@@Yonuc2 The darkness of the two centuries is the darkness of the ages, would you say? I think the ascendancy of the Gospel up until the onslaught of the Renaissance and the Enlightenment ("Enlightenment") made way for the dual attack of the assertions of Darwin and Marx. These made the 20th and 21st century, I think.

A less intellectual response to this brilliant talk goes like this, there is no difference between an atheist and an agnostic, while the belief between them is distinct their behavior is about the same.

Well with how modern atheists try to define their atheism as a lack of belief, which is definitively what an agnostic actually has, a not knowing or lack of belief, they fall in the same trap of pre totalitarian linguistic manipulation which we are seeing infecting the entire world now. Primarily concentrated in the West though. It's just an attempt at using either ill-defined terms or purposely manipulating language to hide behind their lack of sufficient arguments to back up their beliefs. We're living in a merger of 1984 and A Brave New World and it's unfortunately going to get worse. Like God's word says, they will call evil good and good, evil. Anyways God bless you!

As great as Lewis is, he can be make one believe that The Truth, be it manifested as scientific or any other facts, is not ultimately a Person, but rather is attainable by human cognition.

Amen JC. Isa 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. None of that is to say we shouldn’t raise our thoughts, or that we should be irrational very often, but only that we must not think we can know Him fully via intellect. Paradoxes abound in the Light of the world.

Ah, this was before the linguistic turn, Foucault and Derrida and the grand parade of the new scepticism. Foucault was and remains in my mind the total ruin of hope where science itself is subjected to the scepticism of naturalism or modernism. Still going strong, this empirical obsession with our bodies and the larger body of matter. The real problem with all the post theories is the total loss of the subjective self suggests that there is nothing but the subjective. It eats its own rationality as it moves forward to uncover "pure" objectivity trough these subjective observers. I was told by my academic advisor that I "discovered" the major problem with the whole post modern thing. But here, before the turn Lewis has uncovered the same basic problem. The postmoderns, the post theorists in general are not as new as the academics would have us believe. This was my own focus in college This post theory world is not so new. Grief and battlefield rage (berserker PTSD) are equal in this too, a total loss of all hope. Watching the watcher watch the watcher until like Foucault the watcher is too stoned on hashish to move in any direction other than personal pleasure

One Evidence that the scientific method is consistent with Christianity over naturalism: Both men in the debate for deserving credit for developing the scientific method were both very devout Christians. (Galileo and Bacon). It would be a bit odd then if the scientific method was inconsistent with belief in miracles. Or for that matter the fields of science, basically all of which were founded and developed by devout Christians.

If you mean immediately that depends on the nature of the encounter. If you mean long-term, as I am ask Him the meaning of life and what must be done to improve life and fix issues and ask Him what He wishes of me. I say this in the ideal, the truth is a battle against myself for service of God and my fellow man. A slow death to the little king so the Eternal King may reign. Erasing my pitiful written story to see the story of the Author of Life. And amen, thank Him. Thanks be to God. Amen.

"those other fairy tales are made up but mine is totally different, trust me" god could have chosen any genre to write his stories in - why did he choose a genre that is usually recognized to be fictional?

It seems like it would be god's fault in this circumstance. I was referring to other religions. Why does god allow these lies to propagate, knowing that they muddy the waters?
