It looks and sounds like you are surviving the culture (and climate) shock. 😊 Arriving mid-winter you start in the coldest and darkest time of the year, but every day it will be more daylight. I believe it takes about 7 or 8 weeks to make some of the "Finnish things" become more like a habit. And April is the spring month. 💐 Still, don't forget to try the Finnish Easter food. You should at least learn to know what "mämmi" is, and my own favourite is "pasha". You have to taste pasha.

Already tasted mämmi and I love it. 😊 What's pasha?

@@filipinamindset Pasha (or paskha) is a traditional dish made from cheese. The origin is Slavic and Easter Orthodox Christianity, but it is often served in Finland. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paskha

Good for you, Jo! The way you talk about your job, it seems like you have a passion for it. You love older people the way my wife loves people people with mental disabilities. I think it is very noble. ❤🙏

Hi Jo. Thank you for these tidbits of information. It stands to reason that a nurse in the PI can also nurse elsewhere with some additional training. It is great to hear that you truly enjoy the work you are doing now, especially far from home. Stay safe Jo.

So many differences, I think I would be dazed and confused but you seem to be taking it well. Your good humor probably helps. Best wishes.

Thank you for this video Jo, it answered a lot (though not all!) of our questions. As for age and memory, while there is a correlation between the two, it is not always the case. My grandmother lived well into her 90's and was as sharp on the day she died as she ever was. There is no guarantee you will lose your memory as you age, and of course, the more you use your brain, just like your muscles, the less likely you are to lose it. Have a great rest of your day, and Maligayang Pasko ng Pagkabuhay!

In the west some people buy tanning ("browning") products - sprays that give you an artificial sun tan :-) You studied engineering - maybe you can do online courses to complete that, if you want to move later in that direction.

I go on Google maps and go through the streets. The power lines are like rats nests. When more than one wire touches it can short out the system causing brownouts.

Finnish people are a lot more expressive of their feelings compared to Filipino culture. Finnish people also don't care too much about being on time
