This was his farewell to his father when he was dying of kidney cancer his father was there as you saw it was filmed in one take and not a dry eye in set it is raw and honest and heartfelt. The kidney donor was a family member from listening to James being interviewed. I also know that they did this is one take. Everyone was in tears apart from James dad and they wanted to edit is but James said no as it would take away the meaning of the song. I've listened to it hundreds of times and soon as James has tears appear i cry every time.

Lost my father 4 years ago to Kidney Failure. That man was not only my Father but my absolute best friend. I am getting married November 10th this year and reminiscing about how well he would have gotten along with her and her family just makes me smile. If there was a moment where I could have been as selfless as my father, I would have tested and given his father a kidney without the blink of an eye!

Both ex British army officers and both very down to earth straight talking guys. James is one of the funniest twitter guy's ever especially if people slate him. During the filming of the video everyone on set was crying and Colonel Charles Blount (father) turns round and tells them all to stop as he's not bloody dead yet. This is singing from the heart and facing the demons straight on.

This song hit me hard. I just heard it for the first time yesterday and have listened to it about 20 times since. The reason is I lost my Dad just over a year ago. He came home to my house on Hospice and lasted 3 days and I stayed every minute with him. As my Dad started to pass it was just me and him in the room and he knew right before he told me it was his time to go and I would be ok. When he started to feel himself slip away I saw panic for a moment so I just kept rubbing his chest and told him to keep looking at me as I didn't know what else to do but knew it would be what he would do for me and did that for about 5 minutes never breaking eyes with him until he passed. It was one of the worst and best moments of my life.
