That is what is called crime against humamity killing out the people softly. The people do not want to be governed by an american system. That has been th main reason of the revolution. The def of the revolution is fuck the american system and keep cuba for the cubans .Why cant America respect that! That gives you no reason to block their economy. America is a satanic power and nothing else. There is no reason america could come up with to justify their crimes against humanity! And now that all is going wrong in cuba, America does not want any of the blame and want to stick their head in the dirt wwth their ass up in the air as if they have nothing to do with the many sufferings in cuba. Love your videos. I still have family in Cuba, my mother is Cuban. I would love to help the Cuban people but I will never set foot in Cuba. My grandfather saved his family from the Castro revolution,he left first in 1960 then with much difficulty found a way of bringing his wife and kids to the U.S. then Puerto Rico. He worked hard to give us a good life. He was an excellent example of strength and perseverance. My grandfather and grandmother missed Cuba every single day of their lives but vowed to never return and give Fidel or anyone associated with him a single penny after what they did to our family. During the revolution the Castro regime took everything my grandparents had and tore the family apart. Those things may have happened a long time ago but I still remember my grandmother crying while gathering medication and money to send her family in Cuba . I remember all of the stories my grandfather used to tell me. So no Cuba for me. To me it’s a symbol of loss and sadness. Not a place to take advantage of because of the dire situation the whole island is in.

I've heard this story a million times from a million Cuban families that left. I don't know if this is the case with your family, but with many families that had their stuff taken, they were rich slaveowning colonials. Hello Keenan, from Colorado! Thank you soooo much for this super informative video! Havana and Beirut have been on my bucket list for my whole life!! I'm guessing I won't get to Beirut, but Havana is in reach! I love the culture and great humans you have highlighted here! QUESTION: Do you have a video about getting the permissions or visas to go to Cuba? My brain is stuck in time; I'm under the impression it needs to be a religious or cultural based trip? My Spanish is not so great. But, I do go off of body language and really try to work through it! Back in the 80s, half of my grade schooling was down in Panama because my dad was in the Army. I LOVED it; and no doubt, Cuba would be just as fulfilling. The one component that I feel I'd miss there is that I really enjoy meeting people and talking to whoever wants to talk . It is fascinating to hear their stories. So, I'd have to work hard to get the jist. I really enjoy live music! Yes...there are genres that I don't listen to as much. But, when it is live, I love all of it! It looks like it would be no problem to soak in the music there in Cuba. Safe travels!

@@OmarOsman98 Cuba is not like other countries..! 1,000 USD a month is a lot compared to the average Cuban salary of $16 dollars a month. What Keenan doesn't say or know is that in Cuba everything is controlled by the government. There are no Hardware Stores, no CVS or Walgreens (the small government pharmacies... mostly bare shelves...) Yes there's internet, albeit limited and highly censored! Therefore you can't buy stuff from Amazon or the likes, even if you can afford it. Cuba is nice to visit though... but the people are definitely NOT as Keenan puts it truly Genuine... It may seem like they are, but the reality is they suffer with REAL hardship on a daily basis, therefore when they see any tourist, some see dollar signs, others see how little they have compared to the rest of the world..! Regardless, they all keep their true feelings hidden. Remember they live in an extremely repressive country, where they can't even express their true opinions. Why would think they would show you, a total stranger, just visiting, their inner true feelings? Genuine? No..! I've traveled to Cuba on several occasions, because I still have family there. On one trip I took along a friend of mine who had never been.. I took him on a tour of where his parents and grandparents lived, to the countryside, where he killed and plucked the chicken he later barbecued and ate. On the last day, he gave away all of his remaining money and even his own clothes to people he barely knew. And when we were at the airport waiting for our return flight? He started crying. I asked him why? He said, because we are leaving and these people have to stay. So yeah. Cuba is wonderful for tourist with money, but not so great if you actually have to live there. Even if you have unlimited amounts of money..? You still can't buy the things you are accustomed to, because they don't have a free market society! The markets are EMPTY..! Enjoy the daily blackouts, the Water shortages (one day yes, then another day none). BTW don't drink the WATER from the tap..! The potholes, the crumbling Building that fall on a daily basis, etc.

Bro K. As one of those 50 plus, Canadians, I have never seen the brown teeth in an adult. Unfortunately I have seen it in children due to a very poor diet. You made a very important point about being taken in a kind and genuine way into HER family. It is genuine in just about all cases. You are her chance to live normally for a few weeks and possibly forever. The family doesn't want a lot from you. Only to treat their daughter with respect like any family would. Another point you made should be heeded. She approaches you, forget it. You approach her and you will be happy. Guys, don't over do it. Steady as she goes. An honest woman will tell you there is much domestic abuse, violence, caused by excessive drinking. Saludos de Canada

Great content Keenan, the only downside to making these vids is they can blow a spot up like you said about Cartagena & Medellin. KZbin probably made those places worse. Probably the best way to avoid is to try and keep fairly even coverage of other countries rather than promote just 1 country. I see you've kinda done that with your channel.

I went to varedero 35 yrs ago by way of Montreal ...so from what I'm gathering you can go there from the U.S. ? Do you need a special permit ? I have a u.s passport ...also I have friends in Canada who also still go to Cuba and they were saying how bad things are getting there ...lack of fruits and veggies and just an all around lack of food in general. I found Cuba had beautiful beaches and it would be super cheap to go there again.

I travel to Cuba via the U.S. and it has been amazing EVERYTIME!!! American United Southwest Delta All you need to do is buy a tourist card at the airport for $100. It will be able at your last connection before Cuba…. Most likely Miami/FLL or Houston. I have traveled to Santiago de Cuba, Matanzas and Havana…. The fruits and veggies are available in the market and taste AMAZING as they’re locally grown…. Not expensive for us but maybe for locals.

OK. I think my trip in July will be to Havana. I'm looking at your content and I'm trying to figure things out. I travel every other month. I'm going to retire in Colombia in about 3 years but I'm still looking at other places to stay for months at a time when I retire. I speak decent Spanish from Brooklyn like you, Brownsville to be exact. I mainly travel solo, law enforcement so I don't need the drama. I will say that trips I do are filled with chicas but I don't just do that. One of my main questions is about the internet and how is the service. If you have any contact info, I appreciate it. Im from Oakland California and I feel the same way you do and the way you explain it that’s how I feel about it. I keep coming back to Cuba is a place where I feel peace and free It’s ironic to say that coming from the US. Next month I should start my process of purchasing an apartment and moving down there. Average flight ticket from San Francisco to Cuba. It’s $800. Once again, I personally appreciate the way you explain things that goes down there and not taking neither side from the political mind between the US and Cuba.
