@@jstalk1 I agree that it was partially budget, but I don't think it was ever the case that the Galaxy-class didn't have that capability. For example, large airliners can do some hard maneuvers, but they don't do it normally because they are made for passenger comfort. For better or worse, I think the decision to have a lot of the crew's families and children onboard Galaxy-class starships meant they couldn't always be pulling hard combat maneuvers. Even with inertial dampers, you see the crew being thrown around a fair bit during some of those hard maneuvers. Obviously, during the Dominion War, civilians and families were removed from starships, so they could have maximum maneuvering capability.

If she had to target manually, she could not have gotten a target lock. Or instead of the systems automatically picking weak points etc like an AI assist she is aiming all the different phasers to different points of the borg ship, as the enterprise d is flying like a bat out of hell through it, firing at those points then requiring new targets and firing. Which is even more insane since there's 12 type x phaser banks and 3 photon torpedo launchers. It's only fitting that the D is the ship that took them down. She was the first Federation ship to meet the Borg, only right she be the one to take them down for good.

@@VegetaLF7 Is it "for good", though? The Queen's dialogue certainly implied it, but I wish there was a bit more detail in what became of the Collective after Voyager introduced the neurolytic pathogen. Based on what the Queen said, it sounds like the Collective essentially collapsed, though not right away. Given that the Borg had vessels operating throughout the galaxy, most probably went into standby mode, like that one that appeared in Prodigy, and are still out there floating idly by waiting to be discovered and reactivated by whatever hapless souls come across them.

I think D and Voyager are the only Starships to destroy multiple Borg Cubes by themselves.

I have hated the swearing, Gene would have too...but I have to ADMIT hearing Riker go SH!T when that sword hit the ground was hilarious. Worf though has had EPIC lines though this season..."beheadings are on Wednesday's" "Swords are fun" That was NOT my fault"...and he delivers the lines masterfully.

Gene actually wanted swearing but it was not permitted by the censors at the time. Starfleet is a space Navy and sailors are notoriously colorful.

Bones “swore” all the time. He just used words that you could put on TV at the time.

I agree with Travis and GenXer, it's a navy and Gene DID want to reflect that, but I think they over did it a little, especially with the needless amount of F Bombs dropped in season 1, anyone who says "Fuck You, Picard" should be spaced, no matter how much I ended up liking them later in the series lol

@@Arfarf69 And what movie line from 40 years ago dropped the F word again? You're comparing apples to oranges.
