I once had a dream in my sleep 😴 that I was the same age as I am now but we had the Cumbres and Toltec for free and I taught myself to drive the Locomotives and I had operational engines 484, 487, 463, and 491 and then I soon restored 497! It was the most amazing dream I ever had!!😀

TexasRailfan21 yup. And 491 won’t be the only operating K37 anymore. Hopefully they restore it like 463 and give me he tender the same livery

You know that a oil conversion isn't permanent, she could be converted back. But either way I'm just glad she's still steaming.

Great video, but what happened to 487’s whistle? It sounded good back in the 80’s and 90’s but now it’s squeaky.

Must have changed to a flattop 5 chime of something. Whistle totally needing an inspection and replacement of retaining pipe. 488 had that whistle from 1992 i believe

Why does 484 not have its thingy on top of the smokestack?

It's a spark arrestor, and 484 was still being prepared for running and it had not been put on the engine yet, it was on the next day.
