If you think about it the Enterprise 1701 and 1701-A were constitution and constitution II classes. To have the titan become the USS enterprise 1701-G as a constitution III is a big gap the constitution class had to wait nearly 200 years to bare the name enterprise again.

There were so many points during this final season, where the cast let their emotions actually show through and they weren't acting. This was one of Many! Speaking as someone who was a fan of the original series, who actually grew up watching it, and became a fan of Star Trek TNG This hit me in the heart, and reminded me why I love science fiction so much, and proud of the fact I'm a fan !

This is so cool ... and nerdy! Seven of Nine commanding the seventh lettered (G being the seventh letter of the alphabet) Enterprise out of nine starships of the name - 7 of 9 commands the 7 of 9 of Enterprises. Also, the Enterprise G has: - a VOY legacy as a captain - a PIC legacy as a #1 - a Picard AND Crusher family legacy as a captain's counselor - a LaForge family legacy as a Pilot All this SCREAMS for a respective new series!!!

​@@markmullins8622 To be fair, we've lost both Rene Aubejonois and Aron Eisenberg, and I feel like recasts for more recent roles are somewhat less likely to go over well. Plus Avery Brooks has apparently been entirely disinterested in ever returning, so the main lead is out. I know Hertzler, Visitor and Shimmerman are more likely since they've all been involved with Star Trek Online as well as Lower Decks, but yeah I think it really is more a case that most of the DS9 cast are far less inclined to come back compared to those of other shows.

Yeah. I don't sell Voyager and DS9 short but...Enterprise is the one that carries the series. Took a while to warm up to Discovery but she's earned her place too since she's honoring the meaning of her name, just as Voyager (traveling through the uncharted Delta Quadrant) and Deep Space Nine (staying in a contested territory throughout its most turbulent time to take its place in the Federation).

I like that how Terry was able to tell the story by giving Picard a chance to be a dad, witnessing his son honoring his legacy. It had that parallel to James Kirk and his son from Wrath of Khan with him telling him how proud he is of him.

What happened to the big ol' 1701-E? And didn't they skip the F? They kinda burned through the Enterprises in the 24th century. The ship bearing the name for the longest was the original Enterprise without a letter, followed by the Enterprise B. Enterprise C's fate is well known. Our beloved Galaxy class Enterprise served like 7 or 8 years before destruction. How long did the Enterprise E last to be replaced by the F? After all, there are just 20 to 25 years between the last movie and this scene ...

That moment when you realize that Picard is experiencing the proudest moment of his life: the realization that his son will carry on the Picard name on the Enterprise no less. In that moment his lamentations and sadness of "now there will be no more Picards" in Generations were instantly swept away. Not only will there be more Picards, but there will be more adventures for the Enterprise with a Picard on board. No ship should go down without her Captain and from this moment on, no ship carrying the name Enterprise should leave spacedock without a Picard in her ranks.

Something of an echo to your words: back in the 23rd century, Captain Kirk once told Demora, "It would not be the _Enterprise_ without a Sulu at the helm." In the present, Picard and Crusher have left their own special legacy for Jack to carry. The family theme in this season is so impactful whenever I think of the top moments.

This is also a monumental moment not only for Seven of Nine, but for Jeri Ryan. She may not be the first female Captain we've seen, but she is the first to inherit the honor of commanding the Enterprise (in a leading role. The enterptise c captain doesn't count in this way) As someone who took great care to respect the fans and the legacy of Star Trek for 25 years, she is a well established veteran of the franchise and you can see in this scene that she was not acting, but felt incredibly humbled and honored to be bestowed what is really the holy grail in Star Trek. Now she gets to join Shatner and Stewart in an elite club and she was clearly beside herself. As Shaw said, "the book she writes is going to be great", and I really hope she gets to show what she can do as Captain if and when Star Trek: Legacy gets the greenlight.

There was recently a Captain James Kirk in the real Navy. 🙂 Sadly he was never the Captain of the Enterprise. He was the Captain of the USS Zumwalt, the destroyer that had a low radar profile (on submarines we chuckle at a surface ship calling itself stealth lol). He retired as an Admiral in June. It's just wrong that he never got a chance to say on the radio "This is Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise". 🙂 We need for the French Navy to name a nuclear submarine L'Entreprise (they had a frigate by that name, captured by the British in 1705), and find an officer named Picard to be her Captain. 🙂

There are now two Ex-Borg running the flagship of the Enterprise. I want more Seven and Jack adventures. Ed and Jeri play well off each other. lol

@@DS9TREK it is at least in the Generations movie that Ent D is the flagship. Picard say smth like: "Yeah, the old Klingon warbird vs the Federation Flagship ". Ironically the old ship gets the better of the big D by accessing Geordie's Visor. So the writers use the word Flagship not like carrying the flag, but more like the most advanced/Iconic ship of the fleet. And D was very advanced when launched and went to Farpoint.

@@terryforsdyke306 For that specific situation, yes. Afterwards, she was given a full commission to Commander and reassigned as first officer of the Titan. This was likely due to it being illogical to give someone with no command experience or even Academy training a full-time captaincy straight out of the gate, so they made her first officer to get that experience. A Captain is in charge of a lot of lives after all.

The "family name" -- love it! It implies that Jack has taken his dad's last name. A new Picard on a new Enterprise as part of the new generation. How fitting. Nice touch - Jack pulling on his Starfleet jacket the way his dad always did. Proud parents dropping their son off to begin his own Starfleet career -- the Picard family in a shuttle. Awesome way to end the series.

@@junbh2 I think he was looking at his dad though when referring to nepotism and the family name, and it's Picard who responded when he said "Names mean almost nothing." Jack squeezes his dad's shoulders when he says "Names mean almost everything" which indicates that the "family name" comment was "Picard." For Jack, there's no longer any reason to hide his true paternity behind the name Crusher like there was for the majority of his life. Picard was a name that was meant to be his -- the family name. And he'd keep the name Jack to honor Jean Luc's best friend, but take the family name Picard. Representing the title of the series, and the next generation of Picard to be on the newest Enterprise ... with the next generation of La Forge. How I see it anyway -- given all that Picard did to save him and stand by him, he now sees having Picard as his father isn't something to run from but something to embrace.

@@Scrappy527 One thing I hope for in a new Star Trek series picking up where Picard left off is that when they credit Ed Speleers, they name his character "Ensign Jack Crusher-Picard" instead of simply "Ensign Jack Crusher" or "Ensign Jack Picard." It would be a fitting tribute to both Jean-Luc Picard and Beverly Crusher.

For everyone complaining about the new Enterprise being smaller, it’s class is Constitution 3, a continuation of the class of Kirk's Enterprise. That ship wasn’t the biggest, but she explored strange new worlds, and all of the like in the traditional Star Trek intro. To me it’s a fantastic tribute.

What a great ending. Not sense kirk has someone with some real swagger sat in the center seat. She even leans to one side or the other its cool as hell oh my god she was born to be captain! Oh and its Engage she used that the first time when they left space dock. Jack too of course is all swagger and self assurance man that is great drama right there as these three clash over an issue! Their new show could be wild as they get the weird stuff to look into. Oh and I bet G has some upgrades in the ole weapons department. We'll see I hope they make the new show.

When Sidney La Forge says “I usually do” after Seven Of Nine tells her to forget everything that he just said tells me Sidney and Jack are probably in a relationship or they are “talking” lol. Because you could see that they are both into each other big time and had a lot of chemistry between them throughout this season. If we do get a new spin off I would personally love to see a Jack Picard and Sidney La Forge love story. Because Jack obviously is into her I mean who wouldn’t ?! Lol.. She is freaking gorgeous! I loved this show especially season 3! Seeing Picard and Riker get the old crew back together was so freaking epic!! Especially Worf and his awesome style of comedy lol.
