Just saw them live in Tucson last night. I must say that Madeline's vocals are just as pretty live as they are recorded. Of course the band itself was tight and well practiced, I was very impressed.

the song is about guys taken control over girls and us being trapped in love with them and men just using us and leaving us. Like the more you fall in love the harder the break up is. So she is expressing how it feels to go through that. The video represents that. A man taking a women (all of her and her heart) he has captured her (her heart) and then he just leaves her on the road (dumps her) all the X's represent how many times we go back into the same relationships over and over get it now???

I see this as some sort of game...like their love was all a game. The tying up represents the whole "abducted" aspect. The x's are all of the times he's hurt her heart and abducted it. The whole video is the game of love until, in the end, he dumps her. He breaks her heart, "he took it all away, and left me to bleed out, bleed out."

@rowrowrosie it's a play on the words of the song. You think he's abducted her, kept her for years since they were young (the scene where they're blowing out matches) and she's fallen out of the back of the truck and is scribbling some final message. But when he offered to let her go she tied him up and 'abducted' him: that is their relationship, and neither of them is letting go. And at the end we see she wasn't scribbling a final note but kisses instead: she loved him.

When the woman is in the trunk it represents the emotional pain which she is feeling, "He broke my heart because I really loved him". At the end of the short film, the couple switches places, resembled how emotional pain affect both partners. (The x's at the end show the many trials that the couple has struggled through) However the lyrics seem to point to more of a relationship in which one is taken advantage of.

Okay. Its all about how far you would go for someone you love, even though you know you're going to get hurt. In thie music video it shows the guys girlfriend in the back of the car which is a symbol of letting someone you love you hurt you. When they switch and HE goes in the car, its meant to be what the woman was thinking of doing to him. As in, he wasnt worth it and she wanted him to feel HER pain. Also, the X's in the ground are the count of how many times he has hurt her.
