I was all for getting a Honda Trail 125 until I went to buy one and everyone had them marked up nearly $2,000 over MSRP. I kind of forgot that they existed... maybe it's time to get a CSC Wolf.

I gave up trying to find a deal after 2 years and just bought one anyway. I don't regret it but if CSC had this out 2 years ago, I would likely not have bought the Trail.

@@jimstenlund6017 I would wait and try and get the Honda. My local dealer had 1 yellow 2024 on the floor that anyone could just walk in and buy. I think they had listed for $4600 out the door price. MSRP is $4099, plus $300 freight and $200 doc fee. It's to high I know, but buy once cry once. Good luck finding parts or ever reselling that Chinese bike. They had to cut corners so it's probably going to fall apart.

Youll regret it. Avoid anything china at all costs. I got out the dealer for a trail 125 for 4950 yeah its a lot for a 125 bro but 1 year warentee its made in thailand for japan not china huge difference. Trail 125 no corners cut. The china bike has so many corners cut only way they got the price lower. Year warentee on the trail 125 when you buy it new. Honda dealer in every town over 50k popualtion so even in my rural county there is one. Trail 125 has a lot going for it. The entery cost isnt 3500 anymore but this isnt 2003 bro its not 1980 anymore its almost 2050 in a couple more decafes dude thats close to 2077 theyll cost more then. Soon itll cost 6000. In some areas the trail is 9000 in europe. In 2035 not that long from now only ten years theyll be 7500 in usa bro itll be trending up not down. Look ay the all around package bro. The wolf you buy it for 60% but its gonna have no resale value people will see you as a joke trying to sell it used. The trail you pay 5k sure bro to get out the dealer before dmv sales tax its still only lime 198 in sales tax in my state. You look ay the overall package and a 15 year old accord working heat and ac is 5k you need to do pully belt job it needs a battery new tires brake job wipers battery, the insursnce is 5x the gas is 5x the oil is 5x the amount you have to buy. And its an old car not brand new 2024. For the same 5k you get brand new 2024 bike. Trail 125 has a good overall package as you gey led lights all around bro all around not one non led on the bike. You get luggage rack thats big, you gey high lift snorkle air intake, you get the big wheels better than honda grom or monkey. You get fuel guage, you got raised handlbar fof standing through tbe bumps, metal front fender with mud flap, you get the skid plate fagtory, disc breaks all around bro. I oaid for my first tank of gas in my trail 125 it was 125 mpg i only bought less than .9 gallons to top it off. My monthly insurance cost is 8 dollars bro 8 dollars. My 15 year old accord was 50 then it was 55 the. It was 60 now its probbaly 65 going to 70. The trail 125 is very unique its top end of the engine is the same as the grom monkey dax so if the engine ever blows you can cannibalize the top end off many common bikes the parts will be attainable for decades bro. It has front wheel abs but not rear wheel. Even for some nicer bikes like drz400 dr650 they dont even have fuel injection bro they dont have front wheel abs. Your own the trail 125 for 4 5 years and then you sell it for 3750 3500 all day long bro itll hold its value thr cost to buy in is high because its the offspring of legendary bikes they are saught after esspecially moreso in the used secondary market so you will be able to sell it in 3 4 5 years for 3750 easily someone will pay and so youre really only losing 1250 over your ownership in depriciation bro. You will lose more than that on the wolf because you will pay 60% sure less right away sure bro but over 3 4 5 years people will only offer you 1000 for it used youll actually lose way more money bro. Its worth getting the honda. You get honda dealer services because nk one wants chinese bikes bro theres no chinese bike service shops its all honda harley suzuki yamaha kawasaki. Stay away from that chinese junk bro pay for the trail 125 for 5k its still justified even in the gas savings alone even if you dont count imsursmce savings and how the trail 125 is the least depriciating honda of all hondas bro. A metropolitan honda 50cc cpst like 3k but well used theyre gonna go for under 1000 bro itll be a 500 dollar scooter. The trail 125 in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 20 30 years will hold most of its value there will be people wanting to buy them on the secondary market no matter what you will get 3750 back for it used woth miles in the engine even. 25k miles in the trail 125 its still worth 3500 bro if its got good tires fresh oil and wasnt like, abusef whistlin diesel style. The trail 125 if the motor blows its worth 1500. You throw a new motor in and its worth 3750 again. They hold value you dont actually lose that much in the big picture. You will lose very little. Even less than the wolf. The wolf worth 60% but its going to depriciate to 10% bro the trail 125 will go from 5000 to 3750 and the used ones are gonna sit in the 3,000-4000 range in definetly as long as youre not ruining it meliciously. A grom will cost you 4k by the time youre out of the dealer and jts a worse deal because its not as good looking and unique. The trail for the extra 1000 it costs you actually get a lot of bang for buck for it. Real trail capability. Kickstarter. Electric start also but thats expected. Center stand and kickstand but kickstand is expected. Center stands usually aftermarket on things like dr650 drz400 klx300 xt250. You get skid plate you get big rack LEDs all around. Metal fender with mudflap. You get high bars for the rough roads to stand up in the bumps. It adds up having all that bro plus 125 mpg plus 8 bucks insurance it only holds 1.4 gallons i just gas up about ever 125 miles i only buy less than a gallon. The metal fender is a good one its not a gimmick crap one its thick and heavy duty you could literally sand and repaimt the front fender 20 times it would still be thick its not thin sheet metal its a quality component brother. The chinese bike its is all cheap componsnts and cut corners. The trail 125 has had decades and millioms of research and development so for example the battery cover behind the yellow body panel is well designed and it has a tab so you can unscrew its allen key screws and unclip the cover and you have access to the battery terminals but the. You can clip it back into place so it holds instelf oerfectly in alignment so you can use both hands to screw the screws. Its well thought out bro. Heel toe shifter i mean the 5k cost is steep for a 125 but its because they really went through it with a fine toothed comb and madd it quirk and featured inside and out bro.

I'm now 70 years old. My first motorcycle was a mid sixties Honda Trail 90, and I was just ten years old. I'm considering buying, most likely, my last motorcycle or scooter, in a long line of over 25. I now live on the big island of Hawaii near Hilo. Originally from the Seattle Tacoma area. I have been aware of CSC for years. When I read about the new Wolf, I became very interested. Lots of rough roads here in the Puna District. Seems fitting to end my motorcycle riding with essentially the same bike I started on. Most of my bikes have been dual sports, but still a number of street bikes thrown in. Come on, CSC, get em comin!

I don't know what the cost of shipping to Hawaii would be. I'm sure everything is expensive so it would scale similarly. If you find out from CSC, I'd love to know!

Trail 125 is still well worth the higher cost. In resale value alone hoe the trail 125s will hold most of their value unlike most vehicles that exist its worth it. You pay 5k for the trail out of the dealer its 1k more than the grom by the time you also pay up to the dealer. Its a lot morr than the wolf but its worth it in resale value alone and many other ways but if we just focus on resale, the trail series bikes are thr best bike to buy. Many cars and bikes you pay like 22k for a kawasaki vulcan vaquero new or 19 for the year before model and you drive it for 5 years itll be worth 10 12k you lose thousands. Look at corollas you pay 25k by the time you are out of dealer and in 5 years its worth 19999 in 10 uts worth 10,000 in 15 its worth 5000. You lose literally tens of thousands of dollars in depriciation plus you pay more for gas and insurance and oil. The trail 125 you pay 5k but then used market theyll pay 3750 for a trail bro they rrally hold their value in 5 years itll be worth 3750 in 10 years ill be worth 3500 in 20 years itll be worth 2900 because unless its totally beat to shit and many will be sure bit look how amny old trail 90s and 110s they had to put another motor in and they repaint with spray paint they still are worth 2750 at 50 years old 😂😂😂 its crazy. So you buy a trail for 5k in 5 years you only lose like 1250 in depriciation its not that bad considering honda doesnt cut corners like china does. You get fuel injection not a carb. The china unit deel in its loins will have corners cut like mad bro. Honds doesnt do that they really do a good job inside and outside of the bike. The inside is just as polished as the outside. The trail 125 even at 5k is worth it. In gas savings alone. Or imsurance savings. The high resale value for the years longer than usual vehicles these trails can hold make the savings of gas and insurance even better. The wolf be 60% the initial cost sure but you dont have a good dealer to go to. The china bike will depriciate so low in usa you will lose more in depriciation on the wolf even costing less to buy than the trail. Being a honda peoole trust it in the secondary market more in terms of reliability or if it does bust they have lots of ways to get the right parts. Honda does it better. Critical powertrain components are more abundant on the trail 125 you can scavenge the top end of the motor of many different hondas theyve made the same top of the motor for over ten years now and theyre goingnto keep making them because its a really good real world motor for taking the better side road into town. You dont want to hit the trail with a chinese bike bro. You need a real manufacturer to really get out on the trail like a polaris 4 wheeler or a honda 4 wheeler or a trail 125 a klx300 crf300 an xt250 yamaha stuff like that. An actual 450cc 4 stroke dirtbike. But that stuff sucks in terms of swiss army bike. The trail excells at the daily commute as well as delivering pizzas or generally exploring and trail riding its a good all rounder bike it fits in at grocery atore and on the trail unlike a dirtbike with no way to plate for the street without going through modifications. You will regret the chinese bike when you go to resell it in so many years. Thentrail 125 will he easy to sell youll list it on craigslist for 3750 and someone will pay 3750 in no time flat. Youll actually lose little money. You pay less initially to get the wolf thinking you saved so much but you didnt bro you actually got scammed. The trail 125 is still worth it even if i have to pay 6000. Its a 125 bro sucks to pay so much for a 125 but its a damn good 125 itll do 55 on flat ground after the break in and shes settled in on stock sprokets at full pin. For a 125 thats impressive especially because its got luggage rack metal fender center stand and kickstand both skid plate, its got a lotta components added on you dont get wkth other mini motos. The look its a very unique peculiar looking bikem being a honda people respect it. Its nit a 1.5L turbo earthdreams with gasoline dilution into the oil its a grom monkey dax engine thats been made for long enough we know itll last 50k miles before it bmows up and youll buy another engine for 1000 pop it in and thr vehicle will stay a similar value. Ttail 125 you buy it new for 5k you ride it for 5 years sell it for 3750 someone buys it they ride it 25,000 more miles and the engine blows, they sell it for 2500 and lose the same as you did paying 5000. Someone else buys it for 2500 and puts a 1000 engine in it to get it working again and its worth 3250. We all barely lose any money over the 30 years itll be on the road. Great bike. 125 mpg i got in the breakin period bro. I got 8mph in town in my 2001 dodge ram 1500 v8 magnum. I got 28 city in my 2007 v6 accord 4 door sedan not the coup the sedan. In town in the trail i get basically unlimited mpg 125mpg+ its crazy bro not even prius alien level of technology hybrid doesnt even get half of my mpg. Less moving parts. Trail 125 is better vehicle than 1989 toyota tacoma 4 cylinder. You get LEDs all around bro. I cant take the accord down the single track the dirtbikers carved in to pave my way.

The Honda "made in Thailand" isn't the full story. ALL manufacturers (Japanese, American, and European) are dependent on China for many basic parts like rims and cables, and most electronics (EFI, chips, wiring harnesses, etc.) Is the Honda motor better? Zongshen actually builds more engines than Honda, although most are sold under "private-label" brand names. Most of these 125cc engines will never see any maintenance in 3rd world markets. The MOST that these scooter/motorcycle/tuktuk owners will do is top off the oil once a year. In other parts of the world, a 125cc cycle/scooter is the primary transportation - not a toy, like in the U.S. If these engines can survive the extreme conditions around the world, it will do just fine here. At half the price of a new Honda CT125 - I will buy TWO! AND - this doesn't include the half price accessories that CSC is also providing (which will likely fit the CT125, too!)

That is true. This was only a short video and I just wanted to spread word that this bike even exists and is coming to the States. I have no doubt the the engine will perform just fine. Fit and finish of the rest of it might not be so great but, after you thrash it around, does that matter so much? I plan on making another video about the stigma against Chinese bikes at some point. I don't personally own one, though.

I'd even opt for a lower maintenance rear drum brake as some say 70% of braking is done by the front brake and besides, this isn't a sport bike.

@@DaveZee01 I use the rear brake a lot on the Trail. I would be a little concerned about drum brake fade on the hilly parts but I don’t live in a flat area.

The thing is; the bikes that get the most use in 3rd world conditions are the Honda/Lifan CG125 to 200 cc vertical cylinder engined (pizza-bikes..) with the OHV engines, ( not overhead cam..).. The brilliance of these older Honda designed clones is that their oil maintenance schedules are really tolerant of low and contaminated oils. Mainly because there isn't a chain and it's plastic guides driving the camshaft and they have a very effective oil filtering system. In an ideal world, the perfect trail-bike would be the 150cc or 200cc 5 speed CG Honda clone adapted to a horizontal cylinder design. Honda made this decades ago with the C-105-T 55cc and CT200 87cc models. As limited in power as they were. The camshaft ran in the crankcase where it was liberally splash lubricated and it was gear driven, the opposite end of it drove a little dribble of oil up to the rocker arms and valves and it was sufficient to keep the top end well oiled and somewhat cooler. And the oil was centrifugally filtered inside the clutch basket, something Honda continued to use through the 1980s with all of their smaller 4 stroke air-cooled motorcycles. These are timeless and novel designs that Honda came up with to allow their little transportation bikes the toughness to last with sporadic maintenance in their use life.

i love this design and concept....So i appriciate CSC Motorcycles giving the opportunity to have this kind of bike when you can't have a Honda....Even if you have enough money to buy a Honda you can still go with the Wolf, so you can save money....And i think it won' t disappoint you even if if it is not at the high end of quality....i think it will worth its money....

Thank you for this information. I didn't know about it. In 2017 I bought an SSR Razkull 125 mini moto. It looked like a miniature Ducati Monster. All I did was use it for commuting to work and the grocery stores. I didn't own a car. It was fun but slow. A motorcycle magazine test recommended them over the Honda, Kawasaki, and KYMCO 125 motorcycles that were similar. It was a mistake because the SSR made in China motorcycle was low quality. The muffler was rusting at one year. The horn wire and clutch interlock switch wire broke from just turning the handlebars. The six strands of copper were so thin that they were hard to see or manipulate. The clutch was burning out and it was popped only about five times in one year; two times by my friend when I let him try it. It was kept indoors at night. I rode it in the sub zero Montana weather. When it went in for an oil change there was water in the oil. They asked me if I had been riding in rain or snow. The answer was not much. Somehow condensation happens in engines. I doubt that water was leaking into the motor from anywhere; but the dealership wanted to blame me for that water. As soon as it was out of warranty it was traded for a KYMCO Agility 125 scooter. The KYMCO has been rattling apart, but no engine problems yet at 7000 miles. I'm leery of Chinese made things, though my scooter was made in China by a Taiwanese company. If Chinese Honda clones are really capable of lasting as long as original Hondas, then I would buy an ST 70 clone made by Ice Bear (Loncin) with a 125 cc engine for $1299. There is a dealer within riding distance that sells them. I stopped there once and saw a Honda Gorilla clone (basically a Z50A type with a taller seat and very tall fuel tank). The lock for the tank wouldn't work and other parts on other clones weren't quite right. Which makes me think that the engine quality would probably be bad too. On the same video page as their advertisement, was a video of an engine that locked up because the electric starter chain broke. Who makes CSC engines?

I have another video in the queue about all things China so I won’t go into too much here. There are varying levels of quality coming out of that country, just like everywhere else. To answer your question, since this is basically a rebadged Zongshen, I can only assume Zongshen makes the engine.

6500 miles on my ssr razkull with none of those problems at all. First thing I did was get an exhaust, smr clutch and stiffer springs, and a keihin pwk 24 carb. 6500 trouble free miles.

I am very skeptical of the engine on the CSC Wolf. The big issues with many of the China based engines was highlighted in Ryan F9's "Which Motorcycle Manufacturer is Best? [Laboratory Test]" video. But there are some companies such as Janus Motorcycles who have found ways to work with and find a quality engine from a China based company. Time will tell if they have quality or not.

Zhongshen makes a lot of engines and this one isn’t particularly complex. People associate China with garbage for a lot of reasons and avoid them for political reasons, as well. As long as the EFI isn’t terrible, I don’t see how this bike could be a worse buy than getting something used with unknown history. We’ll see

CSC is using engines cloned and scaled-up from a Honda engine intended for third-world markets. Might not be perfect, but the tolerance for low maintenance seemed like a good feature to have. Especially if I maintain my bike properly and don't abuse that tolerance.

I own a 1969 Honda C-102 that I've shoehorned in an off brand "Jumpster" pitbike engine. It now has over 20K miles on it, doesn't use any oil, the gears and engine still run like it did after break-in finished. It been a very brilliant conversion, especially that it's electric system is much better than the original's with more power available and it keeps the battery well charged. This conversion was completed back in 2011 and it was really evident that the little, ( I think it's a Dong-Feng..?) 125 cc square bore and stroke engine is made to go the distance. Also the gear spread is wider than most of the Chinese sourced 125 horizontal Honda clones. This actually makes this bike a pretty good trail bike with limited ground clearance. The engine has a good spread of torque and can push to close to 50 mph.

Janus uses CG style engines, which by design are very simple, and reliable. Janus then finds the BEST Chinese supplier to produce their engines. But even if the engine fails on this Honda copy, replacement engines, even ones with a lot more power, are very inexpensive as far as engines go. Honda…it’s slow, and performance upgrades cost a lot !

@@jimstenlund6017 Own a 2007 Lifan GY200, the first builder of the Honda CG clone engines in China made by Lifan. The bike had originally the counter-balanced Lifan 200 and the PO put over 78K on that engine with just oil changes, occasional centrifugal filter cleans and valve adjustments. They are very robust engines. Presently it has a nearly new Lifan 200 without the counterbalance and it still runs like a champ. I expect this engine to last as long as that engine.

I just purchased a used CSC San Gabriel SG-250 "cafe' racer". It's my first motorcycle. The CSC Wolf looks wonderful and like it would be a lot of fun and provide economical transportation. Best of all, it is "available", compared with the Honda Trail and Super-Cub. That, is huge. The competitive price doesn't hurt, either. The only reason I didn't pick a Wolf is because I want to be able to go slightly faster. If the Wolf were equipped with an engine and drive-train capable of 65+ miles per hour, my decision process would've been more difficult. :-) But, the 125cc class of engines on the Honda Trail and Super Cub and the CSC Wolf are not intended for breaking the speed limit on interstate highways. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that. It's a viable solution to a different set of criteria. It's nice to have variety and options for buyers to choose from.

The guys that do the faily rider episodes took that old trail and new trail up alaska in thay video it was good i watched it twice. I wouldnt do that on a china bike tbh

I know. I know. Everything is better in Thailand lol I’m seriously considering buying this one just to see if it can genuinely compete. There isn’t much to an air-cooled single like this. If I thought it was possible, I’d ask CSC for a long term loaner.

The honda cost more to buy initially but we will actually lose less in depriciation over a 5 year period. You get a motor made in Japan shipped to thailand for assembly. Good stuff

I love my 2023 125, I would love cheaper add ons and better power. Good tires out of the gate would be nice and also my Honda dealership wouldn’t order any of the Honda extras like the racks. I had to get that all myself. My #1 gripe about the 125 is the shitty skid plate/ “engine cover” made of tin cans. #2 would be power I just wish it didn’t bog from 55 to 45 going up a slight incline on the roads

I got a 2024 its good stuff brother. The strong absormally high resale value on trail series hondas justifies the higher entery cost compared to the grom esspecially after you factor in the extra quirks and features. Cost like a grand more than a grom but a good used trail 125 will be worth the same as a new grom basically. So reselling we get most the money back. You buy it for 5k you sell it in 5 years for 3750 thats a little loss brother thats a cheap bike.

I'm going to get one. I was ready to pull the trigger on a yellow Honda, it was there ready for me...but $$$ is tight right now. I want to ride around Indio, CA/ Joshua tree area. The last time I was on a motorcycle was 15 years ago. I think this might be the better option for me -since I'm going to "lay it down" a few times" and scratch it up. The price I got at Honda was $5800 out the door (including taxes and Cali registration) vs. the $2800 out the door the guy at CSS was estimating for me-(including taxes and Cali registration)-I still need to buy gear, a tow hitch carrier, and tools, etc. If I don't like it, I can sell it and I won't lose that much $$$

I paid a little more for my Trail. With this now being an option, I'm not sure it is worth it. Chinese bikes do generally lose a ton of value for resale but this might be the exception.

Sorry, already been subbed. As far as buying a wolf 125, sounds perfect for me. Sounds like it's 2000 dollars less then the Honda after taxes and stuff. Seriously thinking about this, as I can get a Honda near me, as Norfolk, honda was sitting on three last month. They even have a 2022 model, or at least they say they do. Anyways, I also see that China is coming out with a 190 made by a company that starts with an L, but I can't remember it. That to is to be a competitor. But will it come to America. I heard about that bike on biker bits podcast.

The trail 125 is so much more worth it than the wolf. Wolf cost 2k less but its because china cuts most every corner bro. A corner cutting scam job bro. Becsise of that tou buy it for 3 youll sell it for 1 and lose 2k. A trail 125 you buy for 5 and sell for 3750 you only lose 1250 you actually lose less buying the better bike that doesnt gave all the corners cut

If I saw this bike and it was 2k less then the competition, and I was adding it to my collection of bikes and don't mind a little tinkering, I think I would buy it just for the fun of it. Will it last forever, probably not unlike the Honda. I think the Honda is over priced for a 125. Anyways, I think it's like going to Walmart to buy something, it's not the same thing that you can buy at the name brand store, but close enough, cheap enough and convenient. My question is, how quickly will it rust?

I wonder about getting service, repair and parts for Chinese motorcycles with political and shipping problems. If you are an experienced DIY Honda CT-90 mechanic, with special tools, and Wolf parts remain available, you may do okay with the Wolf.

CSC generally keeps parts onshore for the bikes they sell. I don't see this is being any different. Completely different issue but if I can get parts for my Ural after all the drama in Russia, I don't see logistics for parts from China being worse than that. If we do see that level of disruption, I imagine we'll have bigger problems to worry about given how many things come out of China.

The trail 125 is justified even if it cost 6k. Damn its really a great overall package well engineered i inspected its inner loins i was impressed to see how paets you unscrew off clip into place so like the battery cover holds itself in position with a clip so you can screw it back in without having to hold it. Those finer details matter. The front wheel abs is huge to have in such small bikes. LEDs all around. Honda uses these reusable push clips that hold certain panels on. So its much easier to work in it. When they said thr front fender was metal they didnt cheap out on the fender and stretch it out like a gimmick saying it had one. The front fender is actually damn thick 😂 I mean like really its way sturdier than i was expecting that part in particular they really used thick steel rods on it. Its way nimble like an msf bike. I actually enjoy taking the 40mph road into town next to the 55mph road because its a way better road for motorcycling anyway i take routes i wouldnt have before i really lived in this 1 coumty most my life and i see it in different ways. I didmt think the bike could do the 55mph road but the other day i tried to at least try to take it halfway back home and i was able to hit 53 on the flat ground in a 55 thats actually right up in there 😂 at full pin wide open so i hopped bacm off halfway through back onto the 40mph side road but its windy with tree coverage most of the way i live in a desert near a river so its the better motorcycling road you gey to see the horses longhorns and cows grazing the trees cover better its a better road unless your in a hurry so at least stock gearing once its broke in if it can do 53 in flat ground then technically it can take the fast road into town in my area esspecially if i geared the back sproket down when it comes time to replace it. It can do 53 in the break in period bone stock. I get 125 on it. I dont have an 80mph interstate within 3 hours of me in any direction. Highest speed limit here is 70 and unless youre going to a down 3 hours southeast or a very small town 30 minutes north im pretty much suck in my area with 1 town of about 50k and two small towns of about 6000 and 5000. So for that the bike is great man. Its really great for just going walmart to buy this and that, shooting across to the sportsmans warehouse buyin this and that, i throw it in a cooler bungee chorded to the rack witu a child lock to keep the lid from popping open and I go home. Incredible bike for that type of stuff. Doordashin in the south usa. Or just generally explorin on the cheap. I also wish it was 2010 and we could get a trail for 3000 but its almost 2030 now. Ill be riding motorcycles in 2050 ill be 52 and the trail 125s in 2050 are gonna cost quadtruple bro. They will cost 20k. Peoole will be oaying 120k for a corolla theyll say thats cheap

Its the shipping cost bro if you live in thailand next to the factory its also poorer there they cant get more money for them if they tried. The farther away from thailand the more exoemsive itll he because you have to soendnthe money to get it exported and imported. In california theyll cost less than in florida and in germany they cost more than in florida the ship has to go a lot farther. I saw a guy saying in germany they wanted him to pay 9k he didnt it was too high i agree. But you realise in 2039 the trail 125 will cost double everything will double again by then at least 😂. I paid 4950 it is steep for a 125 considering a grom is below 4 until you have dealer fees and sales tax youre up there at 4k for a grom yiu dont get center stand kickstart its hardee ti stand on smaller wheels so it sucks on the trail. No luhgage rack or skid plate. So for the extra grand you get way more quirks and features a much more peculiar and unique motorcycle. The gas and insursnce savings makes ir worth it. In 5 years ull sell the 2024 trail 125 ill sell it at the end of 2029 at 5 years old for 3750 and ill only have lost 1250 in depriciation. So in the long term its actually very cheap if you buy tbe wolf you pay 60% the trai lcost upfront sure but the 3k wolf will depriciate to 1k in 5 years if it eben lasts that long and youll have actually lost more money amd have been on a much worse corner cut chinese junker the entire time bro. Reselling it will be much harder. Traul 125s very easy to resell quickly they hold good value for good reason. To me 5k was worth it as lots of people go inti hinda to buy a corolla they say itd 22500 but after dealer fees tsxes and floormats youre up there at 25k before you even pump gas get insurance and a couple oil changes. In 10 years itll be worth 10k. So in terms of buying new the trail 125 is one of the most affordbable to own. You will lose so much less owning it than anything else even groms. Idl about the dax though those are also very unique and peculiar i bet when we get the dax itll also hold value better than the grom similar to the trail.

I'm a walkaway from both for now. Too much money for the TC and don't get the CSC here. I came very close to buying the Honda this year but decided there wasn't enough engine, the unbreakable rep was hype and I wasn't likely to realize any economy riding one, but mostly it was the stupid red colour. So I bought a boat.

Trail 125 supremacy. Im content with the trail 125 it does everything I need and infact excells. Im glad to be back out in the trail getting 125 mpg on my way to town also and my insurance per month i used to stress about how it went from 50 to 55 to 60 now it wouldve been 65. Like yo in 4 months thats 250 bucks. Thats literally i can feed myself for the entire 4 months off that if i try hard enough it adds up esspecially over years. I probbaly wont have kids until im in my 30s so its nice to save a bunch of money while i still have a couple years left in my 20s ill be savin now savin big

There should be an exemption for small displacement bikes or something over there. The brakes on these bikes are already pretty soft. I think you'd have to try really hard to lose traction by braking.

The Wolf125 will easily break into this overpriced minimoto market. I suggest you order one (or two) immediately because CSC in California will jack up the prices once their current stock is sold. Quality should not be an issue since CSC Lifan etc are OEM parts suppliers to Honda. Rust however, is an issue with Chinese bikes. So just keep it clean and lubed (fluid film, Rust-Oleum etc)

Pg1 will be seen as junk compared to the trail 125. You can tell its worse in all the finer details that matter. Smaller engine ans 125 is right on the bottom of too small it steuggles to hit 55 broke in the pg1 is like a 112cc itll be even slower. It also looks like crap chinese halogen blinker housings like the xr150 has. The trail 125 blinkers are much better quality tha. Pg1 or xr150 for example. Pg1 looks to have halogen headlight the trail 125 has a very unique full led headlight. Like i say, trail 125 supremacy. Living legend. Worth thenextra cost you will get it back in resale 5 years later anyway bro.

I wonder why so many young folks are CT90 fans . Seems that most want them to go faster for freeway and highway travel. A few more cubes and you have a more versatile vehicle that can keep up with city traffic, without strain. I have owned a '65 pushrod CT-200 ( $385 new) and still have an old "68 KO with bad transmission, wanna buy my '48 Indian Chief?

I dont have an interstate within 3 hours of my in any direction. Fastest roads are 70mph and its to places I rarely go ivd coke to weigh my actual real world needs and requirements and for the 5k to me i debated getting another 15 year old accord but laat tome.i had to pay 5k for the car the. I needee 4 tires i needed nes bulbs all around i had to repalce a button a serpintine belt pully and idler pully a battery. Actually ends up costing 6k before the 5x per month for insurance and also 6x for gas and 5x for oil. I end up driving thenaccord and never exploring aroind adventuring locally because i got 28mpg city. Now i get 125 mpg city bro. My insurance 8 dollars a month not 60 so thats literally 10 more dollars a week in my wallet for food just on insurance. Plus I can save 10 extra ontop of that every week. I get brand new batrery brand new led bulbs that wont burn out for probably literally like 20,000 hours and beyond i bet led very reliable usually. New tires. Its the newest vehicle ive ever had but also the most affordable in a monthly bases. I paid 3k in 2015 for a 2001 dodge ram transmission job. On a old worn out dodge ram bro. To me its the most responsible vehicle ive bought in terms of affordability and capability eventhough it is pricey for a 125. Its nit any regular grom minkey dax 125 bro its the trail 125 its a much more unique machine its like a mechanical donkey. Having the center stand factory and skid plate factory and kickstart factory and leds factory. A brand new 2024. 2024 isnt even over yet bro i snagged a yellow because its a good color in person.

I don't think Honda can offer it for less. It is cheaper in Thailand but there aren't any import duties or transportation costs there. The market for minimotos is relatively small and they pretty much own it. With the addition of the Dax coming over for '25, its quite a selection. If they were to increase production (or import), I don't think they would sell many more.

Grom closest to a conventional motorvycle with manual clutch i like that manual clutch but also daily ridong the trail 125 damn its nice to just give it the gas and she goes no friction zone to deal with. Im glad i know hkw to use a regular clutch though i see it as a key motorcycle skill to learn as most bikes you have normal clutch leber and its nice for finer control over the power delivery

Slave labor has its benefits. But that being said . I’d only buy one if I were looking for something that I wouldn’t be putting lots of miles on it . The Trail on the other hand I own it. I needed one for everyday use in the city . Yes I do own the H,Trail but only after weeks of research for the perfect city ride that offered all the pluses with none of the minuses.

The trail 125 even at a kinda steep entery cost for a 125 is impressive in ters of its overall package and to me when i go to sell it in 5 years ill be able to get like 3750 for it so i think we will lose less in the long run. If you pay 3000 for the wolf whay if in 5 years its hard to get someone to offer even 1000? The trail series bikes are easy sells. So easy to sell them and they hold value better than most vehicles so i think eventhough we pay up when we go to sell we get more back so its actually less in the long run. The overall package from the factory matters a big deal. Having heel toe shifter and big wheels unlike dax monkey and grom, you get kickstart, luggage rack, higher bars for the trail and bumps making it easier to stand on the pegs. The high lift air intake snorkle uniquely integreted to run up under the lugguage rack. A fuel gauge as well as the metal front fender with mud flap, and LED lights all around. Not one single non led on the bike. A unique headlight. Front wheel abs is also really big deal actually. Dr650s dont have front wheel abs. Trail 125 has front wheel abs and no abs on the back wheel because honda are smart and knkw in the trail you need to use the back brake for stopping and cant have abs. Plus that means you can lock the back wheel up the abs wont stop you from having fun witu the back wheel. The front wheel if it locks youre fucked man motorcycle slide out, crashed. you fly over it get injured. Front abs is good and in a 125 its rare its a bug luxury. Fuel injection. The navi is carburated. The xr150 carburated. Dr650 carburated. Its a light bike so nice for working class delivery pizza guys and exploring all day long and you wont be tired from holding the bike up. Uts just light enoigh you can grab it and manhandle that unit on the trail 😂. Man its a good bike. Its really a great bike. Esspecially because you lose so little in depriciation which helps because 5k a lot for a 125. Being able to get 3750 in 5 years used will be good. The new ones in 5 years sill cost 6k 😂

I would assume so. The shocks would probably be the biggest issue as they aren't adjustable at all (I don't think). The CSC is about 40lbs lighter than the Trail and the Trail carries my 230lb self around just fine.

I mean i reccomend both. The supercub is better bike if you arent into hitting the trail. However if you do like to hit a trail the trail 125 is clearly better than the supercub in terms of peculiarity and uniqueness. The supercub is the more buttoned down handsome version maybe better to ride to a job interview idk 😂

It's probably about the same mechanically. The difference is you don't have to get screwed by the stealership! Motorcycle dealerships are all owned by the same person so they know the customers don't have any choice to avoid dealers that treat you like garbage! I will never buy another bike from a dealership. I will be buying a Chinese bike so I can avoid the dealership!

If theft of intellectual property and outright copying other products bothers you in the slightest then it seems that Honda is the way to go. When you showed the picture I wasn’t thinking that the Wolf looked like the Zonsen, I was thinking it looked like a Trail 125.

@@jtec99 in my area theyre on the floor for 4600. The bike from honda is 4099 plus 300 destination. Thays 4500. My dealer tacked on 100 for existing being the middle man. So they were on the floor for 4600. I paid a setup charge and some other fee and i got out of there for 4950 which seemed steep to me i see it as a 3500 scooter honda sells for 4099 the 300 destination the cost starts to get up there for my cheap butt. I set my card to decline if they charged 5000 and they charged it 5214 and it declined i asked to see the itemized bill and the guy got really flustered so i told him i agreed to not pay over 5000 and my card would decline if he wa sjust gling to treat my wallet to put 200 bucks in his pocket we didnt agree to. So i told him i wanted to put 500 deposit and id come back later with the rest. On thay dudes day off i went back in and it was someone else in the sales room and they charged me 4450 after i made the 500 deposit so i saved 200 bucks that way. The issue i had was they tried to charge me sales tax andni told them the dmv charges me sales tax on the value i paid so if i pay the dealer sales tax the dmv will tax me ontop of the bill with the tax i already paid included and i didnt want to be double taxedm the first guy sho tried to yoink too many franklins out my wallet told me i couldnt avoid sales tax at the dealer but he could give me proof i paod thensales tax for the dmv. I didnt trust it, the day i went back o nthay guys day off the other lady told me i had the choice to pay her sales tax or the dmv i choose to pay the dmv the sales tax because the temporary plate lasts for a month so id save the 198 sales tax in my area for another month. But i bet if i paid the tax at the dealer the dmv wouldve tried to tax me on the 5200 id be paying 5500 beforenim out of thr dmv and thats too high. We live in hyper inflated banana republic bro in 5 10 years itll be impossible to hey out of the dealer for under 5000 they didnt want to let me get outnof there without oaying 5214 on a credit card. I pay on a credit card so its high interest my cost for the bike is higher but i meam brother ill pay the card off in 2-4 months its no big deal for me. I needed to be under 5k out the dealer so i can be out of dmv for like 250 bucks. Its all perspective also for example my imsurance is 8 dollars a month. I had a 2007 accord v6 sedan before the trail 125 i paid 5k for that also but i had to buy 4 sedan tires i neede dnee bulbs all around i had to do a serpintine belt and pully job i needed to buy a new battery windsheild wipers i had to sew a seam in the backseat back together... the key fob buttons didnt work and it was the odl door mechanicals not the fob battery being dead. So to me I was able to get a 2024 vehicle to ride around and i dont have to go over it with a fine toothed comb to replace bulbs amd buttons. I have a year warentee from honda. So its perspective bro i never had a vehicle warentee. Paid for a 2001 dodge ram 1500 v8 magnum when i was in highschool years back now and it had 198k miles the transmission blew and cost me 3000 dollars it got 8mpg in town. My accord got about 28 in town how i ride it. I get 125 mpg in the trail. So my gas and insursnce cost being so low combined with the bikes abikity to hold resale value in the secondary market was enough for me to justfiy the bike so long as if i set my card limit at 4999 to get it out the dealer. You know how deslers ar eyou give em a credit card they try to charge it up like its free money. I looked at thr grom they were like 4k by the timd i got out the dealer and for 1000 more i got a much more unique peculiar vehicle and its better thsn the grom and is very quirked and featured in comparison. So 4950 seems like a lot but its kinda bang on the money in a way. At least in our current economy my brother. Keel in mind the farther you live from the thailand factory the more the bike will cost.

@@jtec99 they tried to play a little games yeah i set my card so they couldnt charge over 4999 and they charged 5214 it declined i got them to get it to 4950 by coming back a day later someone else was in sales and told me i didnt have to pay what they tried to charge me day before. I said 5k kinda crazy for a 125 that used to be 3500 if it was 2018. I didnt want to pay over 4999 they got me through for 4950. The dealer tacked on about 450 for setup their fee plus they wanted 100 for the honor of being the middle man. I still have to pay about 198 bucks in sales tax plis im sure theyll snag another 100 off me for a years worth of registration. So its steep but after tax title tax insurance the break in oil changes and a couple gallons of gas i should be in under 5450. 4950 for the bike after the dealer suckin my money out, and about 450 should be plenty for my sales tax and registration for the plate theyll give me after paying the registration. To me its steep for a 125 but we are in a banana republic of failed states brother. In europe a guy in germwmt told.me by the timr they got off the blat and all their inhuman carbon taxes and fees they wanted 9k and he refused and walked away. In 2039 it migjt be a 10k bike here in usa also brother. In 2040 2050 they wont be any cheaper. We have a dystopian nigjtmare future ahead of us. I dont think the bike will get ant cheaper. Mayhe if trumo geysnin and drills for oil again itll go back down a little because making the same plastic and created thr frame will cost less. The ship will have chesper fuel to burn coming from thailand to usa it could knock off a couple hundred bucks a unit again but am i going to wait a year for trumps policies to get enacted to save 500 bucks? Nah. Maybe if i was building a house because it would be worth waiting a year to buy material cheaper but its a cheap bike its going to cost 4750 under trump and 5500 under biden by the time everything is paid for and gassed up and insured and oil changed. I needed transportation now brother and i am doing a lot of important things in my local area so to me it was worth buying compared to an identically valued used accord or civic or camry or corolla. Im a motorcyclist i bought a mountain of hot ones handwarmers and shoe warmers and body panel sized ones so i can ride through the winter because the worst of winter only lasts about 2 months for me you really suffer through it and then its the best riding enviorment for thr rest of the year. I like to do things like doordash as well as bop around toen trying to find where the homeless are hiding out at so i cam feed em a cheap meal, i like to explore also and just ride around. I jad an accord before to travel to texas and back in the winter it was nive but man im a single guy in my 20s still i got no wife ni kids so a family sedan kinda brutal on my pocket. I tried doordashing in the v6 accord i made some money but a shitload went to literally just pumping gasoline. Now with this scooter when im just exploring in my free timd i csn deliver a fellas mcdoanlds and feed the needy on my adventures and ill actually be abke to afford to still pump gas. This bike is so cheap when i had mt accord i couldmt afford a hotel now i will be able to afford to stay at my local hotels im gonns stay at each one until i find the one i like most. So i mean its all about perspective. I paid 4k for a 2008 kawasaki vulcan 1600 with 3000 miles on it bacm in 2018 but 2 years later covid hit i needed emergemcy funds had to sell it for half fast 😔 it was also a terrible daily rider way better for cross country type riding. Trail 125 way better for what im actually uo to in my area in the real world. I was able to bite the bullet in 5k for a 125cc because the insursnce and gas is so cheap i save over 100 bucks a month on that AT LEAST. So in no time itll have been worth it. When i sell tbe bike in 3-5 years ill get most my money back so i felt that also helped justify the 5k cost of a 125cc which to me is crazy. The overall bikenis good its not just about the cc. The overall bike is a very good bike its not a junker honda really did a slick job on it. Its a well put togrther well thought through bike. I can get it wherever i need it to go. I missed out for 5 years I couldnt hit the trail after selling a 4 wheeler i got an old accord for beatingnon long trips butnit was expensive in terms of the monthly bills after buying the car. 5k buys a 15 year old accord that needs amature work to fix up and thats a good deal but the same 5k buys a 2024 brand nee motorcycle that gets 125 mpg, led all around abs skid plate kickstart high snorkle intake luggage rack, a lot of thisnstuff is aftermarlet on a lot of bikes so it shows how with these bikes you do get bang for buck. 5k buys a 2024 nownim rollimg around in a 2024 vehicle thats newer than anything else ive ever owned. To me thats worth it. The year warentee incase theres any manufaturing flaws that pop up or what if i have an unsual and abnormal seal or gasket bust its nice to have that warentee and being on a ride that hasnt been beat on for 15 years andnit actually costs me less on a monthly basis

All used bikes in my area are sold at near MSRP ever since COVID. There are NO "cheap used bikes" near me. So a brand new cheap bike is the only option.

Man i wish! Around here in Michigan people are wanting $4k~ for a used TW200! Wanted to get one for my sister since shes on the short side but wants to ride trails with us. Cant even touch a used one under $4k. May as well buy it new for $1k more. I really don't get what the resellers are thinking, but since theyre all around that price I assume people must actually be buying at that price

I would never touch this bike with a 10 foot pole. I don't care how cheap it is. If you like working on your bike rather than riding it then this bike is for you. It is just a cheap Chinese knockoff of the CT 125.

The honda trail 125 i peeked into its loins, deep its its guts in my garage and im impressed how honda buttons down the engineering on the insidd as much as the oitside its really slick outside and its well organized and engineered internally. I noticed they use reusable clips making the panels easier to deal with. Inside places like the internal battery it has its own cover held im by 2 allen bolts but they have a clip on the internal cover so that you can pop it on and the clip piece will hold the cover in place so you have both your hands to screw the bolts back on to secure the batteries cover. They dont cut corners they made it easier to work on the battery. The internal battery cover can hold itself in place so you dont have to hold it with one hand and screw with another they made it clip just right so you can have both hands free for screwing the bolts back in. Its internal frame is pretty thick and beefy. The componets lime the rack that goes imhetween your legs from thailand, it doesnt come.with the rack dactory but internally theneay the frame is made its made specifically to acceot just such an accessory you arent screwing yiur rack into a weak little metal piece designed to only hold plastic cover its actually a beefy frame piece you bolt these parts onto its a very wel engineered motorvycle. 5k kinda steep but you compare the honda grom and now yiu cam see why it cost 5k and how its clearly worth it. The overall package deal from the factory matters. How it gets crazy mpg way low insurance and is a utility bike swiss army knife kind of bike. You look at secondary market resale value in 5 years if you sell it for 3750 3500 you lose very little money and you see how it actually is a great deal you lose very little in the long run. The trail 125 you pay 5k in 5 years you sell for 3000-3750. The wolf you pay 3000 and in 5 years maybe someone will pay you 1000 for it if youre lucky i think. So you pay more to buy the trail but its for a reason youll actually lose less in a trail 125 in depriciation than a grom a wolf125 a xr150 a crf300 a klx300 a xt250. It costs more because people want them. They hold more value in used market whuch matters a lot because how much you gey back reselling helps justify paying 5k for a 125. You have to add up the whole oackage deal the big picture. Heel toe shift, metal fender, leds all around, trail rated, fuel guage, big sturdy luggage rack, high lift exhuast, high lift snorkle air intake, abs front wheel, handlebars with a decent rise that isnt too agressive for sitting or standing but gold for both. Also i noticed when i accidentally kept hitting tbe horn when i was first getting used to the trail its actually loud for a minimoto horn i was suprised. You gey big diameter tires the grom monley dax dont get. The mudflap. It all adds up man. The front wheel abs is a big deal fuel injection its a very modern bike. The honda cuts no corners honda even took more than a fee extra steps to make the trail esspecially unique peculair quirked and featured. The chinese bikes they cut all the corners every corner if it can be cut they will. They will use crap copper in the wires with crap insulation in them. They do carburated they do halogens and the blinker housing.are cheap chinese mass produced blinker housings like you see on the xr150. It makes entery cost lower thats good sometimes maybe you be thankful to have chinese blinkers rather than none at all butnrhentrail 125 has trail specific unique square blinkers they look much higher quality than the chinese stuff. Honda uses higher quality rubbers than china often times. The trail has a very unique full led headlight with a halo ring its good shit man. To me i think the trail 125 is the best honda ever made. Few moving parts, affordability, uniqueness, capabilities. Its an impressive bike in person more than online. Having gotten to knownthentrail 125 now riding it for a week getting to actually peek into its loins i threw some light vaseline petroleum jelly onto my battery terminals so the oxygen is blocked and cant corrode so i wont have starting issues. Highly reccomend doing that to the terminals just tale a little bit of vaseline and rub it on the terminal so air cannot contact they wont corrode and block the electricity giving starting issues. I do that to all my vehicle batteries chatgpt told me its safe to do even on the trail specifically The trail 125 is good inside and out. To me i knew what i was getting into and i expected to not be able to pull over 50mph in the trail amd that was fine for me to get where im going and do what i need to do if it can hit 50 and stay there butni was suprised to see on stock sprokets still in the first 200 miles of the 600 break in i can pull lto 52 53 i even hit 54 so it can go into a 55mph zone 😂 it can do it. Man its a good bike for around town and exploring the trails.
