So all the timings that I thought might go lower than what I have set here in the video won't actually go any lower. I tried the adjustments off camera. Also this OC is good for around 555-560Gflops in linpack with the 11900K at stock.

Hey, I have a 12600k and an z690 tomahawk. I can't decide what ram I should go for. Ballistix 3600 cl16 or ballistix Max 4000 cl18. What's the better choose for gaming?

3600c16 and 4000c18 is really almost the same as far as latency goes (most games are more latency sensitive than bandwidth) 8.88889ns vs 9.0ns, pretty much just buy whatever is cheapest...

Should try Cezanne. I got a regular SR 32GB 3600CL16 Ballistix kit stable at 5000CL22 with fairly little effort (SoC LLC and voltage tinkering, mostly, on my GB B550I Aorus Pro AX), 1:1 IF, GDM 1T, and 1.44V. Pointless for day to day operation, even with IGP, I stopped when it got to be real work going faster/tighter, and DR performs much better at a given RAM/IF speed, but kinda neat anyway (Newegg had a G.Skill sale, and I needed a 32GB kit anyway, so now I'm using B-die). Unlike Renoir, I never hit the IF's stable limit.

Very good to hear this, I'm going to buy a 5600G and Asus TUF B550M Plus for IGP gaming, and this exact memory kit tested in the video, good to hear 5000 is no problem, but I don't plan on going that far, 4600 like in the video is all I think I'll need to have a bit of fun OCing the memory for better Vega 7 performance

My Crucial 4400Mhz cl19 is horrible.... freezing, restart, almost everytime! Only 3933Mhz is stable, everything above this value is unstable.

32gb of 4000mhz at 4600mhz will handicap your usability way more than having 64gb of 3600mhz at 4000mhz

I've never used more than 20GB of RAM. It'll be a long time before 32GB starts causing issues for non-workstation applications.

there's just 1 problem with those. They need a TON of VCCIO2 just to run the XMP. So for daily settings I'd have to underclock them.

I have the FTW Z590 and cant get it to run xmp on four dims of corsair 16gb 3200 it only runs it with two sticks when I try to do it manually it doesnt boot Im so confused

Cool memory overclock. I wonder what people usually use to check for stability, fast. I started using Y-cruncher, Pi 2.5b. It complained about a CRC error/checksum something so I knew there was a memory stability issue, Pi 2.5b stopped. And that test is 2 minutes so it's fast. Downside is it pushes CPU. Memory overclocks have gotten so complicated. Both AMD and Intel has ~40 settings to dial in. Used to be like the 5 primaries. But it's more interesting too, with the complexity. Man, 300+ watts from CPU. I HATE when my 5600x tries to draw 130 watts. I restricted it to 100 watts with a static OC. And it performs better in Cinebench. 4.5 Ghz static at lower voltages vs 4.4 Ghz with PBO and stupid voltages.

You said that you can't lower the cpu voltage without restarting the system, couldn't you use XTU ? I don't know what's your take on it but I find it practical to do a quick and dirty job like that

So far it looks like the Tachyon works better with DJR and the DARK is a lot better with Samsung B-die. Micron seems to be about the same on both.

what motherboard? Try starting with 3600 16-16-16-36 1.4V and working up from there
