Cultural Matinee: Is interlocalism the new internationalism?

Technology continues to facilitate the opening up of newdialogues between different geographies and cultures, and dissolveboundaries between states. In this rapidly changing scenario, is itstill correct to think about an all pervasive and homogenousinternationalism, centred around nations’ capital cities? Shouldwe instead rethink the way we work in terms of an emerging inter-localism, in which specific local cultures and economies across theglobe exchange ideas and products between each other, bypassingthe functions of traditional metropolitan centres?
