Keep it in the freezer when the rice cake is still fresh. And thaw it out at room temperature and eat. You can freeze it up to 1 month.

My favorite thing about Maangchi's videos is how she cooks utterly without fear. Got to get the cake out of the steamer? No problem, just smack it on the platter. Doesn't come out flat? Nothing a spoon and fingers can't fix. Not the right shape? It goes squish for a reason.

Maangchi. Loving your show is a given. But watching you clean bowls etc and not wasting anything is my jam! It drives me crazy that other cooking shows WASTE SO MUCH FOOD! They don't clean/scrape whatever they've measured from most of the bowls or measuring utensils they use. Not only is it wasteful, the results must change because they aren't using the entirety of the measured ingredients. I 💞 you Maangchi. I've been a sub since Canada! Jenn 💖 in Canada 🇨🇦

Role of this rice cake in korea is exactly the same as that of granolas in western countries. They're cut in small size, and wrapped to be stored in freezer. And you put it out and make it rest in room temperature over the night and finally grab one of the wraps and chomp it during your commute. You'll feel full until your next meal because rice cake is a exteremely condensed chunk of baked rice, it has high calories
