A relationship which binds rather than liberates. A relationship where one or both people don't really know how to be loving. A relationship of entrapment, not of love. A relationship which should have ended, but here they are old and battered and now don't even know what to do. They are so burnt out, all creativity or ability to change is gone. Dreams are gone. All they have left is to change roles. I agree with Voli23 about the Xs.

the song is about guys taken control over girls and us being trapped in love with them and men just using us and leaving us. Like the more you fall in love the harder the break up is. So she is expressing how it feels to go through that. The video represents that. A man taking a women (all of her and her heart) he has captured her (her heart) and then he just leaves her on the road (dumps her) all the X's represent how many times we go back into the same relationships over and over get it now???
