We were just on an 11 day cruise on this ship in the West Indies. Our 3rd cruise with Viking. We will never go on any other cruise line. Love the no kids, just very classy and relaxed. Spoiled every time.LOVE VIKING!!!

Thank you for this excellent video tour. It really gives a feel for what the whole ship is like. Yes, it's quiet and bland, but I've been on Carnival and I'll take this any day. Going on the Viking Homelands cruise next April and can't wait!

Sailed with Viking Star in Winter 2018, was convinced right away to book a cruise on Viking Sky for Spring 2019. Penthouse veranda stateroom is a huge upgrade from Deluxe veranda for not much more money. If the beer & wine included at lunch & dinner isn't enough, the beverage package is quite reasonable and, in addition to cocktails & liquor, includes much better wine by the glass.

Depending on how much you drink, you don't even need to purchase the beverage package since it's cheaper to just buy the individual drinks if you don't drink a lot.

People were really panicking when the emergency alarm saying the ship is sinking went of the captain said on the loud speaker abandon ship and people were being airlifted of the ship and the ship was flooding I have gone on 7 cruises and I have never experienced any of these issues so travel with Norwegian cruise lines :)

Love your videos. Very comprehensive and to the point- you say exactly what you need to say and nothing else. I will say there were times on this video where you needed to turn down the volume on the footage so we could hear you. Keep up the awesome though!

My first cruise ever was on the Viking Star. I was a bit hesitant since I had heard about the negative stories from other cruise lines and how much stuff can cost. Basically everything is included, and the prices for drinks if you don't have the package aren't even that bad. The crew was always in a good mood, and it far exceeded my expectations.

Right now the ship is in big trouble in a storm just outside the west coast of Norway. It is drifting helplessly towards land. It is not surprizing that it gets some problems under those weather conditions. But all of the motors have stopped, which is reason for the seriousness of the problems. This is not to expect and must be regarded as a strange anomaly. One must concider wether the controle system has been hacked, and deliberetedly at the worst time and place. Written 23.03.2019.

And right now a cargo vessel on the wey to help the cruice-ship has also got a motor brakedown, and must itself get assitance, making the situation more complex, which strengthens my theory of the motors being hacked.

@GADCL4 Right now one is emptying the ship for pasengers by lifting them up by a line to helicopters, which goes very slowly. The lifeboats cannot be used under the weather conditions. This is itself a risky operation and it tells that the ship must be in greater jepardy than admitted. These type of ship are not very stable by hard impacts, because they are heavily stuffed vertically.. The ship was tilting dangerously some time and had contact with rocks. Had the situation escalated a little further, the ship would have turned at its side or around and, it would be impossible to save a great part of the people on board. Right now in the late night the ship is slowly moving by 3 of the motors that are working again to safer environments, but obviously not well controlled.

@@cryptoslimer8589 I have followed Norweagian news media written in Norwegian. Early the ship got some heavy wave impacts that broke glass and let water in. It is not clear to me if the motors stopped before these impacts or after but it is clear that they did not get hurt, nor that any of the, electronics got hurt, so they most probably stopped due to signal disturbances from somewhere. In either case, even though that these impacts were dramatic for the passengers, they were way too less to disturb the basic technical systems. I guess that the motors stopped before the impacts. If not the crew would have turned the ship in a position less prone to impacts of the kind.

i would so love to live on the viking sun or viking sky. the decor is truly beautiful. the only thing viking lacks is entertainment, no tubes or roller coasters or game room to spoil the child within us.

That's not the intent of a Viking cruise. Their priority is for it to be an educational cruise since the average age of the passengers is about 60.

Great video overall, but a couple of times you have to turn down the volume so we could hear you such as when you went to the veranda in the stateroom or music entertainment. Probably, something to note is where you would have to pay for items so we can better prepare how much to bring. But loved the video!

Only money you need to bring is for purchasing anything on excursions. The reason these cruises cost so much, is because almost everything is included. Beer and wine is included during lunch and dinner except for the higher end beer and wine. Alcohol package is $20 per person in the room per day, but you don't need to purchase it if you plan to have a few extra drinks outside of the dining. A mixed drink costs about $8 which is cheap, and you can bring your own alcohol onboard. Outside of that, the only thing you have to pay for is a massage or something in the salon. You can come home and get a bill for an additional $80 - $200 instead of getting blindsided with a $800 bill for additional charges.

Average age is about 60. They allow kids/adults 18+ years old on the cruises, but from my experience, it's rare to find anyone 18-22 years of age on one of these cruises. I went to Cuba last year at the age of 29, and I think I was the 2nd youngest on the ship. The youngest person on my cruise was maybe 26. My personal opinion is that most people aged 18-27 will find these types of cruises really boring because they don't have the super exciting stuff that Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Disney, etc....have on-board.

The food everywhere onboard all day is included in the cruise price. Not sure if lattes are incl, but coffee and tea is. Soft drinks, beer & wine are included during lunch & dinner, but cocktails are pay as you go unless you get the beverage pkg.

Everything is included for the most part which is why the price of the cruise is higher than you would find on Carnival or some other cruise line. The only time wine isn't included with lunch or dinner is if you ask for a top of the line wine. The beer and wine served during meals is your typical above average type of alcohol. If you want a rum and coke for instance, that will cost you about $8 which is super cheap. I was expecting like $16 or something like that. Room service is included as well, and it's the actual food from the restaurants/buffet, not the some generic food on a menu that never changes. The specialty restaurants are no additional charge. You just have to make a reservation before or while you're on the ship.

No, use of the spa is included in the price of the cruise. And let me tell you, this is my favorite thermal suite at sea. Just amazing!

You pay extra for what? They include excursions, wi-fi, self service laundry, beer & wine and specialty restaurants plus they don't try to up-sell you.....and no kids, no casinos, no art sales, no bingo, no water slides,etc. That's almost all inclusive. You'd probably prefer a mega-ship with 4,000 or more of the great unwashed masses as travel companions.
