WrestleMania 3 had a phenomenal build up. Half of the card was literally built up for almost an entire year. WrestleMania 17 as well, which is considered to be the greatest WrestleMania event.

One of my earliest memories of watching wrestling is the angle between Macho Man & Rick Flair. Especially when Flair accompanied by Mr Perfect were showing off the pictures of him & Ms Elizabeth. My little mind was being blown, then immediately thinking to myself that the Macho Man's eyes might actually pop out of his head lol.

the build for Rock/Austin at WM17 was beyond legendary. it encapsulated that time almost perfectly - two mega stars at the peak of the wrestling boom, the intensity, the promos, the soap opera elements, Limp Bizkit! The fact that the match itself delivered on all levels too only solidified its legacy, although in hindsight we can say the ending was a mistake. one thing WWE got very right was keeping Rock vs Austin matches only for their biggest occasions.

That Daniel Bryan win was the last time I child-like celebrated pro wrasslin'. Me and my cousin watched as kids and, after a few years out, got back into it in the late 90's. But that Daniel Bryan win, man, it was like Bulldog beating Bret at Wembley or something. An actual celebration like a goal going in, haha.

The match itself wasn't bad, but they had to go out after HBK vs Taker. There was no match that could have topped that.

The issue was they had a grudge match build and then had a regular wrestling match it should’ve had bells and whistles added

I still say that angle should not only have been earlier, but start with HHH immediately losing on purpose kicking Orton in the balls and beating him with a weapon. It being clear he only cares about vengeance and is going to make sure Orton doesn't get to have the title as he planned by ending his career or at least hurting him enough to have to vacate it. The match then proceeds as a very violent unsanctioned hardcore match with Orton effectively trying to KO HHH before HHH ends his career. The affair ending with Orton getting so hurt he has to vacate the title and take a little time off, coming back later for revenge. That would have been fantastic and show a dark permutation of the Game outsmarting the situation.

The big problem I have with the promo package is that it has almost a full minute of it is devoted to Debra and that part of it suuuuuuucks. I love the rest of it but that part makes me place others above it like the monster video for Daniel Bryan at WM30 and the running up that hill promo package for Michaels vs. Undertaker at WM26

I'll never forget that Hogan vs Warrior face off at the Rumble for as long as I live. I remember I was with my dad and we went to a friend of his place who had orded it on pay-per-view. The guy's dad was also there and for a good section of the actually rumble the grown ups all went to the kitchen to have some beers and chat. Then that happened and I yell "It's Hulk Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior!" And the three of them come running back into the room going "WHAT?!" and just stared with me in disbelief at what was happening.

Sorry youngsters but this old man has wrestlemania 1 on the list. The build up to Hogan MrT vs Piper Orndorff was epic. All be it nobody knew how big it would've turned into. It had everyone buzzing with anticipation. From Ali guest outside ref to Billy Marten time keeping to snuka/Orton at ringside. It was very well orchestrated! Just an old man opinion.

Seeing Rock/Austin II in the top three would’ve been enough, but to see the main event in what’s still my favorite WM at the number one spot was great. It was just a month, but(as you mentioned) the sit down interview, then the execution of each other’s finishing moves in the following weeks, & that very aggressive beer toast was just an awesome way to boil over aggression in a main event between the two hottest faces of the company.
