Okay, 1st time owning a cub cadet mower, so after watching this ,I am going to see how well I do taking off the gas tank, seems simple enough, thanx😊

For a gas tank it is a pain to get out but just take your time, you got this.

Help. 77 yr old lady with cub cadet xt1 50. Changed air filter and oil filter. No prob. Oil changed. Great but now I see line from top of gas tank threaded to air filter area loose, not attached to anything. Where does it get attached? Have looked in and around air filter area but all I see is shiny prong silver in color.
@MowerMike6 ай бұрын
My guess is that is the fuel line that goes to the fuel pump. Look on the outside of the plastic engine cover and see if there is a round plastic disc looking thing. That is the fuel pump, it will have three prongs on it. Shove that loose line on which ever nub doesn’t have a hose hooked to it.
@darlabey87466 ай бұрын
Thank you fir answering. The fuel line has fuel filter on it and is on right side of engine as I face fuel tank. I know it's hard to answer when you can't see the line. This line appears to be vent line. It comes out of middle of top of gas tank. Threads down left side of engine and then is hanging under air filter area . I will definitely double check according to your instructions.

@@darlabey8746 I got ya. I don’t have one of these engines infront of me. But there is a vent I take nub that it goes on that will be somewhere around the intake behind the air filter. Or maybe there is a nub on the oil filler pipe. What brand engine is it?

Thank u for sharing!! I don't need to replace the tank on my cub but I was going to try to replace my carb. I removed all bolts on plastic engine housing and then discovered that the gas tank was in the way!!! Am I missing something obvious, or do I have to remove gas tank to get engine cover off!!?? That seems crazy.... Love ur humor!
@MowerMike2 жыл бұрын
Yep it is a horrible design, you have to remove the tank before you can get the engine cover off.
@donatellatorricelli63942 жыл бұрын
Thanx! Got the tank out without much trouble but when I removed the engine cover I freaked out. I'm a complete novice so I'm off to view ur video (a few times!) on replacing the carb. Hope I can work up the courage to tackle the unknown. The throttle linkage and spring rod thingy scare me. They look so fragile and tricky to manipulate. Local shop has a 5 week wait and wants at least $400 to repair so I have to face the challenge! Thank u again for sharing ur knowledge and humor!!

@@donatellatorricelli6394 You got this just make sure not to bend or force anything and take pictures of the linkages before you take them off. Also don’t forget to put on new gaskets

I am a 75 yr old female and your tutorial was spot on. I am now a dyier so KZbin is now my go to site to fix things around the house. I did have some difficulty with 3 of the bolts. I did not have the right extender for my racket wrench. But I got it in and out. Thank you for taking the time to post.

Glad it helped! Those tanks on these Cadets are very frustrating to install that is why I made a video.

Mines in the rear. Leaves near the rubber line/well thats ots low spot sky way. Acts like ots clogged. I'll pull off the line under there. Reinstskk/goes for another 3p min. Thanks I'll wait for the repair

some mowers with rear tank have about 4 bolts to remove the floor pan easily, line under it.

Great Cub Cadet LTX content Mike, very helpful. I'm curious, do you know why the fuel line on the LTX1042kw from the tank to the fuel filter is so long? My guess is that they wanted to have one part number for all engines in the LTX and one of the engine needs that length. Seems so long for the Kawasaki engine though, the fuel filter is almost on the floor underneath the tank.
