On the flip side of that lots of doctors and medical facilities have been sued for preforming it electively on a young adult as a form of birth control for them to regret it due to the medical side effects and the regret of changing their mind later in life

Vassy, we have age of consent for sex. We have age requirements to drink. We have age restrictions for being able to drive a car, etc. Why wouldn't we have rules in place to protect a young mind from making an irreversible decision with their body? You yourself are a parent. Would you be ok with government facilitating anything with your child without your consent or knowledge? The answer is no. Alberta has this right. A child should be of age and knowledgeable of all the factors involved with making such a life decision. Until then, we should protect them. Like the song says, "Hey! Teacher! leave those kids alone!"
