After someone who lost his wife to the new age deception, I can honestly say I am thankful for Steven and Alisa's interview and overall message. The deception is no lie and takes people by storm with the positive message that is preached, however, denounces everything GOD stands for and ignores and looks down upon the Gospel. When I asked my wife when was the last time she spoke with GOD she responded "I speak to gods" I knew that she had denounced her faith and has been deceived. After a year and a horrible separation, things have never turned around. I pray for everyone involved in anything new age-related. What Christianity is lacking is the process to realise God and the process to cure the sinful desires of the heart. Without the process to realise God, the Christians will fall prey to lower habits of sin and other material enjoyment which will be aggravated by the fact that Jesus has already died for their sins. So the Christians don't have any qualms to do sins. So it is essential that Christians take up a yoga process and meditation and pranayama, and hare Krishna Mantra chanting - these proven techniques, will eradicate the lust, the anger, the greed, the envy, the pride from the heart of the practitioner. Mere belief the Jesus Christ being the saviour does not root out these evils from the heart of a person. So an intelligent person does not go by the absurd ideas of Christianity. As an artist I’ve always understood creation in that aspect. I put my energy and time and perspective into a painting. But the painting is not me and it doesn’t contain me. However it is my work and represents something about me. And you might be able to learn something about me looking at it but it’s not me. Exactly my perspective! Anyone who knows about creating anything themselves, understands that the creator is not somehow in what they created apart from their ideas, skills, views, personality... . I've always been connected to and doing art / design and then studied interior design. It has really helped me to understand God in His being the creator, architekt, designer...the Logos through which all came. Any true design process, ending in some product, starts in the same way.

Interesting how these new age ideas really only lead you down to chaos and confusion. I was pondering the other how difficult it must be for people trying psychedelics or having certain (not all) near-death experiences to come to the Truth, but was reminded that they aren't too far for God to reach. yes, more conversing will assist in eliminating the grey areas.( I am a detail type person. Most people do not see or appreciate why I go over the details (grrr!) because! so many times things go in the Same wrong way. Getting to good should be the Natural next step...So you are not wasting time going over the same errors every day. DOH!) ITS so good that the ones with understanding examine things with discernment, NOT to judge, but to ensure things are OF GOD. Talk at length, so we dont have scraps of confusion hanging all around. Clear the webs that seem to appear OUT OF nowhere. How good we can discuss these books, ideas to examine their validity in relation to THE WORD. Rohr's Christ in everyone does not give credence to the Sacrifice of Jesus and the need for realizing repentance is required in human conscience and hearts. Follows with no one has to think at all about how they are. WHAT?? We are fallible and have a sin nature. Adam and Eve learned about the wrath, but God still cared and didnt crush them. Just did bible study tonight about what happened in EDEN. The loving side Is present but we cant minimize the part about Gods truth. He gets so hurt by our utter selfish ways. He disciplines so we learn we need to fear Him to walk, live and not be utter fools in ourselves. No we cannot present a sweet soft gospel. God parted the Red Sea, even then the people were getting Doubtful. REALLY? they got freed from hatred and then pouted at the One who loved them enough? He still saved them. Then Jesus came to Replace sacrifices..cuz the animal ones were Not pleasing (they dont have conscience, it really was just loss of life/ valuable resources that helped people.) God adjusted, poured out his wrath on Sin because He has to(Jesus took the wrath..didnt have to). It all has to be reviewed back to the beginning..so I appreciate those who take on the task >> compelled to bring the truth out. But we dont want to go over arguments so much, Thats the issue of getting people to admit God is sovereign. that SIN spoiled the truth/ faith in GOD. Until that, they cant get the part about Mercy. Good that these speakers cover the Sacrifice of Jesus. Its the mystery..but is the only true answer to solve Sin and its wages. Rohr...is suiting God to his own desires. Satan was subtle and crafty ..bending things to appear they are better,you can be God. (Jesus accomplished something but Rohr calls it Unnecessary?) Denies the true God flat out.

I love that this showed up in my KZbin feed. Spirit science and metaphysics is a page I used to follow on fb and I loved it. In more recent years, interestingly so, about 5 years ago, I got away from these false views, gave up the idea that there is no absolute, and believed in Jesus more than ever. My faith was truly tested and Jesus has been leading me since. He is more present than I ever knew. And I've always been a Christian, though I never wanted to confess outwardly that anyone else was wrong. Now I know in my heart that I do have to take a stance in my faith, because it's black and white. Jesus is the Son of God who died and rose again 3 days later.

Jesus dying on the cross doesn't do anything to a Christian who is suffering in jail now for some offense. 1. Neither Jesus stopped the Christian, when he was doing the offense 2. People find some good sounding ideas mixed with spiritual truths and cling onto it. It’s so important to show people a way out in love and without judgement. When I came across Steven I had so many things exposed but it made the process way easier because it was coming from someone who was authentic and loving, but also backed everything up scripturally which really helped for clarity, especially when understanding Jesus or what he says about things like “Christ consciousness” Much love!

I myself was saved just last November and Steven’s interview on the “your mate Tom” KZbin channel was the spark that started my questioning and definitely an answered prayer. Only 5 days after finding Steven’s videos, I was on my knees professing that Jesus is Lord and my savior. This was absolutely brilliant. Thank you for not cutting this up in editing - I feel like my brain works so similarly to Steven's, and I relished every second of his breakdowns. This stuff needs to be THOROUGH! I was saved by Jesus out of the New Age and shuddered at the truth of the things I was rescued from... I also have been involved in spiritual teachings with the belief that I was teaching in the name of God. I have just started taking all of my videos down. I was into new age teaching in the 80's. I am in my late 50's now. Hearing you read from those new age writings takes me back! The gibberish....it never makes sense but they innoculate you against questioning it by saying that when you are spiritually advanced enough, you will understand. In truth, you don't "completely understand" because it is nonsensical gibberish. New Agers will tell you that logic is "base" and earthly, implying that you are stupid. Thanks for the great discussion. I'm glad you made the connection with Brian McLaren. I was in a Bible study some years ago and the minister wanted us to read one of his books. We got a couple of chapters in, and I was very uneasy, but I found it hard to explain why. The group members fortunately voted to stop reading the book. Now it all makes sense. He and Rohr are on the same wavelength. It's so deceptive that they both keep describing themselves as orthodox, when clearly they're anything but.

Please pray for me. As a struggling Christian (not connected to any Christian new age movement), this conversation was really interesting and encouraging but also has left me with a lot of questions about my own personal faith. When he said in the end that he was looking for spiritual food, spiritual water, and understanding, spiritual experience, but felt like he was never arriving, ie a cycle of forever learning but never coming to the knowledge of truth, and he said I know what it's like to be searching and to be thirsty and to not be thirsty anymore…I feel like this has been my struggle, but as a Christian for the past 8 years… I believe I did have a genuine experience with God as a child and professed faith in Jesus and received him as my Lord and saviour, as genuinely as a 9 year old can… It impacted me in such a way that I always had this desire to know God and live according to his ways and I believe that for my early years I did… my most consistent prayer growing up, as I read the bible, especially the book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes was for God to help me and give me wisdom so that I could make good choices in my life and live in accordance to his commandments. That was always my desire as I grew up, I never had that experience of "falling away" or getting to a point of not wanting God anymore. But it seems that at some point, I encountered differences in Christian doctrine/theology in my early 20s (I'm now 31) and I started to research, especially of the Jewish roots of the faith and then into Calvinism/Arminian and everything else that has followed since then. My aim in this endeavor was always to know the truth, I wanted to know an understand who Jesus was in accordance to the scriptures… I didn't want to be led astray, I wanted to make sure my beliefs were grounded in the truth of scripture. But the one constant feeling I have had for the last few years since seeking to learn and understand my faith more and trying to take into account these different existing perspectives within Christianity has been confusion as to what is the most purest form of the gospel, according to the scriptures, because so many different schools of thought have come to various conclusions about various doctrines like original sin, hell, the nature of salvation etc… and this has led me to have that feeling of always seeking but never perceiving/arriving. It's like I started with some kind of genuine faith but then the pursuit of wanting to discern the validity of different doctrines within Christianity, so as to not fall into deception as we are warned in scripture, has actually led me to feel more confused than ever and to just be full of doubt as to what perspective is true, to the point where I don’t really know how to even go about having or understanding my personal relationship with God. This has caused great agony in me, because it seems like I started out with something good, with a genuine faith and yet, the pursuit of seeking knowledge and wisdom so that I would not be deceived or be led astray by any kind of these deceiving spirits or false doctrines has led me to this state of confusion and I feel stuck. When he said about actually knowing Jesus, vs having like mental ascent or just mental knowledge but trusting from the heart.. That's where I feel like I'm not having that experience of knowing Jesus anymore, I don’t know what it means or how it is to trust from the heart. In scripture, it says to "put on Christ/the new self" (Romans13:14, Ephesians 4:24, Colossians 3:10) how does one do that practically? I am very thirsty and I feel like it has been a very long time when I could say I didn’t feel thirsty or that my soul has been trully satisfied or at rest in God… what can I do in this situation? My greatest fear is that I keep trying to reach out to God and yes confess all of these thing and my sins and seek to respond in faith but still end up stuck and confused.

Sounds like you may need to get back to basics and just read the gospels. Jesus in red is so simple yet profound. The most important thing for us after being born again to keep his spirit is to obey him and do everything we possibly can to get the sin out of our life. Prostrate, cry out for him. I’ve been through a similar struggle. I can say with great joy though, that I received such a resounding conclusion to that turbulent and confusing season of my life when I read 1 Cor. 13:8-12. “For now we know in part...” We’ll never know the true mysteries of the faith. Even if we have the firmest of orthodox theological foundations (which is a good thing!) we’ll never have the all of the answers. And here’s the thing: you have to be okay with that. And what’s more, you should rejoice in it all the more! Because it reminds us of how finite we are; of how little we truly know. Would God be truly elevated if we could know absolutely everything about the faith, the world, and the cosmos? There are things we simply cannot and will not be able to understand or know. That being said, a good theological framework were you can stand firm on solid Biblical truths is a good thing. I’ll also reiterate something someone already said in this thread: go back to the basics. Spend some time in Mark and Matthew. Know the Savior and believe that He is sufficient for you, even when you don’t understand. When that belief sinks in, I promise you it’s the most freeing, joyful song your soul can sing!!

For example, most scholars believe that Mark was written first and Mark's first line says that the gospel is "the gospel about Jesus Christ". Thus "the gospel of the kingdom of God" is simply another way to refer to "the gospel about Jesus Christ". This later evidenced when Yeshua tells the Pharisees that "the kingdom of God is within you". The you in Greek is plural, which means that he's saying that the kingdom of God was already present in the Pharisees as a group (hence the translation "the kingdom of God is among you", which is more accurate). He was referring to himself as the Messiah. The "only true God" misinterpretation is disproved by verses where Yeshua is called God, the only true God, the "only light", the exclusive Lord, etc etc: carm.org/jehovahs-witnesses/john-173-the-only-true-god/
