CSI: NY (Crime Scene Investigation: New York, stylized as CSI: NY/Crime Scene Investigation) is an American police procedural television series that ran on CBS from September 22, 2004, to February 22, 2013, for a total of nine seasons and 197 original episodes. The show follows the investigations of a team of NYPD forensic scientists and police officers identified as "Crime Scene Investigators" (instead of the actual title of "Crime Scene Unit Forensic Technicians" (CSU)) as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual deaths, as well as other crimes. The series is an indirect spin-off from the veteran series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and a direct spin-off from CSI: Miami, during an episode in which several of the CSI: NY characters made their first appearances. It is the third series in the CSI franchise.

Both Gary Sinise and Mykelti Williamson played both a role in the movie 'Forrest Gump'. Sela Ward played later a role in the serie 'FBI' together with an other former CSI-castmember Alana De La Garza, who played the role of Marisol Delko/Marisol Delko Kane in CSI: MIAMI. And Natalie Martinez played a role in the movie 'Death Race' who had also a former CSI-castmember in it, which is Robert Lasardo who played the role of Memmo Fierro in CSI: MIAMI.

When Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera) left CSI: NY, I stopped watching. But what I did like were the different story arcs around a character or the team. For example, Mac Taylor had a story arc around the '333' caller, Stella Bonasera had a story arc around the theft of Greek antiques, and the entire team also had a story arc around the 'Compass Killer'. Only I don't know which team member fits the story arc around the suspect Sean Casey, because everyone was involved in the case.
