Dobinsons make good suspension parts. I have had the slee 6” lift on my cruiser for 17 years. Dobinsons makes the springs for Slee.

My 80 has 2 inch lift and 285 75 r16 on bronze Sunraysia steelies with negative 15mm offset, I think that's perfect and there's not many places it can't go.....unless you're doing deliberate hard core rock crawling but I'm touring, caravan towing, bush camping etc, your set-up looks pretty much the same, good choice.

Would you mind commenting if you had to do anything with cast, etc for this setup? Thanks and love all your trucks!

A 2" lift keeps everything simple. Nothing more that Coils and shocks..Byr incw you go more than 3", then there is more.. Rear panhard rod, driveshaft with doubke cardan for angle etc.. thats why I kike to keep then 2".

Wanted to go with 35. LC is going to be a daily driver. Your video convince me to go 33 with a 2.5 ome suspension. Thanks

Why did you go Dobinson twin tube vs OME? Also I know Dobinson has the IMS shocks for only a bit more. They are the monotube design similar to the MRR for much cheaper.

I went Dobinson bc I also got the 3.5" heavy springs at the same time for OTIS (my 1995 MoonGlow Pearl). That video is also on my YT channel. So shipping stayed low when I ordered the 2" base lift for this 1994 FZJ80, and had it shipped all together. Still a great lift. The OME may be slightly higher too, by about a half inch. I have my Red Pearl with OME. I should put them side by side. Perhaps I will do a OME vs Dobinson base lift kit comparison.

Great info & video, I have a 1995 LC with 250,000 great condition & thinking about using the same lift & tires . Need to replace the side steps ( running boards ) what kind are those & what would you recommend ? ? Thx again . 👍⚾️

These are smitty built. They are not strong sliders.. I may remove then, if you are local in Socal

Looks good! Even using Dobinson's stock height springs to replace stock springs will lift it. I have the same kit as you used on mine. The only mod I had to do was extend the breather lines. Those side steps are sweet!!! 😜

It's the Dobinson 2" lift.. True they have stock height, I called these the Base lift, meaning entry level and not their remote reservoir set ups and over 2" kits..
@NigelNaughton
@NigelNaughton 11 ай бұрын
@@CruisingTheLand Yeah, I realize that you used the 2" lift but just saying that for people that want to do their stock height springs it will most likely lift their rig if they still had the old stock springs. The 2"lift with 33s/34s is the sweet spot. There hasn't been a lot of places I was not able to take mine with that set up and no driveline issues at all either.
@CruisingTheLand

yes agreed 💯 Also true that stock suspension with 100k miles will be worn on the bushings and a little sag of maybe a half inch or so. Even nee bushings makes the ride sooooo smooth!

Have a 96 fzj80 with an OME lift. Not sure if it is 2”-2.5” as I bought it like this and the previous owner has passed away. Would 315/75r16 K02s rub? 34.6” I believe.

At what point do you need an adjustable panhard? When you do need to get an adjustable panhard do you get front and rear or just rear? Thanks.
@CruisingTheLand
@CruisingTheLand 3 ай бұрын
Just the back. Even with a 2" OME lift, you will notice one side the wheel will stick out more than the other. Panhard rod straightens this out.

@@CruisingTheLand Depends where you are going with it, and who you are trying to impress I guess. The neighbors in the Hamptons, Cape Cod or Carmel CA or the partners at the firm may think the lift is...a little unorthodox 🤣 The guy who just bought a 125+ Corsetti Land Cruiser on BAT for example, he aint shoppin for a 2" lift on the OME site...

Well, I am taking my 80 series on the trail, and not to Cars & Coffee. Sure Corsetti build to OEM spec is beautiful, but will it ever get to see what it is built for at those prices? My 80 series I sell are 30k, and ready to hit the trails and put a smile on your face.. And maybe a smile on other people's faces who see it in action. But the goal is the Drivers face first! Best part is, all LC owners will be happy, depending what they are looking for out of their 80 and their budget and goals.
