Honey alone may not bind well. Try making it with sugar as well.

By the way, KZbin ended the community captions feature a few months ago, so my volunteer viewers can't submit their captions in their languages anymore. I do English and Korean captions by myself because I know those languages. The translated captions already made will stay on my videos. I hope someday KZbin will have community captions again.

This use to be an American staple in the markets when I was young. They made it in nougat. Also, they made it into sesame candies. I heart sesame seed candies.... Merry Christmastime 🎄💕

Hi Maangchi! Thanks for all your yummy recipes. I love Korean food. Do you or can you make a video recipe for curry croquette? A Korean market near my town makes and sells them, they are so good. Unfortunately, I don't speak Korean so I can't ask them how they make it. Hopefully, you can.

We have a similar sweet in India. It's made with peanuts. We call it "peanut-chikki". It is fascinating how the culture of the Asian countries are different, yet similar.

My mom always followe your recipes but she haven't tried any of them This is the first recipe she tried and it's superbly delicious......... but of course it is not possible to make every Korean dish from India

Do you guys know which would be healthier the Indian gur or this rice syrup. Sounds interesting will try it out. But not sure how sweet tasting it will be compared to gur.

@@skhan1072 if gur you are referring to jaggery. I would say jaggery is healthier because it contains fiber and minerals since it is not that processed.

Possibilities are endless....use whatever nits seeds ans berries you have on hand, u can add all sorts of spices, chocolates bits or toffee bits, anything

Yes India we make it with unrefined jaggery instead of rice syrup ... Lonawala chikki and Rajkot chikki and Rajasthani chikki are famous in India... We always have it in winter .. shops sell both the suggestion version and the jaggery version .. In India this kind of snack we have mainly on the kite festival time .. sharing it with underprivileged is considered as a good virtue in India ... It is a tradition to share it with everybody around us .. specially in Gujarat state of India .

We have something very similar to this in Italy, especially Southern Italy, and it's called "La Croccante", which literally means "The Crunchy One" 😄

Wow, this is very similar to pé-de-moleque, a brazilian candy made with sugar and peanuts. Funny how some foods are similar between cultures. Good food is universal! Hehe

Wow!! this looks so delicious. Even in India we make such candies...but we use jaggery instead of rice syrup and then we use sesame seeds and peanuts.

We make peanut brittle in the USA. It's considered old people candy lol. I've always liked it though.

Oh YES!! We make a version of your peanut brittle in India as well by using a syrup made out of Jaggery. We also make a similar version with toasted sesame seeds!! Ahhhh.."Yum"azeballs...!!!

I love nut candy! With how fun and easy this looks to make I feel like crunchy nut candy could become a staple item in our home. I love how you deglaze the sugar and make tea with it at the end. The idea of wasting nothing can lead to some creative uses for things that most people would simply wash down the drain.

In India we call it 'Gud patti' nd we make it with jaggery nd dates. Enjoy them during winter times.

I just finished making Maangchi ‘s yeotgangjeong using the rice syrup i have at home. I like your version coz it is less sweet compared to the similar chinese version I saw on youtube (black sesame nuts). They use granulated sugar. I find it too sweet. Kamsameda Maangchi!😋

Crunchy nut candy is very good with the rice syrup 👌👌👌.... Here, in kerala India, we use jaggery syrup instead of rice syrup 😊

In India we call it chikki .Instead of rice syrup we use jaggery, which is very healthy.
