Fitted these yesterday to a giant fastroad , fairly good fit for that bike, did have to shave bottom or rear guard , did find these a terrible pain to get into right position, I certainly don't want to remove anytime soon

Care to comment on the damage to the frame? Do the velcro pads work after they get a bit of dust in them?
@journeyman87746 жыл бұрын
gaijintendo the velcro is industrial strength, guards will not come off without considerable force. The velcro sticks to the frame with adhesive it is incredibly strong but apparently can be removed by heating with a hairdryer without damaging the paintwork. Hope that helps.

Journeyman reason I ask is my SKS Raceguards protective patches ended up taking paint off my steel forks at the point of contact after grit got in. These look slightly better a point of contact. I was wondering, should the velcro get a muddy dip on a "dry" start day, if they'd still work?

I like the old ones mk2

I use both on different bikes. For longer distances, very wet conditions I found MK3 best but perhaps don't look as sporty!

Do you have experience with the MK3s in the snow? Does the even work in snow?

Clearence is only as good as the depth or your brakes / fork arch height. On my bike its awful and had to do away with the front part of teh front guard completely and hack considerable amount off where it meets the back of the fork. JUst my 2 cents. 25cs pumped to 80 psi

Very true should have made this point clearer in the video.

That's my concern. Running 25mm tyres and my old sks clip ons fouled up on my trek. That had the from mech protector on the rear guard too.

You feet get soaked because the front guard cannot handle large amounts of water, it spews over the side over your feet when you go over even small puddles.

mudguard only prevents mud and water from the wheel getting on you

Surprisingly if looked after will last, but yes more fragile than standard guards
