My dog can eat a McDonald's cheeseburger in one bite, then 30 seconds later he spits out the pickle. I don't know how he does that. The wild possums take some dog food and chew it well. I like those guys.

When you first encounter one of these guys they may look ugly, hiss,show their sharp teeth,or even growl.But I know from experience that they are sweethearts.They are more scared, than anything and just wanna be left alone.It is a blessing to have one visit your yard.

they are also good for the environment and for us as well since they kill and eat lots of pests like rats and ticks. I saw a study that showed a single opossum kills 6000 ticks each per week. These guys need to be paid better than the human pest control guys!

Yes they are adorable. I have a few of them that come to my back deck at night . Yes I couldn’t resist. I put food out for a stray cat but the opossum got there first. They love chicken

you can only have a possum as a pet if its unable to be released in to the wild or if its physsically disabled, best way to interact with possums is to look after orphaned baby one's but sooner or later you have to release them as they are still wild animals after all, even if they are cute

My grandma gave me an old book called Persimmon Jim about the life of a possum told from the possum's point of view. He goes walking through the woods, climbing fences, looking for a mate. He gets captured but he's so cute the man let's him go. I've always loved possums after reading that book!

I have several possums in my garden, we feed and housed them in nesting wooden boxes. They are so sweet and adorable.

My math teacher Mrs. Swope said she found a possum in her house eating the pet's food. She hit the possum. Then it just looked up at her and jumped and hung itself on the ceiling by its own tail where it couldn't be hit.

I'm a little jealous here. This opossum is particularly cute. My sister found a dead momma in the middle of a road 2 years ago and she mindfully checked the momma's pouch and discovered 5 babies, which she promptly brought home. The babies were the most darling little critters and we gave them lots of love and warmth until a rescue center agreed to take them. We knew not to try and feed them from a previous encounter. They're magnificent little creatures and extremely beneficial to humans and other animals.
