I tried to catch it here in Maryland but it never showed up.

I counted 243 cars. Don't know if that's accurate, but MAN... that's easily the longest manifests freight I've ever seen. Surprised they didn't have a DPU in the consist!
@trainman19718 жыл бұрын
That was a good count. We don't do DPU's in the area I am in. As of now, they only do DPU operations on certain trains in the mountains around Cumberland, MD.

Right in my own back yard! What time did this come through? I'm pretty sure I saw it.

why are some of the csx radios staticky?
@southeasternpennsylvaniara15886 жыл бұрын
Because if the train is to far away from where the feed is getting scanned for radio apps the radio gets staticky.

I'll have to play it a few times to count the cars, unless someone here has already done it. I'd hate to get to a crossing just as it started coming through.

I looked it up in the system at work overnight. 243 cars, give or take a few....

and the whole train wasn't loaded mostly empty tankers and the lumber racks were empty it it was full it would have used pushers
@trainman19717 жыл бұрын
We don't use pushers out of Philly for anything. Even if there were more loads on that train. And I've run some heavy stuff out of there since then. Incidentally, I'd looked up the profile for that train before I left work (it was about to depart when I left, but went into emergency at that point). I had JUST enough time to get home 45 minutes away in the opposite direction, get my camera, head back down, pick up a friend, and make it to that spot in two and a half hours, still to wait an hour before it finally got through. There were more loads than empties on it overall. Not by much, but heavy enough.

Hopefully this train didn't go through that crossing in Darby where it intersects with the 11. That would have pissed off a lot of motorists and 11 riders for sure.
@trainman19718 жыл бұрын
Guess which crossing it would have STILL been passing through during at least the first four minutes of the video! :D
@janettemcclelland29598 жыл бұрын
trainman1971 THAT one! Which was why; when that train was passing the Darby Diamond,the SEPTA Twitter feed mentioned the 11 turning back at Woodland and Island and buses the rest of the way. :D
@trainman19718 жыл бұрын
LOL! :D There actually was some track work going on in the vicinity of the diamond the day before that had trolleys turning back.
@janettemcclelland29598 жыл бұрын
trainman1971 I think so. I hadn't checked my feed earlier in the day while I was at work. That crossing has a lot of problems and delays the 11.
