I've been looking on my iPhone for a setting that might be doing this but I can't find it.

I know it’s a year later so you’ve probably found a solution by now, but you could setup a focus mode to block all calls while in the car. The driving focus makes it pretty easy to do that

Interesting why you are encouraging people to disable driving focus. I am a responsible driver and I still have that on when driving because it just stops me getting un-necessary messages that I don’t need to see while driving that could become distracting. I have phone calls and messages allowed which are read out loud to me and that’s the only notifications I need when I’m driving 4:36

Hi, Thanks for your valuable videos. I have a problem with the google map application. When I run it on my CarPlay screen and push the button go or start the sound of directions are not heard as long as I touch the top of my iPhone screen as the google map application run behind and it is only shown in blue color as banner. When I touch the banner and pull it down a directions list come to screen and then the directions sound from the CarPlay screen is coming. I want whenever I set and run the route directions sound must be heard from the CarPlay. I hope I have described my problem and can you propose any suggestions I will be very happy. Thank you again.

Wireless carplay is really butt It forces you off the wifi and if you live in a dead zone then it just sucks. Wired connection, better sound quality for the bass heads out there.

I love apple carplay my one gripe about it and what I’m trying to figure out. If I’m driving or if my wife is driving and either of our phones are connected and we’re listening to music on Spotify and whoever at the time is sitting in the passenger seat and there phone is connected to CarPlay we turn on music on Spotify and we go about just looking at anything in different apps it will cancel out Spotify and play audio from that app even if there is no music like Etsy. It doesn’t do it when we’re connected to CarPlay whys it doing it now?

The only thing I don’t like about turning off “show in CarPlay” is that i don’t get a notification sound at least. I figured that CarPlay should at least play the message sound if my notification sounds are on and just not show the badge in CarPlay. I haven’t seen a way around that yet.

So my one issue is, I find it using some apps that it does screen recording. I.e. Snapchat, if I have the app open when I start my truck it will link into screen recording of a chat. Some apps will kick you for that

Hello, I watched your video. I need your help. Recently, I purchased IPhone 14. Once car play is connected through USB cord, it does not show iMessage banner at all. I am not able to see who message me once driving unless I checked my phone. With my IPhone 12 it was not like that. The phone was mirrored. I did so many things , such as do not disturb, notification, privacy setting, etc. it does not work and still does not show me iMessage banner. Is there any recommendation? I appreciate it.

I. Love CarPlay but when I purchased my new Kia G5 it is suppose to be wireless. It has not work correctly , I have updated everything. Complained had my radio replaced. It works sometimes but just when I need it the most I lose it. When it was corded in my last Kia it was great. But now it just does not stay connected. In a 15 min drive it turn on and off 4-5/times. Any idea?

Do you know if there’s a way to stop Apple CarPlay from connecting to wifi? Recently it started to use wifi instead of data(the wifi symbol appears instead of the LTE) and interrupts playback on Spotify. To fix it, I have to turn wifi off so it goes back to data and playback is normal again, but my dashcam needs my phone wifi signal to function properly. Don’t know why this started happening

Hi, do you know how to stop apps ( in this case pokemon go) from stopping the music playing on my Apple CarPlay, I got a new Legacy 2020 and i so far only use a wire to connect my phone to the car. It’s all fine until I open the POGO app on the phone and that causes everything playing to stop and go to a random screen with a play button, not related to anything, so I have to go back to radio and play it from there, and if I switch out and back into pogo app it’ll repeat the same thing. @@jonny-n7x sort of. I turned off CarPlay and can use the radio as I like with my phone as a “iPod” or as Bluetooth audio. I still have issues and can really only dictate or talk using the speaker of the phone. I haven’t figured out why sometimes the phone will not record or listen, hands-free, but for the most part I’ve taking care of it. It’s not ideal, but I think I’m done trying and I’m just living with the current situation.

I have the carlinkit as well. I have an Ioniq 5. One big annoyance is that my phone keeps randomly connecting to my carlinkit even though my car is in the garage turned off. Somehow the carlinkit is on and keeps hijacking my phone.

Usually i will turn on Google map and KZbin Music while i was driving, things turn annoying when the navigation sound comes in and the music will completely stop and resumes after the navigation sound ends, instead of just lower down the music volume.
