I'm a labridorite crystal fan!! But recently I saw larvikite and fell in love with it!!! It chose me ❤️thank you for a wonderful video!!

This...this makes all the difference. All the time spent searching for stone and trying to figure what is real ca what’s fake vs what is misidentified. Having you really highlight the differences by putting them side by side with multiple examples is sooooooo helpful.

This was SO helpful. As a collector with a lot of labradorite, my go-to… but was curious as to how these compared. Thanks so much for a perfect visual - as a neurospicy human I appreciate it a lot! Subscribed for more!

Thank you so much. I had black labradorite and Larvikite listed in the same description. But I now know it’s Larvikite that I have. I will check back with some other stones for sure. Thanks again 😊

Its not from nepheline😇 "Even though the main mineral in larvikite is feldspar, the rock type also contains some olivine, clinopyroxene, amphibole, biotite, magnetite and apatite. Sometimes there is also a little nepheline present. Some of these minerals are dark, but feldspar and nepheline are lighter, and it is the variations in the content of the light and dark minerals that causes the layering."

Thanks for the video, been so frustrated with all the sites that show larvikite as labradorite and was sure they weren't the same gemstones

I bought a larvikite that was being sold as an indigo gabbro/merlinite and didn’t know enough about the stones to know the larvikite was misnamed. And fell in love with larvikite!

Very informative, now I don’t feel so bad misidentify crystals, cause some samples are really close and I can see how it can be Misidentified. Just have to keep learning. Thanks 😁

You are so right! Some crystals can look so similar that it is hard to tell them apart. I hope these videos (and the future ones) help you along your learning journey!

I tested Larvikite myself and I'd say the black inclusions in it are Magnetite because they have a magnetic quality. Thank you for this video

Hi! I was wondering if you had the video about identifying Hypersthene from Larvikite. I know you touched on this but I have two stones that are tumbled that I know are Larvikite and one Hypersthene. Can you link the video on identifying the Hypersthene? Thank you so much for this information! :)
@CrystalGuidance3 жыл бұрын
I do not have a video specifically for Hypersthene yet. It is on my list of videos to shoot. This Larvikite video is the closest match to what you are looking for.

I had an argument with a senior of mine since she was adamant that what she owns is a “black labradorite” and not larvikite. Since she trusts her source that it really is “black labradorite”. Lol

Great video, very informative, thank you! My face twitched every time you mispronounced Labradorite though 😆

So then, according to you, how is it pronounced? webmineral.com/data/Labradorite.shtml#.X_Y94EjYrrd

@@CrystalGuidance Exactly as it's spelled. Lab-Ra-dor-ite. Like labrador with ite at the end. It's named after Labrador in Canada.
