How could anyone not stand in awe of all that Cuba has accomplished?

It IS pretty shocking to cost $1000 a month but do you suppose it would cost that much for Cubans? If available here, would probably be ten times that or more. But what I meant was - if they are so much poorer than we are, how can they accomplish so much more in medicine and in education?

@@grandmachristine42 Agreed. When you look at Cuba's healthcare accomplishments RELATIVE to the resources they have, Cubans have way outperformed US. Even with a per capita economy 1/7th of the US, Cuba have comparable or higher health outcomes to the US; higher life expectancy, lower infant mortality, etc. And all of this DESPITE the decades-long American embargo and isolation from rest of the world.

Congratulations to CBC being one of the few Western Mainstream media to do this report. When it comes to Cuba, I do not listen to the narrative of the Western Media, but this is rare for one to cover.

I've always wandered why the U.S doesn't have a tax funded biopharma company. I don't mind the private pharmaceutical firms, but I think tax funded ones could create a more stable platform for medicinal development. Also fun fact, Cuba has such a high population of doctors, that people who are too sick to go to the doctor can instead be visited by one since there is a doctor within walking distance of every sick person.
