They were close and that'd probably have been tight... But there isn't much video documentation of them really doing that well together. The biggest thing is that dumb Mancow argument that Burr made an ass of himself and Patrice was being a little bitch about. But nothing that stands out as super rememberable appearances. But it'd probably have been hilarious if they had gotten to make a podcast together. I mean, Burr even made a hilarious show with Joe DeRosa. Joe De-Fucking-Rosa!!!! One of the worst comics I've ever heard with almost 100% bad appearances on radio shows.

@@-8_8- Not sure we need smarter wayward assholes... I listened to Lance Armstrong on Rogan's podcast, and it seems that having been pushed (the FUCK) OUT of cycling is what forced him into being a better human (though still a LOT of scumbag still left in *him*). Unlike Ned, who was never pushed out of shit, and never required to "atone" for anything. Lance, however, was unfairly maligned for his achievements (cycling is dirty as FUCK, and everyone he beat was cheating in the same way). Ned, otoh, IS the fucking dirt. Fuck Ned. If that clown is still rich, I only hope that there's enough left that, should he ever call his own number, he'd choose to hang himself with a golden rope.

The basic issue is although Carlos M can perform the comic material, he's no so good at creating new, original material of his own. And/ or he's insecure about his own stuff, like Pauli Shore, so he just takes others original material. Not funny - outright disrespectful to that comic. That's what fired up Rogan do much. The Diss.

AYO B, "steely dan'd"?
@3serio6 жыл бұрын
This underground Rap Duo (Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz) made a song and in the intro, they used the trumpets from Steely Dan's "Black Cow". So when that song blew up and labels wanted to sign them, and now instead of them just doing the song in person, they recorded it, and started selling the single.....Steely Dan's lawyers were like hol' up...we need 100% publishing since you're making money off of our trumpets that you didn't clear..." paraphrasing of course. Long story short, that single did gangbusters and was an unofficial New York anthem, and they made absolutely nothing off of the sales. (as they shouldn't. Once they got into the professional realm, somebody on whichever record label signed them should've looked into getting the [extremely recognizable] sample cleared. The record label and these guys that made the song would've been that much richer, instead of getting nothing back for the song they created.)
@cullenmeyer32296 жыл бұрын
I feel that sampling sounds from someone else's music shouldn't entitle the original owner of the song to royalties. If I put Mona Lisa on a t shirt do I have to pay royalties if I sell a million t shirts?

Ned is still out there on the road playing the grunt and grind tour so on a level he's still in the game but definitely in survival mode.

Every dude from the 2000s will remember the lineup on Comedy Central. Gold status on South Park. Legendary status for Chappelle's Sow. And then, complete and total shit Carlos Mencia. If he did steal, he stole the wrong shit, because he sucked.
@scottplshelp80956 жыл бұрын
joe garofalo dude so well said. Mencia was like a fuckin herpes wart on comedy.

Patrice would be the No. 1 comic today…maybe the top podcaster. He would be uncancellable (if that’s even a word). My top 3 in any order is Patrice, Burr and Louis CK. As for Rogan, no one wanted to touch him back then, and now everyone wants to be on JRE. One of my Idols.

He’s a bit of a jackass though. He tells people they shouldn’t eat too much pasta cause it’s bad but heavily endorses a sport where you get kicked in the head.
