Simply put whatever we do as Christians we should do for the glory of God. I remind those who work for or along side me that I work knowing that God has provided my job and set long ago how to work (hard, diligent and with integrity) also how many days a week 6 rest on the 7th. Yes there's more to it than that such as being content in all circumstances ( apostle Paul) and most importantly sharing the gospel with gentleness and compassion all while being unashamed and bold in doing so. God's comfort and peace to you all✝️🛐🔥🎯💪🏼‼️‼️

Do we enjoy things for our personal pleasures alone or do we enjoy it for what it is? The ladder being the more healthy and unfortunately the one biggest industry I see failing because of this are video games. In the early days late 90s early 2000s when I grew up playing video games with a mix of outdoor activities most of those video games I played were enjoyable not because they were purely made for my consumption, but because I enjoyed them for what *They* Were. These days video games are completely dependent on passions ask most people in this industry and people that play it is very much a Consumer attitude in the highest degree ,very little if at all these days for a video game that actually breaks through and is Genuinely appreciated for what it *Is*. Not just for pure consumption which I I'm also unfortunately guilty of it later years. C.S Lewis continues to stun me with how on point he is, a spiritual sniper to this day. And I think the whole video game industry is doomed to fail if it keeps the up not only with the attitude video games are to be for my pure consumption and not to be a reflection of Good aesthetics. Is the inverted idea of Sjw politics Weaseling their way into this platform, an unhealthy Aesthetics Divorced from any Christian Symbolism and not just in video games but in most of this Cooperate hell we've found ourselves in.

Well stated facts my friend ! If one looks long and hard enough the tapestry unfolds to reveal the true causes and timeline of our demise

Agree with you. Games are not being made for what they are, but with the sole purpose of producing income, well at least most of them. This purely because all the original aas made not for profit, but because the people making them found the whole experience enjoyable for themselves also. Then the by product was them making a lot of money.

I have extraordinary understanding, and the clearest of enlightenment by the quality of Mr. Lewis's thinking, his ability to so exactly parable to the audience's time, the same teachings, and the reading is some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of long experience with. Thank you very much, almost like reading it myself, but with a much finer tone and accent.

For those who truly listen…he once again pulls back the curtain to reveal clearly the weird little selfishness behind it. It’s remarkable that he can do this over and over. The greatest thinker of all time.

A change from works based on what people need and enjoy and the function of everything around it, towards a tendency of valuing works the opposite way; it's not about what people need or enjoy anymore, but how much money can we get out of people with said works, that is the priority now. And with the internet this mindset is dialed and intensified even more. At least now, not when it started. This mindset for long enough and without God to help us, inevitably leads to insanity. For we christians realize that God is what we need and helps us everywhere we go, and the works we do are meaningless without faith in God🙏

A fallen world for sure, me included. I fear it is just getting worse and worse and blaming systems, politicians, etc is not the solution. I feel he is just stating how he perceives things happening. Would have been interesting what he would say if he was alive today.

Lewis is good BUT it remains a fact that the best argument that God does not exist is that America does exist.

How is that a good argument?

This seems like such an odd essay for Lewis. It feels very much like a whine session with him going on about what's wrong with the world according to him. It's obvious that he was very much seeing the changes brought on by WW2 and the proliferation of capitalism and wasn't sure how to deal with it. But I guess he's no different than many others who simply have difficulties dealing with change. Although I don't totally disagree with him, but I don't totally agree with him either. Capitalism; spending money you don't have, to buy things you don't need, helping people you don't know...get rich.
