CAPTURING THE RAILS IS NOW CTR AERIAL!! Please subscribe for new drone footage uploaded every week!
Having just graduated high school a couple weeks earlier, my railfanning opportunities increased. While my job took up a lot of time on weekends and most weekdays...I usually always had Thursdays off, so I usually spent those days driving around to various locations. On this particular day I spent the late morning/afternoon on the CSX Philadelphia Sub in Havre de Grace, MD. While not terribly busy I did manage to catch a few trains. Of note is the BN green leader on the mixed freight and the rare loaded coal train. The coal trains on the Philly Sub were fairly sporadic (I believe they went to a power plant in New Jersey) and I am pretty sure they no longer run.
Upon getting tired of waiting on CSX, I paid the monster toll on the Route 40 Susquehanna River Bridge and headed over to the Perryville Amtrak station, where I caught the usual cast of characters, including a few of the evening MARC commuter trains.
Finally I made a run over the Philly Sub again, this time to the East Aiken siding adjacent to the B&O Holly Tree park. I believe this was the first time I visited this location (and certainly not the last). I only caught a single train, a very short manifest, with same power set that I saw earlier in the day.
