I’ve had friends and relatives falling away from faith in Jesus Christ like never before. It absolutely breaks my heart. It starts out with things like yoga, Enneagrams, manifestations, and progressive “church,” and ends up with states of deconstruction, divination, and believing they are divine and more spiritual than everyone around them. I’m praying for so many people to wake up, humble themselves, and and be delivered and freed to worship in Truth and Grace.

@@johnmyers6372 as far as I know Nee was probably a christian but very confused and with really bad doctrine. Madame Guyon, I was a new ager before Christ saved me and I see her just as a mystic experiencing all kinds of occultic practices and saying that "all is God" and God is within us and stuff like that only makes her more heretic and occultist, also her mechanic writing.... she was a quietist I think that's the word, sorry I'm Spaniard

I was sooo deep in new age for 2 yrs even after growing up Christian. (law of attraction /the secret/affirmations/visualization/meditation /crystals /tarot... But, one day I broke down in work feeling empty and just depressed for no reason, and the new girl, asked me to come church, so I did, and when there I felt the Full, overwhelming love of God on me. And here I am full blown Christian, closest iv ever been and so much more knowledgeable. He allows these things to happen and uses for his glory. Amen!!!

A question for you. Did you actually believe in the new age stuff or did you just kinda do/learn about it for fun? Because I just think its hokey and collect crystals because they are pretty and do yogo and meditation for mental health reasons. I like doing tarot readings with my friends just to see what they say, but I dont actually believe any of this shit. I'm super curious of your personal experience and I'm kinda wondering if I need to stop messing with all of that stuff even if I dont believe any of it.

@@les2681 Tarot cards/crystals are indeed hokey. And as for meditation? That relies primarily on your intent. The Bible often says to "meditate" on His words so meditation itself is not an occult practice. It's improper meditation done with improper training that can be spiritually damaging. One of the big things I feel Christians are missing nowadays is that. Meditation relies primarily on one's intent so if you were to focus your intent on following God and listening for Him then you're on the right track. At that point, the main problem is distinguishing God's voice from the devil. One key hint for rooting out whether it's a demon speaking is if they mention anything about nature. Nature, otherwise known as Gaia, is an occult name for Lucifer. Focus your intent away from the earth itself and only on the Holy Spirit that inhabits it. Humans are one part spirit/soul and one part flesh. To ignore the spiritual realm out of fear is to ignore God and to believe he cannot shield you from the influences that dwell there.

Steven, I want to publicly repent to you. Though I know you’ll probably never read this. A while back, I saw a video with you as a guest. And I really stumbled with the topic you were talking about. Coming out of New Age, and then the prosperity gospel, I was very very highly guarded with anything that sounded like that. And then seeing you on Sid Roth’s show... I wasn’t sure if you were trying to teach or encourage false doctrine, or not. And I did an immature Christian thing, and I commented saying exactly that. I felt like I slandered you, though it came out of concern, I think I did it inappropriately. It probably wasn’t ever my place to even try to express that concern, and I shouldn’t have done it publicly. I’ve supported you and your KZbin since you came out of New Age, and I thought you were backsliding or something. But I’ve been convicted of making a public spectacle of it. I feel like I slandered you or something, though I don’t think anyone really saw my comment.... God did. So please hear my repentance. Truly maturing in Christ has been a long process for me, and I’m convicted more everyday. You’re a brother in Christ, and I hope your ministry is going well.

@@klemensoeargo8475 of course! I by no means ever claimed to be perfect, or right about everything. And I have no issue admitting when I messed something up. It’s a very deconstructing long process to leave New Age, and the prosperity gospel. And it takes a lot of reading your Bible and listening to very well rooted Preachers, to sort out exactly which way is up, and which is down again. And it takes time. In the beginning, you get a general sense for correct theology yes, because The Gospel is actually really straight forward, when it’s unclouded with corrupt preachers. But you don’t really learn the intricate nuances within theology until you’ve really lived in it for a while, and continually gone deeper and deeper. I’m understanding a lot of the nuances now, and recognized my sin from before. But to answer your question, we do have a local church yes. But I wouldn’t say it has ever helped me regarding my theology studying, I do that on my own at home. The church is a small private Baptist church, the sort of KJ onlyers, etc. I’ve never found church to get into theology at all, that’s why I seek out preachers on here who go deep like Jeff Durban, or Chris Roseborough, and many others. But the church situation in Montana is really overrun with the prosperity gospel, WoF, and NAR, and new age... it’s hard to find a church at all that just teaches the Word simply. I spent about 3 years looking just to find this little Baptist church, all others were PG related. Anyways, I’m sorry I ranted here a bit, but hopefully you understand what I was trying to explain. ♥️

In 1999 Billy Graham in a TV interview with Robert Schuller(it is on KZbin) talked about meeting with people in other countries who were not Christians. Graham said that even though they were not Christians they had a "Christ consciousness" and therefore were right with God. Schuller nodded in agreement. It is sad that the most famous evangelist in the world would say this. That belief is attractive to people such as me. I am half-Japanese. I was born in Japan and have non-Christian relatives there. My Japanese ancestors go back 3,000 years. Of course I would like to say that a cosmic Christ saved them but that is not what the Bible teaches.

What is scary is that Bethel embrace this gnostic angle and encourage their followers to follow this rabbit hole and thus blur the line between Christianity and New Ageism. Only about 30 minutes in, but just had to say that Steven is always such a good teacher. He explains difficult, often opaque concepts in a way that helps you understand what the person holding these views means when they use the terms. And having had personal experience, he also gets underneath the motivations, the reasons why people get into this stuff. I hope he's in a strong church & has much support. The work he does is difficult & with a lot of spiritual opposition. Satan doesn't like it when he loses people to the other side! People need to be praying for him, constantly.

The first Christians believed because they met the man in the flesh. Early Christians believed because He gave his life for them and preached forgiveness even on the cross. Over the years, many were converted on the basis of fear (crusades, Spanish Inquisition, the threat of hell and judgment). But future Christians will believe because they understand His message.

When you get to a private place call upon Jesus and pour your heart out to Him. Repent (admit you've gone astray and that you need His help and ask to be forgiven of your sin Ask Him to guide you and show you the way.) Pray that he would show you the truth and that he would remove the scales from your eyes. Ask Him into your heart to be your Lord and Savior and for His Holy Spirit and He will deliver you. Then fill yourself up with the Word... I would start with the gospel of John. If you have any questions feel free to hit me back. Trust and believe in Him with a sincere heart, be patient and build a relationship with Him and His power, grace and mercy will be undeniable. He loves you brother!

Thank you for having Steven on again. He is 100% right on when saying that in sharing the Gospel we do well to keep circling around to what Jesus says about himself and who he claims to be. Once it can be established that He is God, then His authority as Creator is set. Since He is the Creator of Truth, and is Himself Truth, then everything He says must be reckoned with. Subjective opinions and personal experiences take a back seat to the authoritative Word of God. I’m praying for your valuable ministry to the body of Christ. God bless you all.

I was seeing a Christian counsellor for my depression. I only had a few sessions because I didn’t find him helpful. It was just supposed to be cognitive behavioural therapy (which I think is sound. Just like I’ve seen the principles of Christian substance abuse counseling to be biblical), but watching this, it strikes me how my counsellor had been subtly imbibing new age ideas and practices and incorporating them into his Christian counseling. No wonder it didn’t work for me. Not very truth-based. Although I think the Christian-based twelve step program I attended for awhile was based on good principles, I expect some new age stuff got smuggled in to your group. It happens very subtly.

Less said about them the better. Very low success rate, high number of suicides etc. Sad. All I depend on now is the Bible. I don't trust what's on offer. Although I know my understanding isn’t standard, with all my research I’ve boiled everything down to this notion: 1. Either you believe that we can or have to/would have to save ourselves... or... 2. The one Real, Actual, One True is the only one who can save us (True Christianity). Humanity can’t and never will be good enough to create paradise or achieve self-perfection. God is the only one who can save us and He already has paradise prepared. It’s not something we can make by ourself, if we change our ways to trust His then we can be saved.

I was part of a ethenogenic religion. With strong singers, maracas and drumming we would consume Ayahuasca and worship Jesus and Mary by singing for hours. People would 'recieve' hymns and that would develop into a hymn book. I'm surprised I haven't seen much on the internet of people who leave this cult who become a Christian. It did bring me to Jesus and he saved me from the sorcery of it all. Praise to God and his mercy.

This whole concept of the “Higher Self” being impersonal and formless was one of the biggest areas in my life where I experienced cognitive dissonance in New Ageism. I was born and raised Christian but had a similar journey of being exposed to Ancient Aliens and smoking way too much pot, which led me down a rabbit hole into New Ageism... and I could never feel okay with the idea of us “not existing” because my heart of hearts knew that to be untrue.

I got way into the new age starting in high school when I started going to music festivals, got way into the drug scene for years through that, always searching for spirituality and experience in anything I could. I finally ended up joining the Freemasons a few years ago and by some insanely beautiful providence, the Lord got me out of that and saved me. God is so amazing. Appreciate y’all’s work, Jerry, Andrew and Apologia in general. Been a huge blessing to me in my walk.

This is so good, thanks guys! John Mark Comer recently cited Richard Rohr as an influence to his book/course ‘Practicing the Way’. Tyler Staton and Dr. Tim Mackie (Bible Project) have been supportive of Comer’s work. They are all connected through Bridgetown Church. It’s been so disheartening realizing this - as I have followed them as teachers for a long time. It would be awesome to hear your reflections on this.

This conversation was profound to say the least... People as a general were created by God to worship. And in worshiping and bringing glory to our creator is where we find our true meaning and value. Just like a machine brings glorly and honor to the one that created it and the mind that knitted it together, we also were designed to honor and glorify our King Jesus. And when we make idols and pay respects and worship to something other then the one who deserves it, we instantly by nature are claiming to the world that our life has no value because we give credit to something other than what our existence is drawing us to bring honor to. That in and of itself is the death of your spirit and the dehumanization of mankind. And believe it or not, you have an influence on the world around you and in your circles. And then we see the world turn and tell others, "see, we dont need God in our lives to say that we exist and can perceive" when all the while, we're standing in the temple that that He created to embody His spirit to bring life to us. People dont make idols because they think its valuable and believe they find their worth there because intuitively, Romans 1 says they know God. But they make idols because ultimately they dont want their evil deeds exposed and a little god cant hold them accountable for the sins they commit against the holy God of scripture. The one that knows their deepest thoughts.

Something bugging me since some while, and since you made statement here "there's no real atheist"... I like to ask you for help. Recently I've watched many videos of testimonials from former NA and it's beautiful and heartwarming ( I was lost in it myself), plus signed out to lovely group for former NA, so , I would say it's huge movement world wide for ppl , who're saved from this false teachings, which is fantastic, . What I've noticed, it's similar pattern for ppl - most NA were in some sort of christian denomination before they ( us) veered off to world of occult, and then by Grace of God, we're on way back to His Word, and I see it often. But what's very worrying is multitude of young ppl, who praise scepticism and religion for them is strictly "silly story" it's cult in itself, it's "opium for masses", etc etc, I came across it often on web and it's breaking my heart, so that's to your optimistic statement that, there's no atheists,,, I've seen otherwise, this beautiful, young ppl hate God with passion, or and wont absolutely nothing to do with any kind of "cult" as they put it. I have no clue how to talk to this ppl, if I would say I'm Christian, straight away, I'm no partner to talk, I'm poor sob, who needs psychological help, so I see NA it's not really such a big problem ( cause so many ppl leaving and coming back to real faith), but real problem is ppl who have built in aversion to any sort of spirituality whatsoever, they only believe in "social justice" and anything else for them is on extremis spectrum, fanatical, right wing , homophobic, sexiest etc etc etc, and I'm not talking about really lost ppl with ten tons of piercing in their face, I'm talking about intelligent, sensitive, but absolutely closed hearted young generation, which at the moment is scary for me,, I would appreciate any thoughts how to deal with it

@@karolinaszczudlo9871 What I can add to it is , well #1 I agree that atheism is becoming a minority group and it's losing ground to the rise in power of new age. I also do find many, many people who have that old fire for atheism and agnosticism. What I would submit is this; There never was an atheist. The Bible says we hide the knowledge of God. We suppress it. These people we think of who are atheist, these kids on campus these debaters in videos we watch and the family or friends we have do NOT have atheism as a belief system. They believe in the self idol. They make themselves god. They make themselves and or the other idols we use as their god or gods. Sex, public virtue, good works, power and money. Etc. There is no atheist the Bible says. Thus all the pagans of history. Every account in the Bible of pagans are stories of the same people today. They may have sacrificed to mollach whereas today they sacrifice babies in abortion to the idol of career or self. It is the same. There never was an atheist. Biblically. Now, to answer your point more clearly.....there are also many less atheists who are clean atheists today. They're losing ground in the west to outright honest self love or worship. The mysticism and new age is claiming them quicker. I submit that atheism is the 1st step to mystic belief. Yes, you may have 4 friends who claim atheism today but flesh it out or give it a few years and try to dig into them again and I believe you'll find a mystic.

@@robertknight3354 I'm not sure what are the causes for everyone, suppose it's deep rooted in everyone ( some mystics called it the dark night of the soul), in my case, well, since I was a very young child I had those weird feelings, thoughts and experiences, it was too much for "little child", and I've always felt as very old, that I have very limited time, and my first sharp thought was that this life is a dream in the age of four...my nightmares were so severe, that I had to learn tricks to make myself awake, I was scared every night to go asleep and waking up more tiered that before going to bed , It was like living in two worlds, or more,,, I think my very odd dreams pushed me to look in different areas , so in my case it was something I came with, I had this very innocent side, where I wanted to become saint, live for God and help others utilizing my talents and this dark side, where every night had to fight demons, and going stand up to my fears going to cemetery in the middle of the night was a good idea, I'll try explain more, it help me to understand as well I suppose

I was really struck by the part where they talk about people retreating in a sort of mode of 'awareness in general' thereby distancing themselves from their personal being and the bagage that they carry around so they don't have to deal with painful or hard stuff, like Buddha did. A friend of mine is travelling this road at the moment but as i found his perspectives on the world, awareness and self actualization so alien i came upon this video. I see this all New Age "problem" from different perspective, coming from Catholic background ( thus my parents and even grandparents were not really religious, it was more for convince and rebel against communism), and though I had always relationship with Christ, and was very into warship, when I hit my teenage years, I've seen enough hypocrisy and rottenness in main religions, what got me on seeker path . So without going to much into my personal story ( cause it's not really that unique, and this pattern I see often), I would address the root of "the problem" , which is disillusionment with organized religion, and not symptoms of it, which is as well New Age, as well as satanism as well as atheism, scepticism etc.... could you please maybe address this highly important issue?

My learning steps came through metaphysics, not a church or a bible. However, after realizing Jesus was the messiah my instinct was to go straight to the New Testament. This happened for me in 1970. My concern here is the immaturity from new agers and Christians that can Inadvertently deter you from your natural heartfelt creative God loving process. God bless your journey. I have to add new age without Jesus is like God without a head.

So ... what I’m hearing is that, according to this world view, “consciousness” is just redefined and really means the opposite of what we normally mean. I can’t buy that what is actually unconsciousness, mindlessness, is somehow superior to what this worldview calls “the ego” (awareness). Or that unawareness can somehow generate awareness. If I cease to know myself as myself, “I” have ceased to exist. And that doesn’t seem to me to be an improvement. According to this line of thinking, a rock is superior to a human being because the rock just “is.” It is fully free of “the ego.” Yeah, I’m not going to fall for a line of thinking that teaches me that me becoming a rock would be a promotion.
