@@1GODISNOWHERE1 "What is the immutability of God?" Answer: The immutability of God (His quality of not changing) is clearly taught throughout Scripture. For example, in Malachi 3:6 God affirms, "I the Lord do not change." (See also Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Isaiah 46:9-11; and Ezekiel 24:14.) James 1:17 also teaches the immutability of God: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning.” The “shadow of turning” refers to our perspective on the sun: it is eclipsed it moves and it casts its shadow. The sun rises and sets, appears and disappears every day; it comes out of one tropic and enters into another at certain seasons of the year. But with God, who, spiritually speaking, is light itself, there is no darkness at all; there is no change with Him, nor anything like it. God is unchangeable in His nature, perfections, purposes, promises, and gifts. He, being holy, cannot turn to that which is evil; nor can He, who is the fountain of light, be the cause of darkness. Since every good and perfect gift comes from Him, evil cannot proceed from Him, nor can He tempt any to it (James 1:13). The Bible is clear that God does not change His mind, His will, or His nature. There are several logical reasons why God must be immutable, that is, why it is impossible for God to change. First, if anything changes, it must do so in some chronological order. There must be a point in time before the change and a point in time after the change. Therefore, for change to take place it must happen within the constraints of time; however, God is eternal and exists outside of the constraints of time (Psalm 33:11; 41:13; 90:2-4; John 17:5; 2 Timothy 1:9). Second, the immutability of God is necessary for His perfection. If anything changes, it must change for the better or the worse, because a change that makes no difference is not a change. For change to take place, either something that is needed is added, which is a change for the better; or something that is needed is lost, which is a change for the worse. But, since God is perfect, He does not need anything. Therefore, He cannot change for the better. If God were to lose something, He would no longer be perfect; therefore, He cannot change for the worse. Third, the immutability of God is related to His omniscience. When someone changes his/her mind, it is often because new information has come to light that was not previously known or because the circumstances have changed and require a different attitude or action. Because God is omniscient, He cannot learn something new that He did not already know. So, when the Bible speaks of God changing His mind, it must be understood that the circumstance or situation has changed, not God. When Exodus 32:14 and 1 Samuel 15:11-29 speak of God changing His mind, it is simply describing a change of dispensation and outward dealings toward man. Numbers 23:19 clearly presents the immutability of God: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” No, God does not change His mind. These verses affirm the doctrine of God’s immutability: He is unchanging and unchangeable. www.gotquestions.org/immutability-God.html

God takes His stand in His own congregation; He judges in the midst of the rulers. 2 How long will you judge unjustly And show partiality to the wicked?Selah. 3 Vindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute. 4 Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. 5 They do not know nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken. 6 I said, “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High. 7 “Nevertheless you will die like men And fall like any one of the princes.” 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth! For it is You who possesses all the nations.

Friend you have to read the full context, literally right after that verse it says you will die like men. The context of this psalm is "gods" is referring to judges who God has given His authority to to judge the nation of Israel.

Psalm 82 is saying that judges, that have the authority of God better judge fairly and justly. And you can see that if you just read the whole thing. If youd like to chat about mormonism I would love to exchange emails. I have studied your religion and love your people. I would challenge you to look at the "proof texts" you use and read the whole context around that one verse. Normally if you read all the verses around it you can get a idea of the meaning. But message me back if youd like to exchange emails! But if not just read the Bible from front to back. Search answers for yourself!

Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon, And His arm will be against the Chaldeans. 15 “I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him, I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful. 16 “Come near to Me, listen to this: From the first I have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I was there. And now the Lord [g]God has sent Me, and His Spirit.” 17 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go. 18 “If only you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your [h]well-being would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. 19 “Your [i]descendants would have been like the sand, And [j]your offspring like its grains; Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.”

So you go to a garden that has a bunch of weird art in it without talking to the artists or figuring out what they were trying to convey. you stated multiple times that you didn't understand what they were trying to do. why not find out? Also, you don't have to go on a mission to go to the celestial kingdom. you also don't have to get married to go to the celestial kingdom. If you actually understand our doctrine on grace and works, then you would know that we do not believe that our works get us into heaven. yoked from the time we are born? aren't we all? aren't we commanded to take up our crosses and follow the example of christ? a true christian, especially today, is yoked by the challenges it carries with it. The LDS church has never changed doctrine or views on principles. policy does change to try to abide by the doctrine and principles we live. to use the argument that god doesn't change, in conjunction with the LDS church, you'd have to use that same logic on your own beliefs. why change baptism? why did god call prophets in ancient times and not today? why was the law of moses superceded by the new covenant? why isn't circumscision required anymore? Again, changes in policy does not mean a change in God or doctrine. the gates of hell did not prevail against christ's church. prevail suggests that the struggle is over. we're all still here, fighting through mortality, waiting on the second coming of christ. the war isn't over yet. in the long run, the church is still here. it was destroyed completely or forever. what about the protestant world view in that reformation was necessary? seems to me that a reformation and a restoration are too close to one another to split hairs over that argument. it's not a "re-restoration." it's a continuation. we do not believe that the church is done being restored. we do not believe that god has said all he has to say or revealed all he has to reveal. i, for one, believe in a god that continues to speak to his children through prophets and revelatioin. not a god that had a book compiled 2000 years ago and said, "good luck, that's all i'm going to give you." to say the you have all the truth you need and god as revealed everthing to you already is a very proud and limiting view. all that being said, if people choose to leave the LDS church, so be it. it's their choice and i will not condemn or judge them because i haven't experienced what they have. I would much rather them end up in another christian religion than to abandon their belief in God altogether. I believe your hearts are in the right place and i feel like you have a genuine desire to help people. but you are mistaken and lacking in your understanding of our doctrine and worldview.

@@mormonbear4050 the doctrine has changed. Go read the journal of discourses. Brigham Young said the doctrine of polygamy was the way to heaven and if ignored you would be damned. If you want proof I will send it to you. And they changed that doctrine later on. Not to mention mormonism teaches that the father has a flesh and bones and was once a man who lived on another planet who exalted himself to become the God of this planet. Thats no where in the Bible, the Bible says the father is spirit. And mormonism denies the trinity which is in the Bible. And if you dont believe that mormonism teaches you have to work your way to heaven you do not know your own religion enough. And the Bible is not corrupted, go do some research and youll see the amount of evidence and manuscripts for the Bible are alot. Please go try to prove mormonism to be true outside of the lds church. I promise youll see Joseph smith was a liar and a con man. And the book of mormon to be completely historically inaccurate and that the Bible is true. The bible and mormonism oppose eachother. Only one can be true and mormonism is not.
@reformedwretch20715 жыл бұрын
@@mormonbear4050 All of your examples that "policy changes but not doctrine" based upon fulfilled laws and prophecies is absolutely fallacious. Those laws and prophecies were accomplished and fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the true Christ, not the brother of Satan and the literal offspring of a god among an infinite number of gods. Apodiptic law is different from causistic law. While the former is absolute and remains forever, the latter is dependent on fulfillment and situations. Besides, you god changes and mutates, he was once a man who obeyed some external set of rules and achieved godhood. Of course someone like that would change, but not the true God. And as @THC_FROSTY said, the LDS church has changed and modified doctrine multiple times, that is simply a matter of fact. Please repent and believe upon the true Jesus Christ, who is the eternal God, begotten, not made.
