The make fasteners specifically for patching these conveyor belts. As long as it a straight tear or not stripped too bad, it can be patched. There is a template you drill through and the fasteners fasten clips that grip the belt. You use a driver to install fasteners and they break off flush to belt.

@@sjv6598 I doubt he paid that much for that. Probably not even remotely close. This Andrew doesn't buy new stuff or even close to new stuff. The only thing he seemed to have got somewhat newer was that yuke truck, and that was after wasting seemingly a lot of money on two different older trucks. One of which he didn't care to pay attention to the problem and address it correctly which resulted in the engine going bad.

@@steveleonard3262 The 983 was before all the 953, 963 and 973’s. I don’t know the years the 983 was produced but it was in the era of the 955’s and 977’s. The 983 was a huge machine and is possibly still the largest production track loader ever made, I think even bigger than the 973. Love that Andrew got a crusher and is making his own gravel. One thing though. Need to back off on that hopper. Overfeeding. Let it go about 80% empty then next bucket. It'll let the grizzly fingers screen out the fines you don't want in the jaw and take some strain off the vibratory feeder. Its hard to not just stuff it full, but it'll run better in the long run.
@MattyDardani
@MattyDardani Жыл бұрын
It’s interesting you say that because we keep getting different people saying different things. From what I can gather you don’t want the hopper too full but you want consultant flow in the jaws so the material breaks up better. We are trying a lot of different ways to see what works best. Thank you for the advice!
@jtonguam
@jtonguam Жыл бұрын
@@MattyDardani exactly. You want stone in there to take the shock of dumping the next bucket in and protect the hopper, but not so much that it absorbs the vibration from the feeder. Keep a nice even flow across the grizzly into the jaw. Mostly its a matter of timing your buckets and trial and error. Spent a lot of time feeding crushers lol.

@@tomahoks How long is a "Jiffy"? I'm not thinking permanent, just 1 log high, enough to hold the bed together when rolled or driven on. It will take years to "rot" away enough to make a difference. 1 log high.

You want the stone to spread out some. They hold the soil together and you will have less erosion on sloped ground. Also any type of side barrier will hold water somewhat and you definitely don't want that.

@@bradoutboard8885 I do like the look when people do that but I agree with you on the holding water and that has been a major issue during this project. We are putting the stone down really thick and still having issues.
