Surprised Jack didn't mention Jeff Hardy dropped the Intercontinental title to Jericho because of a second wellness violation. He had to serve 60 days suspension and because of it CM Punk also got his spot as MITB winner at Mania 24

No Mercy 2007 could work as a weirdest wrestling show. Three Triple H WWE Title matches, CM Punk vs Big Daddy V for the ECW Championship, Batista vs the Great Khali in a Punjabi Prison match for the World Heavyweight Championship and a Pizza Eating Contest between Matt Hardy and MVP. Also Trump Raw from 2009, the first commercial-free Raw after Donald Trump bought Raw from Vince McMahon, which still features plenty of advertising. Capitol Punishment 2011 features a speech from a Barack Obama impersonator and R-Truth vs John Cena in the main event.

I was just a child in 2008, but My Dad tells me things about this era in wrestling in special. He said there's a lot of good and entertaining things during these years (about 1998 to 2009) in pro-wrestling, but there's a lot, a lot (I love the way He put emphasis on this "a lot"!) of weird stuff, weird shows, weird matches, weird promos, weird gimmicks, a lot of weird things in all imaginable ways happening all the time in WWE/WCW/TNA/ECW. And, surprisingly, He said that's was a very enjoyable and entertaining time to watch pro-wrestling, much more than today. Because, well was "a time with weird things", not necessary "a time with bad things" in pro-wrestling.

11:44 Wrestlers do that pretty often. Especially in Japan. Like Anthony Henry and Shibata recently had a match where like 4-5min of it was them actually grappling, doing a mix of basically BJJ, Judo, and freestyle wrestling. Real grapple moments happen pretty often during matches, if they get a sub hold, they just let the opponent out. Bryan Danielson rolls with people a lot in matches, Mox has started to do it more now that he’s more into BJJ. Kenny and Ospreay had a good exchange of real grappling in their match.
