24 to 27 lb of boost in the stock configuration . I guess that explains the torque . I interested in the engine and seeing how it does . At least its direction injection engine and turbo charged inner cooled . The 2.8 certainly seems like a good choice for my Toyota 4x4

I was reading some articles about the 2.8 and its reliability. The articles that I have read all say the same thing: "But in reality, this engine has a terrible reputation on the Asian market because of low-quality assembling and materials. The most common failure of this engine is a quick wearing of cylinder walls. As a result, increased oil consumption. The next problem is bad connecting rod bearings damaging a crankshaft. Besides that, the engine easily overheats. There is a high risk of coolant penetration inside cylinders." What has Cummins done to address these issues?

where is the correct place to put the cone filter? also that looks like an off the shelf sceptre cone filter.

Where ever it works for you. Easy.. mount directly on turbo better.. away from heat. Even better some sort of ram setup.

It's as complicated as you want it. People slap in a V8 engine all the time. Just depends on what features you do or don't want. This being an emissions legal engine and heavily computer controlled.. it's not a swap for the faint. But again.. you can ignore some of the info here and still have a working engine. However it may not run right or may have issues or maybe it's just overkill ( radiator 3x bigger than it needs). TV shows make this look easy with 80+% cut out.
