I wish they would hire someone who can actually create male CAS. For me, that's the CAS that is lacking and lacking badly. So many of the male CAS shirts are either skin tight or super bulky and the shirts are way too short. Most men don't wear tee shirts that end right at the top of their pants. And since the female CAS has a definite Realm of Magic feel, why not give us a couple of male tops that have that occult feel instead of more sweaters and hoodies? We have so many sweaters and hoodies for male Sims already. If you put the new male stuff in with all the other CAS, I wouldn't be able to pick out the new stuff since it looks so much like the stuff we already have.

I’m really confused why they didn’t add the “Add To Wardrobe” function to the jewelry, like in Nifty Knitting. I love that feature and it seems a little less clunky than adding it to whatever your sim may be wearing, and only then is it in CAS. Plus it still avoids the CAS clog all those assets would bring.

They need better clothes and hairs {especially for men) in CAS. Pack reminds me of Realm of Magic. Those crystal shoes are kind of giving fairytales (fairy godmother) feels. One of the good CAS items also added is earrings for toddlers and infants.

I can't wait to get to the jewelry! The CAS is a disappointment, clearly. But, I guess that's not really the point of the pack, and I can live with it. I will say, somewhat unrelated, that I continue to be stunned at the utter lack of accessories for children. Almost every little girl I know loves bracelets and has her ears pierced. There should be way more assets for those categories. The little studs are very cute, but should come in way more swatches, AND be available for adult Sims, as the studs we have are not as nice. Also, if I was in charge, there would be a rule that male and female assets for each pack be equal. Parity should be required.

I always enjoy your overviews! You bring in fair critique and great energy. While hairs I think quality wise have improved, and such, I do agree there are a lot of similarities. That isn't honestly always bad, as you mention- yet I do think well especially in clothing, I still would love to see things that feel a bit more fresh and new. I DO really like that light pink/blonde swatch, very pretty. On the accessory discussion: I do always wish we had more ability to add accessories so it wasn't so limiting (to hairs) The clothing is OK. I really don't quite see dark academia, and listening to the stream, they also mentioned a few other styles, including "occult light' I think? So I feel like the direction was kinda confusing and messy. Nothing here is terrible but it also isn't a wow to me. Of course, the pros is one could also say a lot here could go well with other packs (sorry for the essay)

i think the most recent packs have had very solid CAS so i almost dont mind the similarities between assets in this pack and previous ones. also, the sheer amount of packs that is it similar to--RoM, Werewolves, Growing Together, Vampires, Horse Ranch, Discover University--is a lot and most people don't have all of them, so i think it's nice this pack combines those vibes together to allow simmers who are really interested in this gameplay the chance to partake in those vibes without having to drop shedloads of money. However, i think the criticism is always justified given EA's tendency to piecemeal content just to make more money.

I actually really like all the CAS, and I like that it’s similar to what we’ve seen in the occult packs. The assets are unique enough to not feel like it’s recycled, and gives your occult sim more outfit options for that particular style.

I really like the CAS of this pack actually. I definitely wish there were some versions of the hairs without accessories, and I can see similarities with some items from other packs, but I think the vibe is pretty unique. It's like a less worn out version of werewolves, or a more everyday wearable version of realm of magic, which is a specific niche I've really been looking for. (And I think it's really distinct vibe-wise from growing together and horse ranch. I don't know how to describe it really, but growing together is really clearly bay area tech bro casual, and horse ranch is very clearly southwestern cowboy style, and this is much more historical inspired, northeastern queer college town energy). I think at this point in the lifespan of the sims 4, it's pretty hard for them to do completely new aesthetics, but it feels like they're at least filling in the gaps between what they already have, and I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of these CAS items.

Honestly, I don't see any issues with CAS items seeming like they also fit the vibe of a past pack. Maybe you make a sim who matches that kinda style, and you want more options, or maybe you just love that style. Which is me personally with the Victorian and Cottage Core stuffs, so I ALWAYS want more of it.

Because otherwise you have to rely on CC to get more of the same style, some ppl don't want to get CC or they just can't.

The cas 100% looks like amalgamations of previous assets 🥴 (love/hate that) I do wish the crystal heels were an unlockable instead! That would have made so much more sense. not sure if this has been mentioned but there is a second femme-framed shirt that isn't tagged as feminine or masculine so it's absolutely hidden unless you uncheck both! But yeah definitely not the best pack for CAS, I am excited for the gameplay of this pack but I'll have to wait til I get into it to see how annoying it is to not have all the new jewelry unless i actually have someone actively doing the skill.

I think some of the CAS assets look similar to other packs because CC is supposed to enhance other packs, but also stand on its own if players don't own the other packs? I get wanting more variety, but that's if you already own the other packs. If somebody doesn't own all of them, or just a few, the similar looking clothes let them experience the same vibe without having to own the additional packs. That said, Modders will come in and alter the clothes to be more diverse than their vanilla base, hopefully?

I like the CAS for this pack for the most part, not really a fan of the frumpy male sweaters, but oh god, why why why are they STILL making ankle pants? I don't know what that's about, maybe everyone in Cali wears them, who knows, but I HATE. THEM. They did it to the baggy goth pants in the goth pack and they look absolutely ridiculous, I can't match them with any footwear that looks right and I'm limited to boots for those. I don't know who on the team is so obsessed with floods, but they must be stopped. 😬

My area has all four seasons, so I hardly ever see people wearing them, even in warmer months. It just seems so outdated to me. Cover those ankles, devs! Lol

Imo the sims team should really stop making random clothes based on the general “vibes” of the pack and just start sticking to a specific aesthetic, for example this pack would’ve been a perfect occasion for dark academia aesthetic or even traditional goth clothes

Oh I didn't think about that. I've been thinking fairies is better as a GP. Would be cool if they made something close to Fairy Godparents like the show. Except for the part about the kid needing to be miserable. Also unicorns are magical.

I like the CAS items. Very few but I like them. Problem I have is yes it feels like things we've seen in 2023 packs. But I'm so craving good looking male CAS that I'm happy it looks okay there? I just wished there was a basegame update with just... Good looking basic tees and button ups for sims that would fit the masc frame better. Also I'm kind of bummed out for the jewellry not being in CAS but I also understand. I'm sure people who create sims on gallery with locked items were prepared to have a field day trying to unlock everything. 😂

agree with you. Why did they have to add rings to the man bun ? For once we had a male hair that looks different from what we already have…. Why does the spaghetti straps dress not come in plain swatches but only with that kinda ugly pattern ? I also was excited about the curly hair until I saw it had a big hair clip….why not give us two versions ?? A teen for instance wouldn’t necessarily wear a hair clip like that, but rather an elastic. Also kids….they keep converting adult hairs instead of creating new hairs for kids and it often looks off. Either too elaborate, too thick (for toddlers for instance) or not age appropriate. Like, who lets their 8 year old dye their hair ? Probably no one. It feels very lazy or very cheap. Or both. Also the male clothes are not very usable. I mean personally I just want some desperately needed, good looking, non-cropped jeans for males and nice sweaters.

I don’t understand how they got Arethabee…and _didn’t_ let her do hair and clothes, like 🤦🏽‍♀️ Most of the clothes are hideous. I like the one dress that looks like the Werewolves one with the bag and that’s it. Those crystals shoes _could_ have been super cute but they give Dorothy at home. That one hair with the rings was almost nice but the rings really mess it up. I like the idea of this pack a lot but the CAS execution is…not good I’ve said this in other places, but this pack should have been in a Realm of Magic refresh. It’s RoM Lite and would have been great for a refresh. There are a lot of new players that don’t have many packs since the base game is free and it would make so much sense for the team to keep their promise but…why would they keep their promises… And they really need to make a second hair without the dyed part for all multi-colored hair. I don’t know why they don’t do that. The two toned hair in this pack is hideous in basically every color but black. And yeah no, a lot of these items look too similar to things in _way too recent_ packs. People say the team did it because not everyone has RoM, Werewolves, Horse Ranch etc but no, you’re wrong and making excuses to defend these stupid decisions, to put it bluntly. How can you say that when they *literally* just put a throbbing cart in the game to promote impulse buying in the most intrusive way they could aside from an actual in game ad like Assassin’s Creed and CoD. 2:48 That hair reminds me of the one from parenthood with the two colors, the hair with the rings reminds me of the hair we have with the hair that’s down with the rings on them, and the half up half down one reminds me of the hairs from horse ranch. This pack just reminds me so much of realm of magic, and those crystal “heels” 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I really wish we could get some actual heels in the game, not like kitten heels, like actual long heels.
