The Crye Precision JPC (Jumpable Plate Carrier) is in my opinion, as far as turnkey loaded with features, the best plate carrier on the market... ...Still. For me it has everything I need and pretty much nothing I don't. It has served me well for a number of years contracting in Afghanistan.
You can find the JPC here: www.cryeprecis...

My last unit had a cool sgm he said as long as it was in mutli/ucp we could rock it. Most all the e7's and up had them they are badass. Us e5 and belows were like fuck I can't afford that. Those are definitely my favorite. I did stumble on a banshee shellback those aren't too bad either. All the highspeed lol e1/e2s went out and bought condor plate carriers. I was surprised they actually lasted a few field problems. The cheapest shit I've see fall apart was a company called rothco.

Just a tip guys if you're looking for the best setup. Get a pack of blue force gear doubles and a esstac tripple mid. I am gonna be adding a triple blue force gear just to throw in my pac since I already have the esstac double mid kywi on my belt I can just swap them. Its good to have a small flexibility with these two types. Its crazy how much u can use your imagination on these plate carriers vs the cheap one are so basic. I learned the hard way and spent 300$ on a ar500 plate carrier. When I couldve spent 450$ on a good setup with crye obviously not including plates. Just pick a good brand thats combat proven. And get a good set of hesco level 3+ and you'll be fine. If u live in a rural area u definitely want level4 plates. Lots more people got that spicy 308 and 30-06 round. Just some insight.

my personal opinion... Shellback Banshee 2.0 is the best that $ can buy. mount the cumberbun upside down so reload is fast and easy. Built in admin pouch for topo map, protractor and writing utensils. more Molle for more attachments and pouches. holds LVL IV SO plates and easy quick detach shoulder clips.

Nice, some of the guys I worked with ran those. They seemed really solidly built, but also a fair bit heavier. I think part of it depends on the AO as well. During the summer in Afghanistan, the skeletal cummerbund of the JPC is a life saver.

I like both hip waist side arm carry and drop down leg carry. Drawing from the hip is a bit slower for me unless im using a serpa quick release holster. Drop down is a couple seconds faster as the holster is supported at the top and bottom. Waist carry is only supported at the top of the holster even with a serpa which makes *quick draw in fast response situation slower. Agree on the arrangement of items on cummerbunds making it bulky but i have 6’ side plates on my carrier and its low profile and arranged nicely.

Awesome video. Can you offer any info on the plates or options of plates you can run in this carrier?
@KitBadger
@KitBadger 6 жыл бұрын
My suggestion is to go with the standard cut plates. Just make sure your plates match the carrier size. The "Size" of the plate carrier is in reference to the size plates the plate bags hold, not how big the wearer is. Any sized carrier will fit any sized person, it is about matching the plates correctly.

I know in your article that you wrote, you state you wear 10x12 plates. How thick are they ? I know the JPC is built to run SAPI cut plates. I just ordered a medium JPC and want to make sure I get plates that will fit.
@KitBadger

Most any thickness will work. SAPI plates are inherently thick. And the plate pocket has stretch panels so it will conform to your plates. I hope this helps Joe.

While I haven't used the Derma, I have never looked back from the JPC. Solid gear with lots of functional features and no extra shit.
@buetang
@buetang 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it looks like it.. the derma is pretty high speed low drag as well.. but I like that yours already has a built in x3 mag pouch in the front that is optional to use, etc. The derma that would have to be added on. I'm seriously considering dumping some of my tacos and trying out the blue force pouches you're running. If they'll hold up to what you've put them through,.. they'll for sure last through my carbine classes and just weekly practice.
@KitBadger
@KitBadger 6 жыл бұрын
I love the BFG 10 speed pouches, but they take a little finesse. Meaning you can't just jam your mags into them like open top / semi-rigid mag pouches. Personally I have no problem with this, because I have never been in a race to put magazines "into" my mag pouches...
@buetang
@buetang 6 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Mine end up in the dirt more often than not, and I go pick them up later... If I was ever in a situation where I was getting shot at, what happened to a spent mag would be the least of my worries lol. I really like how slim and minimalist they are, and I'm glad you've shown them after hard use. I run my derma slick 95% of the time... bc I just use the mags on my belt. The BFG pouches.. I'd just leave them on there.. looks like they lay flat. Splitting hairs a little bit probably.. but little shit adds up to big shit eventually.

The size is in reference to the plate bag. Get the size that corresponds with your ballistic plates.

My Medium JPC cuts my nipples in half vertically when placed at the clavicle notch, and it sits approximately 1.5 inches above the navel. Is it supposed to completely cover my nipple?

Does this carrier fit 10x12 plates?

Depends on the size you order.

Kit Badger On their website it states plate sizing corresponds to carrier size. For my build I’d need a large but I cannot find which plate size corresponds with the large carrier size. Any suggestions?
@KitBadger
@KitBadger 4 жыл бұрын
@@michaelflading2539 they're sizing is stupid. They should just spell out the size of plates. Try emailing them.

A medium jpc will hold medium sapi plates which I believe are 12.5 x 9.5. It will be tight but you’ll want a medium for 10x12

What size of plates do they take
@KitBadger
@KitBadger 5 жыл бұрын
Whatever size plates you have. The "size" of the carrier is really the plate bag size. The carrier can be made to fit any body type, just order for the size plates you have.

@@KitBadger So it could fit 10"x12" or 11"x14" plates?

I believe mine is a Medium for 10x12 plates. Try calling or emailing them. They need to update their website with a better size chart. Sorry I don't have a good answer man.

I got the medium I believe. You want to size your carrier of the size of the "Plates" you are putting in it. The carrier will fit any size person regardless of the "size" of the carrier / plate pocket. For reference though, I am about 6' 180.

Kit Badger ok, I received mine today and I got a medium. I’m 5’10 175 lbs; then JPC seems really small though. There is about 1-1 1/2 from my sides? Is that normal?
@KitBadger
@KitBadger 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is "normal" for that size. It is sized for the plate pocket. So the medium, if memory serves, is made for 10"x12" plates. So it is only going to be about 10" wide to accommodate that plate across your body. If you need more protection, you will need to scale your armor plate size up, AND THEN get a bigger JPC size to fit that larger plate. Does that make sense? I know it is confusing.
@mda4648
@mda4648 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, so basically is based on how much protection you want?
@KitBadger
@KitBadger 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the size of the armor plate will determine how much of body is covered, that plate size will determine what size JPC you need.

You can always get lighter plates. Light plates are a trade off though, on either having a lower armor rating, and/or being exponentially more expensive.
