I'm so happy about this, you have no idea. ALSO: Before people comment "isn't there already a retro cheat?" Yes, there is a shoddily-made retro re-texture in Reignited that was clearly rushed and isn't even close to as good as this model. Saying that now because in the "Classic Spyro Colour" mod, people said to me that it was pointless because the "retro cheat" already exists, lol.

The retro cheat in the actual game is god awful. The devs should look into this mod and with the permission of the authors, program it into the game.

@@Kryssy128 It's making a good game even more playable. Very simple really. I've played Spyro 1-3 over and over, and being able to create new experiences with new graphics, characters, goofy shit etc.. it brings life to the game.

It's not TRUE OG since the wings still have the same look as the second and third games. In the first game they looked completely different, they looked like the other wings of dragons in the first game.

The reason Spyro modding is so much more prevalent than Crash modding has nothing to do with talent. Spyro was made on Unreal Engine 4, which is a publicly available game engine, whereas Crash was done with Alchemy Engine which was Vicarious Visions own in-house engine I think. So Crash modding is just inherently harder.

So wonderful, the original PS1 Spyro is such a cute little stinker. His proportions and roundness in Reignited just doesn't capture his original sassiness. As a kid I just always wanted to pick him up and squish him like a kitten/puppy, so cute.

Oh, if they gave every object and level this treatment, it'd be like a easily-moddable version of the original games. CD-based games seem to be really hard to make mods for, but Reignited Trilogy will let people make the mods they probably would love to make for the original PlayStation versions, now with way less limitations.

That really should just become a standard. PC games are seemingly way better than console ones just because of MODS. Even though PCs can still outpower consoles with high enough specs, that would put consoles pretty much near or on PC level if every game allowed mods.

This is awesome, however i still prefer the cheat code retro spyro. I feel like the point of the remaster was to take a look at the Spyro world we know and love through a new lense, and the cheat codes seem to be a part of it. Although this is still pretty great.

I would love to see classic dragons with spot and long old dragons and big burly dragons without gimics like star bucks dragon.. I be curious what it look like to have low polly cute Muppet mouth npcs too in this high depth levels. (I also love the original credits for spyro one that be cool too see those swooping flying shots though out where you been is just so satiating) or even things we don't have like the cool lopiloop from spyro 1 in 2 and 3. there so much cool stuff that could come out of it.

It would be cool to have it, but I think its a lot of hassle for the modders to change the whole game to the ps1 version when they can just easily emulate the game on epsxe. Its great to import a skin, sound effects and stuff like that but to change the whole game to me is useless if its going to be exactly like the original. But if modders will take their time and do that then why not?

Also I noticed that they left out the cartoon effects the first trilogy had like stars circling spyros head when he took damage or sparks mouth expanding around the butterfly and the cartoon sounds aren't as cartoon as before in this version I kinda feel like some personality was lost

You don't need a mod for retro Spyro. There's a cheat in the game that allows you to change Spyro into a retro skin.
