I have been waiting for this. I said it before but Erica as Lois was a breath of fresh air that this show needed. Lois, just being who she is, brought out a side of Clark that was more lighthearted and playful. Their bantering back and forth was far more fun to watch than scenes of Clark pining over Lana. I think Lois was basically the only character on the show who wasn't constantly hounding Clark about his secret like he owes it to her. Well there was Pete I guess but he left.
@vbrandy708811 ай бұрын
Lois wasn't hounding Clark about his secret because she underestimated him for the longest lmaoo she thought he was just a nerdy farm boy with a boring life 😂 it was obvious she didn't think for a second that Clark was out of the ordinary. The writers made Lois clueless about the supernatural side of him for years but they made all the others characters aware of it pretty early. Lex, Lana, Chloe, Lionel all saw in some ways that there was more than him than what meet the eyes because they knew him longer and had been confronted to situations with him that made them questionned his humanity.

It could be that Lois is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, character in every Superman iteration but Season 4 is the season that I truly fell in love with this show. Seasons 1-3 feel like a prequel tbh. After watching this, I’m thinking it may also be because of what the guys pointed out, that the show felt more mature. I think from this season on the stakes get higher as well for all the characters so it pulled me in even more. As much as I liked the previous seasons when I rewatch the series a lot of the times I start off on Season 4. (It does also have a lot to do with Erica Durance being in my top 3 Lois Lanes.)

I loved that they would always give Lois the more mature dialogue. Like they wouldn't give it to Lana cuz she was so " sappy/innocent" (talking before season 6) and they wouldn't give it to Chloe cuz she had to have the most comic-booky-one-liners-ever. But with Lois it always came out natural, never forced. Examples: 1) Lois to Clark: "Bros before hoes" 2) Lois to Clark: "Looks like Olsen's not so wholesome." 3) Lois to Clark: "Oh, I'm in the mood, just not for food." 4) Lois to Maxima: "Bring it, bitch!" 5) Lois to Cat Grant: Ow! What the hell?!? *throws a punch* 6) Lois referring to Metallo: "Heartless Bastard." 7) Lois to Clark: "Why don't I buy you a brew? You look like you could use one." 8) Lois to camera: It's like the General always says: Marriage is the only war where you get to sleep with the enemy...you can edit out that last part, right?" 9) Lois to self: "On certain days, you wear certain underwear and why today of all days you decided to go with a thong. 10) Lois to self: "Standing in the shadow of six and a half foot of handsome. No, Lois, he doesn't get off that easy. Kick his ass!" 11) Lois to Perry: Oh my god! You've gotta forward this to my high school journalism teacher. Check it out, Mrs. Krietzman. Me and Perry White. Who's sorry now, *biatch* ? And many many more. Lois was just awesome from minute 1. ❤❤❤

Can Michael and the team please let Tom Welling talk, it's his show I want to hear his thoughts. Tom understands the show and the relationships and it's too bad Michael just rushes through it and doesn't let Tom talk about anything. I want to hear more from Tom please.

Yes, please and thank you 😉 I see a lot of fans comments online hoping we get to hear more from Tom 🙏

Tom is a weak podcaster and Mike-el must rule him with strength
@vbrandy708811 ай бұрын
I've been asking this since season 1 but seems like Michael is incapable of letting Tom speak as much as him. He could just say something like : "Tom do you have any thoughts or anything to add regarding this scene" before moving to the next scene...I think this podcast would be so much better if there was more balance between them and if they had an organic convo about the episodes instead of rushing through a recap of the episodes.

Can’t wait to see Erica on the podcast, such a great introduction of a character I’ve ever seen. Great season opener.

Season 4 has begun! This opener had many fun and epic surprises. Erica Durance's introduction driving, then stumbling on Amnesiac Clark was perhaps one the most iconic moments of the series. Particularly with how he asks her who she is and she responds: Lois, Lois Lane. What an awesome way to begin the episode. Followed laterr by Martha calling Dr. Swann only to be met by his assistant Bridgette Crosby, played by none other than Margot Kidder, the feature films own Lois Lane. Two Lois's in one episode. Not to mention the scene was a nice little Lana/Lois reunion for Annette and Margot as they were both in Superman 3 as the characters. Enjoyed that much myself. Happy Wednesday guys!😀🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Season 4 has aways been my favorite. I love Lois' introduction and her head butting relationship with Clark. I love the introduction of magic and and the whole quest for the elements. Just an overall fun season.

My pick would have been the final scene between Lois and Clark in the graveyard.

Erica and tom my all time favourite lois and clark. Love how at the start clark is always on edge and defensive and also chemistry simmering and lois is flying on all cylinders. By the end of show clarks confidence and calmness overtook her riding him all the time and he started confusing HER. Clark then challened lois. Great spark and energy between them. Fav line Youre signature move is driving a tractor Could not stop howling so out of the blue . Man of steel writers- lighten up😂😂😂😂

Oftentimes, I start my rewatches of the series here. Not that I dislike seasons 1-3, because they set the tone and had so many wonderful fundamental moments, but its the Lois and Clark dynamic that really shines from here on out.

CRUSADE is worthy of 3 Roses, so glad Tom gave the awesome episode just that! Wishing Tom, Michael, Ryan, Bryce, & Jason and the entire TALK VILLE Team the best of luck for a superb Season Four! It's a fun & fantastic season of SMALLVILLE! #SmallvilleForever

Lois is so great, and what a great introduction! Kryptonite has an interesting lore. Kryptonite wasn't even made just to give Superman a weakness but actually came about to give the guy a vacation. Back in 1943, during the "Adventures of Superman" radio show, the voice actor, Bud Collyer, needed a break from the grueling recording schedule. To make this happen, the writers came up with the idea of Kryptonite, making Superman sick so Collyer could take some time off. It all started on the radio, not in the comics, and that's just the beginning of the wild ride. Surprisingly Kryptonite didn't hit the comic pages until six years later in 1949, and It was red in it's comic debut, though had the same effect as the green version. I'm fact, it wasn't until 1951, in Action Comics #161, that the classic green Kryptonite we know today made its debut. And Bud didn't even reveal his real name as the voice is Superman for years, so it's like he has his own secret identity.

Finally!!! Boys are back! Crusade is my second favorite episode of S4 after Transference. Epic episode, Lois Lane finally arrived! She was the star of Crusade, but Martha was awesome too, she was the ❤ of this episode. S4 always reminded me of S1, very light in tone, especially early season ( Devoted, Facade). Little bit of witch craft( that was not that great😂) but overall enjoyable season. Great guests in this season ( Margot Kidder and Bond girl Jane Seymour) and of course Jensen Ackles!!!

I love this show and have since season 1 . I rewatch the whole thing atleast once a year. But Erica Durance set that show on fire. She was such a breath of fresh air . She almost didn't fit in but in the best way possible. I'm a superman purest lol so I was not happy she was included so soon. I've never been shut up so fast in my life. I loved every second of every scene that woman was in. Erica Durance is the best Lois Lane ever.

Love Season 4, excited to get into it! Love Erica as Lois (so much that I named my cat after her Lois 😁) she & Margo are my fav Lois Lanes! ❤❤❤
@asyouwish363611 ай бұрын
YESSS she does an amazing job (lol so cute about your cat!) S4 is great! it was a little off w the sorcery storyline but after re-watch it makes more sense. each season gets better after re-watch (which is a sign of a good show). and idk why people freak out about it when really you only see the witch stuff in like 2 or 3 episodes. Lana gets possessed i think twice maybe? ppl blow it out of proportion

So interesting to hear that Erica in real life is almost the opposite of Lois, makes her scenes even better, great episode of the pod as always🎉

Erica did an interview regarding the first episode she was in, & she said she was so nervous. She & Tom were standing in the hospital elevator before the scene began, & she was bouncing on her heels. Tom told her not to be nervous, that there was really nothing she could do wrong. She said he was so sweet & just really put her at ease🙂They couldn't have cast a more perfect leading man for the series.
@vadernoe212611 ай бұрын
@rebeccabuller1510 wow didn't know that. You are so correct, Tom is the perfect choice for this show

Did anyone notice that when Martha stuck the Black kryptonite on Clark, Clark and Kal-El started to separate it kinda reminds you of the painting of Sageeth and Naman? Everyone says that the painting represents Clark and Lex in the future but what if that painting represents the identity crisis Clark was going through? The painting shows two people in the same body one is a monster the other is a hero, Clark's enemy is within himself who is Kal-El its almost like Bruce Banner vs Hulk, they fought with each other before accepting each other in the end and became one. It's sort of what Clark goes through the next few seasons, Clark wants to be normal but also needs to understand his heritage and his alter ego. So the painting to me not only represents Clark vs Lex in the future but Clark vs Kal-El. I think it's pretty neat

This is one my absolute favourite episodes of the show and definitely my favourite season opener! Definitely 🌹🌹🌹 from me, no question. The introduction of Lois really changed things. Erica was just incredible and Lois very quickly became my favourite character on the show and she's still my favourite version of the character. I always loved her witty back and forths with Clark. They had such crazy chemistry and seemed to have so much fun together long before they ever got together. Plus the episode we get Clark flying!!! So damn awesome! And no I love that "is it a bird? A plane?" line. It doesn't matter if its a bit cheesy, its such a fun nod. It was also incredible getting Margot Kidder on the show. Fitting that it was the same episode as the introduction of Lois. Honestly the only thing I didn't like in this episode and this season was the Lana/witch storyline. But otherwise I LOVE this episode! I hope you get Erica on the podcast sometime! I hope she knows how much her character is adored!

I felt the tattoo thing was also weird, but I believe it is because Lana has some connection to magic, and that symbol is the magic part of the three stones. Like 3 different types of power come together for the ultimate power.
