Bhopping was much easier in CSS, so much that they implemented plugins on private community servers that would limit how well u could bhop, called "zblock". Phoon was so good he not only bypassed zblock but was literally confirmed by admins to be legit. This guy is a legend and there has never been another player like him.

The thing is, I'm playing CS since 2002, I'm saying this just to give you some context for what I'm about to say so you don't think I'm a 12 year old kid who hasn't heard of phoon. I don't know him personally but I have heard of him and seen his videos even back in the days. Now, since most of my experience is in the GoldSrc engine and not in the source engine I will not say I'm 100% sure that he is scripting but if you watch other KZ pros you will see that nobody can get such velocity without an amx mod on the server or a script. Run a fresh installed game, only thing you can adjust at best is airaccelerate, although to be fair you have to set it to match the competitive level and sidespeed, forwardspeed etc. Have you seen anyone else reaching such velocity to jump half across the map with one single jump, at some points he barely even strafes for example the tight spots on de_train.

Yeah you did a few hours of research and think you're smart but what you don't seem to understand is that bunnyhopping was VERY different back in the day. SUBSTANTIALLY easier in fact. Phoon just happened to master it before anyone else. he was almost the sole reason it got nerfed in source. Players saw his video and before long others were able to replicate. Recognizing that it harmed game integrity since the skill gap for it was so unbelievably high, valve cracked down on it in fear it would ruin the game. Phoon was, is, and always will be a legend. His movement skill was unmatched. No one expects some millennial that's never booted up the game before the patch to understand. you were legit in diapers when this shit was relevant if you were even alive. IF that aint the case you are legit the dumbest player i've ever seen speak up.

The video was recorded between 27 y 28 to june of 2010 and March 8 and 9, 2013. On March 9, I can tell you the time I was playing, 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.... I know that because that was the last day I played, and the last map I played was Mirage, ,,, I only have 7 hours of playing cs source, so I can tell you perfectly what time I played those games, if I'm not a phoon how do I know what time the videos were recorded?? Another thing, that was the second day. I only played on March 8 and 9 and from there the video came out, even if I knew that they were recording me, the person who uploaded the video, if it is the one who recorded it, knows perfectly well that what I say is true, and he can only know it phoon,, I'm Phoon, I'm Spanish, and you can't change that by writing nonsense here.

Big Yoshi this guy proved his hopping skills in lan and also because of him csgo doesn’t have consistent bhop system. They removed it only because of Phoon. Can you believe how good can you be to force the devs to make a big change in game? In a game like cs? That good was Phoon, he wasn’t gifted with good aim but he sure hell was gifted with good movements. Aside from good aim people will talk about good movement which is important for csgo and to be able to take frags and the only reason why people talked about it because of Phoon. This honest to god might be the greatest counter strike montage of all time. The legend presents a serious glitch and pushes it do a boundary unlike no other. The music in the beginning is pure perfection. Fancy effects like speeding up a clip or having a different pov is used when it’s actually needed. There are no special filters or lens flares in the video. It includes a couple people genuinely in rage or confusion in voice chat. It’s actually perfect, this is what a montage is at its peak.

He was absolutely scripting. This was in response to zblock being implemented so he put together this montage. Almost everyone who was a pro from the time agrees that he was a great b-hopper but abused scripts a lot. This is an example of that.

Actual answer from an og css player here, prepatch css was hella busted. This kind of bhopping was hard but possible with correct strafing, which he does. Also spread wasn't a big problem, a huge issue for 1.6 pros back then. It happened again in the early days of cs2, look at some bhop clips on there ^^
