Arguably THE BEST!! Always hated him as a kid growing up in the 90s because he was a Chevy driver and because he was so goddamn good lol. But he became the elder statesman of the sport of NASCAR as the years went by and I don't think there was anyone who didn't respect his greatness and everything he accomplished. Gordon was a once in a lifetime type of talent.

The first person I ever idolized as a little kid was Jeff Gordon. I haven't watched or been involved with Nascar in a little over a decade, but this pretty much made my cry. What a genuine, true, real, humble human being that man is. Beyond sad I won't ever see my childhood hero race again. So beyond happy for his accomplishments.
@AJPennyPacker22 жыл бұрын
He was mine too. Like you, I haven’t kept up with NASCAR for a long time…that Martinsville race that just happened with Ross Chastain rekindled a lot of old love for the sport for me. Now I’m watching Dale Jr. download all day along with tons of other clips from old drivers I used to love, Jeff being number 1. When I was a kid, my dad and I didn’t watch football on Sundays. We watched the race. We watched NASCAR and my dad was a big tennis player, so we watched tennis a lot too. My two heroes were Jeff and Federer. Two GOATS of their respective sports who dominated throughout my childhood, (Jeff already being established before I was a kid in the early 2000s). I remember having all the little NASCAR cars and racing them on the carpet. Jeff always ended up winning. That DuPont Chevy with the ocean blue and lava flames was always the coolest looking car on the track, and Jeff could back it up with top class driving.

At one time I considered Jeff a spoiled lil brat but off the track his professionalism, integrity and respect for all those before him and those he's created some of the greatest memories in all of motorsports with never ceases to amaze me! I followed Jeff for 14 years and cried when I found out he was going to retire! Jeff always made it fun to be a fan!!!!! I will never forget the rush I experienced just watching Jeff and cheering him on to Victory Lane!!!!!!!!!! My most favorite memory will be of Martinsville for the last time and Jeff's last win!!!! I am sorry that Dale Jr has had to sit out the rest of this season but I am very glad to see Jeff fill in for Jr. You go Jeff because there will NEVER EVER be a legend in their own time like you!!!!! Tim's and Gordons starts were so similar.. movie works for both.

Best Nascar moment ever. I just love how Jeff says goodbye as if it's just hitting him his life dreams are over, and accomplished.

I’ve always said Tom Cruise looked like Jeff Gordon, I could see him playing him in a movie.

They have teleprompters at the oscars as well, makes it easier for actors to read their speech without having to bring a speech written on paper

Top 10 greatest drivers of all time 1: Richard Petty 2: David Pearson 3: Jeff Gordon 4: Dale Earnhardt 5: Jimmie Johnson 6: Darrell Waltrip 7: Bobby Allison 8: Cale Yarborough 9: Bill Elliott 10: Rusty Wallace

Furious Sherman I would take either Bill Elliott or Rusty Wallace off the list and put Tony Stewart on it. He had 3 championships and 49 wins. Bill had 1 title and 44 wins. Rusty had 1 title and 55 wins. Plus, Stewart won on short tracks, mile and a half tracks, superspeedway's and road courses. He even won an Indycar championship in 1997. The guy can drive anything.

Sometimes I disagreed with what he did on and off the track but I respect him a lot and it will be so surreal to watch 2016 races without him. LEGEND

I remember being at Sharon Speedway racing my Semi Late Model and there was a buzz in the pits. Some 14 year old from California was waiting for a decision by the track to let him run a sprint car. His name was Jeff Gordon! I feel honored to know I drove over the same dirt as a true Legend.

This speech isn't on paper. What a great speaker he is. He should run for the American presidency fr.
