Very eye opening, the price our Savior paid for us. Even Mel Gibson's "The Passion" can't fully depict the Lord's true suffering! Thank you for this.

You have to admit that Mel Gibson was on point when he did The Passion.

Martin Scorsese' film ' The Last Temptation Of Christ' depicts more fully the true nature of Christ's suffering during his scurging by Roman soldiers and subsequent crucifixion.

In spite of the scouring, whipping, and the excruciating torment of Crucifixion, JESUS CHRIST [Peace Be Upon Him] still forgave his enemies and tormentors.

Thanks for reading this. Christ took the cross so that we might wear a crown one day. What our elder brother went through let us know that we should pray always and pray without ceasing so that we might be led by the holy spirit to endure this journey. We can always call on Jesus for help, no matter what, no matter when. He is risen.

Despite the horrible scourging to the crucifixion of Jesus, it wasn't the nails that kept Him on the cross. It was His love for us that kept Him there.

Isaiah 53:5 says transgressions and iniquities, they are sins. Right. He died for sins, and sins of the heart. Right?

Thank you for your comment. I want to recommend to you Denise's book Redeemed from Shame. In chapter 2 she teaches about what Isaiah 53:3-12 means for us, and I believe it will help you with your question. Here is a link to it: store.renner.org/product/2/redeemed-from-shame

I would say the only death more intensely painful than crucifixion is burning to death, or possibly eating alive by lions or sharks etc but those deaths would over in minutes at the most, not hours.

Assalamualaikum, I am a revert. Why is the expression "totally naked" always being used? Why not say "stripped down to the loin clothe?"
@stanleybroniszewsky8538 Жыл бұрын
Even the loin cloth was removed from Him. It wasn't just crucifixion but also public humiliation as well. The Romans did everything conceivable to the condemned person hanging on the cross. It was a common practice for all to be crucified to be stripped naked.
