It was Thomas Jefferson who used the term, "wall of separation" between religion and the government. The first amendment to the Constitution says the two should not be mixed. It is the christions (and evangelicals, however that is different) that want to destroy that wall and make our secular government into one that codify their religious dogmas into law. There is no person that can make religion look silly. It does that all on it's own. Religion is the opiate of the masses, and I can tell you first hand, that it is a business, just like any other, with the commodity being unwavering allegiance, even when confronted with irrefutable proof otherwise. In 2016, all religions recieved donations of 123 BILLION dollars. If your faith's values are like most, being kind to others and helping out the less fortunate SHOULD be very close to the top of the list of desirable attributes for the congregation. The U.N. estimates that it would cost 30 billion dollars per year, to end world hunger, or one quarter of the money that goes to religions on a yearly basis. Yet people are still starving in America, let alone halfway around the world, where being poor REALLY sucks. The only things religion can do for you, is make your mortality a little easier for you to deal with, and to help you help yourself to forgive yourself, when you have done something that you find it hard to forgive yourself for. If you cannot manage to be kind to others, and respectful in general, then perhaps you need the guidance of a set of principles that you can adhere to. I can do that without giving any of my time or money to an organisation that shields child molesters from getting prosecuted. Personally, I don't think religion is silly. I think it is evil. Watch the movie 'Zeitgeist' and tell me how it makes YOU feel, and I mean directly after watching it, not after you have had time to discuss it with anyone who has had time to denounce the truth it holds.

@@ese_cholito But Trump is not a Christian. He was asked by a Christian reporter if he had ever asked God for forgiveness and he said "NO, I don't have to, I don't need it!" The essence of Christianity is that "ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23), and we therefore need God's forgiveness which was provided to us through Christ's sacrificial death on the cross. Trump claims to not need God's forgiveness therefore he can't be a Christian according to how the Bible drfines Christianity.

I am a Democrat, before I vote I read all about the candidate. I do extensive research. I want to know where they attend Church, where their kids attend school. Where the spouse work and pay close attention to their background. Not the cushy wonderful person his campaign manager makes him/her out to be. I have paid for background searches on candidates. This is trying to make abortion more palatable by implying it's only before viability, and it's exactly false. Roe v Wade specifically avoided determining viability or the beginning of life and simply ruled that a woman's "right to privacy" out-weighed the rights of the unborn, regardless of viability. And abortion is definitely legal long after viability in some states, which Cuomo simply ignores so he can accuse the religious people of not caring about the science.
