The crowd didn’t riot at that Rumble with Roman, they physically left for the doorways. I was there and once his music hit I’ve literally never seen a mass exodus like that at any wrestling event.

Years of controversy and hate to build it up then making the fans (me included) thinking that it was about to be paid off with an epic and unexpected return only for the rug to pulled at the last second. It was OK but overrated. HBK didn't have to work for that heat. They already hated him for something he did for real. He just rubbed it in. Rock in Sacramento/Toronto or Kevin Owens and Elias in Seattle actually had to put in real work and it was far more impressive than Montreal booing HBK because he is a prick in real life

@@ben1ben2ben1 He only had to rub it in, sure, but it's not just about whether the crowd would've hated him anyways. He got them to boo him harder than they ever did before, and *really* laid it on. He could've just settled it with a quick and simple "Haha, I screwed Bret! _(insert local sports team)_ sucks! I'm gonna beat up Hulk Hogan!" and called it a day, but he didn't and that's what made it great.

"Who's Your Daddy, Montreal!" is easily the biggest gatcha moment from the WWE in my opinion. It was also the best thing about Shawn post-return. He could've been a great scumbag heel if he didn't want to remain a face. It was his last, and greatest, heel promo.

anyone who was watching at the time and didn't know it was Vince all along......I don't know what to say. I called it the moment they said there was a higher power. I mean who else COULD it be. WEE-L-C is one of the best matches WWE ever did. fight me. HBK returning to RAW in Montreal. I'll admit for about 5 seconds or so into Bret's music playing I really did think he was coming out and the look on Shawn's face was so believeable. It really was a great moment in RAW even if he was a big middle finger to Canada.
